How can anyone think that a child pervert can possibly be a good dentist? Do his patients not watch the news, read the newspaper to see that that he was busted with porn videos and also sending photos out to other pervs? How would anyone want to sit in his chair and let him touch you after knowing what he has been doing? I do not feel sorry for him. He made his own personal decison to look at little boys and it is pervs like him that exploit children. He is the scum of the earth. more

I was in major pain the night before could not sleep all night. its 7 im calling every dentist in the phone book. finally 8 i get a hold of a office they want to charge me 280 just to see what i need done the 180 to pull out my tooth. i try another number Michael Mc Cartys they answer i talk to them they give me a wonderful price tell me to come in right away. I go in fill out a lil info about my medical not eve 10 min i'm sitting in a chair getting x rays. The doc give me option on what i want to do with my tooth i want it pulled. so he explains the procedure. I am horrified of needles i felt really comfortable when he gave me the numbing shots i Watched tv with head phones on they constantly asked me how i was doing if i felt pain everything went perfect . Dr. McCarty and his staff provide top notch service to their patients. I've been a patient for several years now, and they make going to the dentist almost enjoyable. They provide complimentary water and other drinks to their clients, and the cleaning chairs even have their own personal TVs and massage capabilities. I've been a patient for over twenty years and have been very satisfied! His office does not have a big turnaround which I feel says alot about his practice. It's nice to see the same friendly faces which makes for a comfortable atmosphere. I've experienced long wait times at other doctor visits and appreciate that I am able to go in and out of my appointments with Dr. McCarty. I also have never felt rushed through my appointment as he and his staff are patient and attentive to questions or concerns. more

I've been a patient of Dr. McCarty's for almost twelve years. My husband goes as well. We have had nothing but postive experiences with this office/dentist. I have had to have quite a bit of work done and it has been done right and with great comfort. I've never been prodded into getting any service that I did not need. I recently asked for and had my teeth whitened. It turned out great. The hygenist that did it was very concerned with my being happy and discussed what to do to keep the teeth their whitest. My wife and I, and our youngest son, have been patients of Dr. McCarty since we moved to Austin in late 2005. We are notified of our pending appointments several times, by mail, by text message, and by e-mail. I'm in on time, which I like. I also find that Dr. McCarty is not trying to ""sell"" me what I don't need in contrast to a dentist I once had. It's an extremely well run office with nice people and a very competent dentist. This office is very comfortable and efficient. I am new to Austin and I am glad I have found a good dental team to go to. Everything about my dental health was explained in a clear and polite way and I was given advice on how to improve my already good oral hygiene. This is certainly not the usual sterile, cold medical office most have come to expect. Their are flat screen TV's above every seat to entertain you while the technician does his/her work. I have been going to this dentist for 2 years. I made an appointment for a teeth cleaning and they scheduled me fo 8 am the very nexty day so I was thrilled to have such fast turnaround. I have a 10 week old who tends to be fussy in the mornings as all babies do. I called 30 minutes prior to my appointment to cancel becuase she was sick only to be notified that I would be charged $100 for not cancelling within 48 hours. Well that would have been impossible since I didnt even have the appointment 48 hours before. Plus no one had notified me when I made the appointment of the fee. She said the fee is clearly posted on the website! I work 50 hours a week and tend to my child when I get home. Like I ever considered visiting or reading their website with the plethora of free time I have. I explained my situation and hoped she could sympahtize with a new mother. But the rude receptionist said, ""Well maybe next time you shouldnt schedule a morning appointment knowing you have an infant. I cannot waive the fee. I'll take your credit card when you are ready."" HOW UNBELIEVABLE! Apparently its my fault I had the child. Thanks for the empathy lady! Needless to say I paid the $100 fee. 2 days later I found a new dentist and had my records transfered. I was not at all surprised to see that he was recently nominated by his dental peers as one of the best dentists in Texas both in 2006 and 2007 as reported by the independent survey in Texas Monthly magazine. I have avoided dentists for years because of a bad experience as a child. I was referred to Dr. McCarty by a colleague. Dentistry must have changed! All I have to say is I hate insurance! But Dr. McCarty and his front office staff made it easy and painless. They process all of the paperwork and even mailed in the claims for me.
