The dad was great but i have to agree the son messed up my car needed a altenator, i had to go pay for it and he installed wrong . now having to go to another mechanic tried to do brake job on my car when i didnt ask him to look at them. and did look and act like he was on somethinghad car for three days work two jobs and cant afford to have to pay another mechanic son is working off of san pedro road please dont take vehicle there, he just says he will give u a good deal . best deal for u is never go there more

Hi, I'm Susan and I recently in the past few months went to Richard Malin's car center off hildebrand ave in San antonio, TX. Richard is a stand up guy, hard of hearing but a good guy. Although do NOT ever let his son, Rich AKA Richy, work on your vehicle! He tends to be sloppy and misses pieces to your car and uses tape to cover it up, or just leaves it broken... I went for an oil change and some new tires to be put on and he couldn't even do that right! Understand I am a single mother with 2 children to take care of working two jobs. I didn't have time to spend leaving my car for 3 days in his shop! His prices are ridiculous unless you have drugs to exchange for his service. He might put on a nice face but in the end he will do more damage to your vehicle than you had in the first place. watch out everyone! I used this car center several times. They were always honest and affordable. Now a days, it is really hard to find the mechanics who do not rip off the customers. However, this shop always give me a very affordable solution and work on their best. Highly recommended!! Pros: Honest, Affordable, Good work Cons: Cigarette smell in waiting area. more

To be truthful, I have not taken my vehicle to Malin's. I have, however; dropped off a friend and coworker there several times to reprair their terminally ill vehicle. These guys always come through in a decent amont of time and at a great price. They have been around for along time and have a good history. When I do need a mechanic (and I will) this is the place I'm taking my car. Pros: centrally located and easy to find (Hildebrand) Cons: may not be in a conveninet location for everyone... more
