Best

What a wonderful treat mars 2112 was! From the space shuttle trip entrance to mars, to the molecular regenerator exit to earth, it was all an exquisite dining experience. The atmo...

Worst

This place is worth a visit for it's unique atmosphere. Kids would love it especially, but don't come here if you're hungry. The food is horrible and overpriced.

i cant believe this place is still in business! 2/16/2012

and I can testify as a former employee that the bad reviews here are valid - the food is cheaply made - the kitchen is filthy - the staff are overworked and treated like garbage. Horrible place - you are better off going to Bubba Gump or Planet Hollywood if you want that kind of Times Square experience. more

mars in nyc 1/5/2012

went here with my mother and my cousin as i like to go to themed restaurants. The decor was nice and really could make someone feel like they were at mars but everything has its price to pay. The food was overprice and our wait time was ASTRONOMICAL. They had us waiting in the game area for at least 40 minutes before they sat us, which they did not tell us about, which had my mother extremely agitated. more

Okay 12/1/2011

I've been here 4 times and I don't think I'll be back. When you first go in, you pay the $2 or $3 dollar entertainment fee for the ""spaceship"" that takes you to the restaurant. The first two times I went it was working and was pretty fun! The other two times it was not working and we still had to paid the fee. The service is okay. They have some mars characters walking around that interact with kids. The first time we went they did some dancing and that was pretty great! The first time (back in 2006) and the last time I went (in 2011) were the better times. Service was pretty good... very friendly, attentive but not overly. The two middle times I went weren't so good. They took my order wrong. I asked for chicken parm and they gave me a fish sandwich. I ate it anyways since I work in food business and I know what it's like but either way I didn't order that. It was pretty good however. The menu is also way too short and overpriced. The waiters also vanished afterwards. The last 3 times I've been there NOBODY was there.... not a single tourist in sight. However, if Brad Pitt is in town, you might want to go here. Brad Pitt is ALWAYS here with his kids. If you plan to go, I also recommend the frozen lemonade - excellent! more

great kids meal for the whole family 12/3/2010

had the best time with the kids at this family style restaurant and could not be happier with the service and the food, and the kids had a blast which is why you would go there.. more

Dissapointment 11/24/2010

The prices are high for no reason . . you can get better quality food in your local diner or grocery store. more

um, no thanks... 9/1/2010

Bad, over priced food. Over priced arcade. Weird looking place, like a b-movie set. Odd costumed employees. ewww more

DO NOT LAND ON MARS! 5/24/2010

I wish I'd read the other reviews on here before going there! I didn't know there was a $2/person admission fee! Who pays an admission fee to go to a restaurant? The space ride was fun for the kids but not a big deal overall. Pros: Service was good Cons: Overpriced, not clean, food not fresh...I could go on and on more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY 1/10/2010

I'M APPALLED AT HOW DISGUSTING AND EXPENSIVE THE FOOD IS. I WANT MY MONEY BACK. THERE IS NOT EVEN A CONTACT ON THEIR SITE. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY...BETTER OFF EATING ANYWHERE BUT HERE. ITS SOOOO OVERATED AND WHO CHARGES 2 DOLLARS A PERSON FOR ADMISSION. TRUST ME, COSTCO'S FROZEN CHICKEN NUGGETS ARE GOURMET COMPARED TO WHAT THEY SERVE. I WAS RIPPED OFF AND I DEMAND AN APOLOGY AND A REFUND FROM THE OWNER. YOU ARE A FOOL IF YOU STILL GO. Cons: EXPENSIVE, GROSS FOOD, DARK AND DIRTY more

Terrible! Waste of $$ and time!!! 12/20/2009

Nothing was good at this place. Brought the kids there for a fun night and some decent food and didn't get either one! The place is dark... this is ALWAYS for a reason! It was cold in there too! The service was amateur at best, food was barely 'o.k.', the so-called 'ride' to get there was grossly dirty and the screen to watch the 'film' on was filthy... with a picture of the twin towers! now -come on! AND they charge $2 admission fee per person!!!! For what?!?!? Do NOT waste your time and $.... SOOO many other places to go that will provide the kids with plenty of entertainment and with good food! Giving it one star b/c I couldn't give zero! Pros: None. Cons: Everything! Atmosphere, food, facility, bathroom, prices... more

waste of time & money 11/30/2009

this place had a bad smell and was filthy but they keep it dark so you can't notice the dirt. and a long wait to get on the the spaceship ride that takes you up to the main part. Cons: everything more

