Genuine, Caring, Excellent Care 7/18/2007

The staff at Austin Pain Associates is by far the most caring of anywhere I've been. The doctor I saw was sincerely concerned with my case, and I'm well on my way to getting back to where I used to be. I would definitely recommend Austin Pain Associates to any pain sufferer. more

Totally different perspective 5/7/2007

I've never been so happy with a doctor, since I started being treated here. The entire staff, doctors, nurses, reception, billing, P.A.s, everyone is epathetic and has a real desire to improve your quality of life. I've been in pain for 18 years, and for the first time, I'm filled with hope. Every visit lessens the pain, more and more. I've been VERY impressed!!! -kelsonator more

Very Happy With The Care I Get. 4/15/2007

I have been a patient of the Austin Pain Associates for many years. In fact when I first was asked to see them I wanted to get a Dr. closer to home. But once I saw the Dr. there I decided it was worth the 85 mile drive to see someone who finally understands the pain I was in. He tried several different treatments until he finally found the one to help me with my pain. I have a spinal stimulator implanted in my spine and it works wonders for me. Yes, I still have to take my pain pills at times. But not like I did before the implant was put in. I have read the other inputs and I also had to sign a form stating that I would not use any other pharmacy but the one I told them about. Being a nurse myself, I can understand this since people would go to other Drs. and get their pain pills refilled at several different pharmacies, there fore have double or even triple supplies of the pain meds at times. By doing this they can regulate the prescriptions. And by law they should be doing this. I also don't get to see the Dr. on my visits, but the PA. always goes to talk to the Dr. if there is a problem, he reviews the situation, and gives the treatment plan to the PA. I know all Drs. can not please all but I myself am very pleased with the care I get here and will continue to go here as long as my insurance allows me to do so. Bernie P more

Paraded like a herd of cattle............. 3/1/2007

I had heard these doctors were very good....... and on my first visit I saw a doctor. He was very thorough and I presented all my records from the last four years of pain management. I was on a muscle relaxer, narcotic pain reliever, and other medications. The doctor wrote a prescription for a new medication and also for the same ones I have been on for the four years of pain management. I was to see them once a month for my meds. I was supposed to have my pharmacy fax a request for refills which was the same time as my doctor visit......I never saw a doctor again, just a physicians assistant, even if I requested to see the doctor.......they would tell me I would have to wait for an opening which could be up to several months away........ The PA would not write a prescription, just told me to have the request faxed from the pharmacist. I had to sign a form for one pharmacy and not use any other one while being seen at this clinic. I went through this problem of not knowing if I would have enough medication to last for a month until my next office visit.....this happened each month and I was terrified of beginning to go through withdrawal as I had been on these meds. for a five years for chronic back pain after fusion surgery. I always felt as I was in a herd of people, just run through the door at the called time. Most of the time there was a crowd of people, and no where to sit. I never saw anyone at the appointment time. I had to wait at least thirty min. to an hour each time, sometimes even longer.....this was difficult since it was hard for me to stand for any length of time. I could not take being treated this way, so I found another pain management office which is a wonderful difference than Austin Pain Associates. I would not recommend to this clinic to anyone. It was terrible and I felt the office staff could care less about me as a real perso; to them I was just another number Please, please be very careful if you decide to go here. I read the first review and they were telling the truth about this pain clinic......... more
