I used Mesquite Rentals for many years to rent my Palm Springs property. They would collect the rents, deduct their agreed commission and any maintenance/repair costs, and send me a check for the balance. Everything was copasetic until, starting in March 2008, I either got my checks late or their checks were NSF. They always had some kind of excuse, which over time didn't add up. I was always able to get them to make their NSF checks good, but it was time-consuming and not the way I prefer to spend my time. In addition, I then experienced problems in contacting them, which I suspect were due to the phone company suspending their phone service. I finally 'fired' them and started collecting the rents directly from the tenant in early autumn of 2008. It appears that they have shut down their website, and my understanding is that they finally closed down their business. Pros: None Cons: Not paying their clients more

I used Mesquite Realty to rent my unit for about 4 years. They were always on time with my proceeds and generally did adequate maintainance on the unit.However, beginning in 2008, the business seemed to go straight downhill. The proceeds checks I received were returned for unsufficient funds, and I was promiised that the situation woujld be corrected. As of this writing, I am still out over $800 and calls and emails are no longer returned.I believe that the owners illness allowed the staff members to manipulate the business in their best interests which resulted in chaos.My advice to anyone listing or renting from Mesquite is to STAY AWAY!! more

My husband and I rented a condo from Mesquite, including a refundable $300 deposit. After being home for a month after our rental time, our deposit check arrived. When I deposited it in my bank, it was returned to me for insufficient funds. I called Mesquite to be told they were having some financial problems, but would be sending a new check imminently. My bank charged me $19 for their bounced check. I have called repeatedly since that time and have continually been told they had already mailed the replacement. After several weeks I was told that they had the wrong address for me. I corrected it although I don't believe that was true. That was early in May. The most recent call was on May 27, when I was again told that the check had been mailed. Today is May 30; no check arrived. I have talked with two men at the agency - Steve, who rudely hung up on me, and Brian, who continually tells me the check has been mailed. Obviously this is not a reputable business and I would warn anyone against doing business with them. Cons: No amount of pros can make up for the cons. more
