great intentions 3/23/2010

Meadow Crest is a great place with great intentions. Yes the horses may look as if they are being neglected or abused but thats what this farm is rescuing the horses from. Why would they cause harm to the animals they are trying to help? I use to work out there a lot and I miss it terribly. The owner teaches all the kids how to treat a horse correctly and how to NOT hurt it. There is absolutely no way she would neglect her horses. My two favorite horses Tradition and Jacob were the greatest horses I have ever known and that cant happen if there is abuse going on. I am actually going to try and follow in the owner's footsteps and start my own rescue operation. I am currently making plans for the business and plan on calling it Greener Pastures. I love this place and all the people and horses that reside there. And by the way there is this old saying that says ""Don't judge a book by its cover."" Maybe you AvidEquestrian should take a look into the business before making assumptions. Thank you. Pros: good environment for learning and fun Cons: gets a little muddy :) more

Loves the animals and kids 2/28/2010

This horse boarding farm is also a private horse rescue. They do not turn away any horse in need. There is a good heart and a lack of help. More people are needed to work pony rides and other events that help pay for the rescue portion of the business. Kids may work off their riding lessons by cleaning stalls, but they are not allowed to do half ass work, by any means and saying so is a real insult. No child that really wants to learn about horses and is willing to work is turned away because a parent cannot pay. Pros: no nonsense horseback riding instructor, dedicated to horses Cons: buildings and farm needs work and volunteers more

Wonderful People trying to help poor Abused Animals 7/10/2009

Most people commenting on this place in a negative way, I believe they don't understand that this is a rescue farm. They take these poor animals in from the ASPA (animal protection agency) and other places who have taken them away from people who abuse, beat, neglect, and who knows what else to innocent animals who can't care for themselves. Then you go there expecting to see what?? Grade A Breeding stock ?Instead of complaining, give them money for more feed or volunteer to help for a week before you judge. I guarantee you'll change your tune. Pros: Compassionate, Kind, Loving, Good hearted Cons: It costs a lot to help so many animals more

Bad business and poor conditions. 3/14/2008

*** REAL RESCUES HAVE CREDENTIALS! THIS WOMAN HAS NONE! Ask for her 501c3- She has none, meaning she slaps the title 'rescue' on her hoarding.**** This place is a disaster to say the least. Animals are under weight, poorly cared for and subject to the owners bad temper. The place is unsafe and unsanitary. She is a bad business owner who concerns herself with money often times before the animals. She has good intentions, but good intentions dont help animals that need it. Horse stalls were left uncleaned for days. Horses were kept in large #'s in small pens, mud up to their knees. Try and dispute it. The fact it, this place is a POS.
