Don't be fooled by the appearance when you first drive up! This place is GREAT! It has some of the best food I have had since moving to Houston! Great service, clean restaurant, nice ambiance, great food! more

This place is sooooo good. I'm hooked. Their Shish Tawook is amazing and the Red Pepper dip with Pomegranate Molasses is incredible. Never had anything bad here- it's all very fresh, nothing is greasy- I'm a very health conscious person and very particular about how food is prepared- everything is always fresh and light. Love this place. Service is always wonderful as well. Two thumbs up and snap. more

I went for dinner with a group of friends (8 total). I was ordering wine and appetizers for our table; it was great! We all ordered our entrees. I ordered a chicken dish; the food came out and I received a shrimp salad. I told the server that's not what I ordered, that I don't even eat shrimp, and he admitted he messed up. He told me it would be 10-12 mins for me to get my originally ordered dish, so I told him I would eat the salad minus the shrimp because I can't eat shrimp. If you were a restaurant manager, wouldn't you automatically comp this lettuce??? I would think so, but when I got the check the salad was on there (that I didn't order) which I never argued. I paid, and it was a friend of mine sitting at the table who questioned the salad charge that caught the attention of a manager who stopped by the table (after I paid) to insert his 2 cents. He said ""We didn't charge you for the shrimp because you didn't eat them."" To which I replied, ""You charged me for a salad I never ordered."" He said, ""But you ate the salad."" And I said, ""Yes, I ate the salad because I had nothing else to eat while all my friends were eating!"" End of story: I paid full price for lettuce I never ordered, and I WILL NEVER BE BACK AGAIN! The manager should have just never came by because he made it worse! more

My co-workers and i were looking for a lunch spot close to the Galleria and we stumbled across Mezza. We were seated immediately and our server was very prompt to take our order. It was really hard to pick our entrees since the menu is so big. All of our picks were great. Word of caution to all,the portions are Texas sized so come hungry. My husband and decided to give Cafe Mezza a try after some of my co-workers raved about it..... Well, all I can say is it was by far the best meal I've had in a long time. From the minute we walked in I knew we were in for a treat. We started of with a house salad and it was to die for.We then took our servers suggestion and had the Lamb Shank and the Pecan Crusted Salmon. I never knew lamb could taste so yummy. The salmon was equally delish...We managed to save a little space for the Coconut Tres Leches. I am so glad we did because it just was heavenly.... I don't know why we didn't come sooner but we will definitely be back very soon. Pros: EVERYTHING more

We went there for a business lunch today with my staff and I have to admit this little restaurant has exceeded my expectations by far. I have NEVER posted a review before for any restarant, however this one is a must due to the high quality, large portions, excellant service and an expansive menu. My husband and I have been meaning to come check out Cafe Mezza for a while.. Anyhow,we managed to come in last night and I'm so glad we did. We started out with the best Spinach Dip in town. Our entrees were to die for.... I had the Mango Stuffed Chicken and my husband had the Lamb Shank and they were both extremely generous portions. The Lamb just fell off the bone and the sauce it came with was so aromatic as well as delicious. We have not had a meal this great in a very very long time. they have some of the best dishes ever. we had a mezza salad with a to die for homemade salad dressing. we dove into a pick three of hummus, red pepper dip and fatouch(sorry about the spelling) that was all so fresh tasting, it was simply wonderful. their wine selection was to die for as well and their house red was fantaboulous!! and if that wasn't enough, for dessert we had their revamped version of tres lesches cake, OMG!! talk about scrumptous. they added a little something different and the toasted coconut on top just hooked us for life. we heard of cafe mezza from friends in austin and they were right to suggest it. give it a try. our wait staff was more than genuine and timely. My family enjoyed dinner at Cafe Mezza tonight. What a great menu! There was something for everyone -- even my picky son (who enjoyed a burger with wonderful sweet potato fries on the side for something different -- fabulous). Shrimp tacos, great variety of sandwiches, fabulous salads, generous servings of soup (a ""cup"" is a small bowl and a ""bowl"" is an enormous bowl), pasta dishes, shish kabobs, grilled chicken, fish and more. We *really* enjoyed the hummus appetizer. Delicious. Prices are very reasonable. Setting is casual and cozy. Outside seating available with ceiling fans overhead. A great new find! Pros: Fabulous food! Cons: Restaurant was comfortable, but lighting was very low - tough for older eyes to read the menu! more

Friends and I have been 5 or 6 times now, and have just been more impressed with each visit. My daughter and I go once or twice a week for lunch. The salads may just be the best in town. Yesterday, I noticed the ""Sides"" menu and went with the Wild Rice Risotto and Grilled Vegetables. The risotto was so perfect, mushrooms galore. My daughter's Salmon Salad was perfection on a plate. We have never been disappointed here by the food, service or surroundings. It is also very family friendly, without interrupting the other diners. They also do chicken and veggies perfectly. On my first visit I was with a group and we did appetizers to dessert. Since the portions are so generous, my daughter and I usually just stick with one dish each and share. But the appetizers and desserts are equally delicious. Pros: Everything Cons: Parking may require a tiny wait, but has never been a problem for me. more
