Worst

I'm giving this place two stars because they do have good food, but we have always had to wait a long time to be served. Although, we've always bee...

If paying by credit card. Check your balance afterward. 6/1/2009

Ate there for the first time couple weeks ago with my daughter. Great food. Fair service. I paid with my VISA card. Checked my balance 2 weeks later and found that I paid for 3 times what I owe. $31.45 was the amount. Then I guess the cashier "mistakenly" added $62.45 for which I didn't get a receipt. Luckily I check my balance monthly. Called the restaurant on Monday and was told the manager doesn't work until Wednesday. more

Great Food and Service 1/21/2009

Best biscuits and gravy I've had in a restaurant...I've never had anything less than average service, and that was only when the place was packed. The last time I was there with my family, the food came out very quickly, and our waitress was very attentive without being obnoxious. The portions are also huge...my brother is 19 and 6'4" and needless to say it takes a lot to fill him up. He never goes home hungry after eating here. more

Horrible Service and they called the Cops on US! 1/4/2009

I used to like McCraes, I even told my family to go there because I liked it, they all hated it, saying that they had horrible service, and it took an hour to get their food. I used to think they were over reacting, until January 1st 2009. My husband, my 8 month old daughter, and I went, my daughter was getting tired, and after an hour and a half, we still hadn't received our food. She was getting fussy because it was taking forever, so I called my parents who lived down the street to come pick her up and take her home to nap, bad idea it turns out. When they arrived, my husband took her out, put her in her carseat, and my parents took our car home, and left theirs, he came back in, and we finished our meal. Surprise Surprise, 2 hours after we got home from our 2 hour adventure at McCraes, 4 cops show up at our door, saying that the management at McCraes called them saying we left our baby in the car while we ate!! I was/am still furious with them. They didn't ask us or mention anything to us while we were there, they didn't even look at our car, they just watched us finish our meal, thinking we were neglecting our daughter, and took down my mom's car's license plate as we left. We had to explain the situation to the cops, who fortunately understood, and were also irritated that the manager didn't just ask us personally instead of called the cops on us. Needless to say I, nor ANY of my family, are EVER returning to that horrible, awful place. Had their service not sucked so horribly, none of this would have happened. It was their fault we even had to have our daughter taken home, and then THEY have the NERVE to accuse us of child neglect! I take my job as a full-time mother very seriously, and am hurt by these false allegations from these idiotic people. And to think, we even left a tip! If you go here with kids, you better announce everything you're doing to them, cause they may think you're abusing your children or something. Please don't waste your time here. more

Enough food to feed an army 12/29/2005

Country cafe is a very appropriate name for McCrae's breakfast menu servings. If you were going to spend all day working on the farm, you would need a large hearty breakfast. For most of us though, you might enjoy only a portion of their plateful. But then you can take the rest home, or better yet share with your family. My husband and I can simply order for us and have enough to share with our kids. The service is excellent and they don't forget to keep filling that coffee mug. Great traditional breakfast food is standard at MacCrae’s. They are not open for dinner and I have never tried their lunches... I would mostly recommend them for their large yummy breakfasts. more

More Than Enough 12/14/2005

One of our family favorites on Sunday morning! More than enough food on one plate to feed two people. The place is clean, the service is good and very friendly. A very wide selection, from breakfast to lunch. They do not serve dinner, but that is because everyone is so full from eating there earlier in the day. It is a family owned business and they make it very family orientated place to be. more