SUCKS!!! 11/14/2009

There were 9 in our party (7 adults and 2 children), the waitress was impatient, and not very good at her job. We ordered drinks, and were missing one, one other was not the right one. We ordered 2 appetizers, and were brought 1 that we did not order, and it took about 20 mins to get someone (not our waitress, because she could not be found), to help. It took an additional 20 minutes to get the right appetizer, and then we had to ask them to please get us dishes and napkins, as we had a sampler for 4. Immediately after receiving the correct appetizer, our lunch appeared, not allowing us the opportunity to eat the appetizers. Once the orders came, two were supposed to be bacon cheeseburgers, and we got 2 burgers, when we told the person, they returned them to the kitchen and brought them back about 10 mins later, each with a cold slice of cheese, and what appeared to be either raw bacon, or bacon that was half cooked a day earlier. We decided not to order desert. To top off the insult and bad service, our order came to $300 for cheeseburgers and wraps , which included 18% mandatory gratuity which the waitress obviously did not deserve. We will NEVER return to that establishment again. I gave it one star because I couldn't put in less. Cons: Pricey, the service is terrible and so is the food more

Do not go here. 10/13/2009

This restaurants decor was made to resemble outer space, which may have looked cool back when they first built it out but the place is now falling apart. Its dark in there, most likely to make the place look better and so the customers won't see how dirty and unkept this place is. Lines are long and there is a cheesy space ride. Food was very very bland. McDonalds can even do better. This may be a good place for a 5 year old that doesn't know any better, but last time I checked kids that young don't go to restaurants on their own. Parents will definitely feel ripped off. Pros: Nothing Cons: Tacky, overpriced, bland food, rude service. more

Not worth it 8/7/2009

First of all is a charged admission, still trying to figure out why. The waitress wasn't friendly and she made us to pass the drinks each other. She didn't let us get the child menu for my 12 year daughter and friends, maybe in Mars a 12 years old is not a kid?. Then I find a bone in my breast chicken club sandwich and when I claim to the waitress about this she said chickens are supossed to have bones. She was so rude. At the arcade my card was stuck in the game and there wasn't anyone around to help us. NEVER GO BACK. Cons: overpriced, bad service, bad food more

READ THIS B4 GOING!!! 8/7/2009

first i would like to say i went with my camp and it was awful! Pros: nothing Cons: service, pricing, atmosphere to make it simple everything more

Mars 2112 7/15/2009

Bathroom was grosssss. the lady in the bathroom wanted money and then help you wash your hands. iI don't know what she's called, but my mommy said that's classy for a usual manhattan retsuraunt. I ha dmy birthday party here in 2001 when I turned 14....... Located near times square. Heat is on too much in summer and air conditioner is blasting too high in the winter, crazy. Rooms are reddish and dark like mars, I can barely see a thing. It's like my sunglassesin the dark. Lots of balloons and birthday parties here. Pros: They make you feel like you are really on mars.......... Cons: noisy, crowded, slow service more

Do i have to rate it!! 5/3/2009

Mars 2112 sounds like a great place to eat and bring your family! Don't listen! I went on a dramma trip with my cast of my school. we went there to eat and there was no where to sit! A lady told us that we had one section and she woulnd'nt open up one table for us. she told us there was one seat over there and another over there! she yelled at us making a scene in front of the entire resterant! I can see 7 tables but one table! thats ridiculous!after i ate the food and Iacually threw up! more

An Overpriced Chuck E. Cheese 12/26/2008

What a disappointment! It starts with a virtual ride to the dining room--I was traveling with a skiddish small child and asked to bypass this one; the less-than-enthusiastic staff assured me the ""fear factor"" was low, yet mine screamed for the entire 5 minute ride as the cabin shook and rocket blasters boomed in our ears. There is a large, poorly lit seating area with unfamiliar alien characters that circulate throughout--another element that wasn't very popular with my little one. In the background, a large animated segment is projected on the wall and repeats loudly every 5-10 minutes--the noise from this was mind-numbing--no escaping it, either. The food choices are comparable to an ""everywhere USA"" chain restaurant...at 3X the price! My daughter's meal of burnt grilled cheese & cold fries cost $12, while my charred blue cheese burger rang in at $20. Every meal includes a ""free"" admission to the adjacent game room, but there is a $2 surcharge added to your meal for this service whether you use it or not. Overall, I can't discourage you enough from trying this place...if you're looking for a family-friendly establishment in Times Square that serves overpriced kid cuisine, stick with the Burger King on 42nd Street. Pros: Designed for kids Cons: Very cliche', overpriced, noisy more

WEIRD HOURS 12/18/2008

I was supposed to go there for a birthday party at 8 pm, and when some of the people from the party arrived at 7:45, the restaurant informed them that they close at 8!!! However, the individual who had planned the party had spoken to the restaurant various times regarding dinner that evening, and Mars 2112 never mentioned that they had ridiculous hours. In addition, the employee at the door who told us it was closing at 8 was EXTREMELY rude. They need better customer service! Cons: Rude Service! more

STAY ON EARTH 8/6/2008

To be short and sweet: Pros: great atmosphere very fun Cons: overpriced average food average service more

Terrible 5/21/2008

Terrible, disgusting.....would never go back. Went to this place, and the food was not good, waitress not friendly. Manager was no better. Would not recommend to my enemy more
