I usually love Makino Chaya even though the price isn't cheap because the quality use to be good with the steak and the scallops. I took my fiancee there for his graduation and the food is not good anymore. They no longer have the scallops and instead they have dry lobster that they overcook and then put it on the grill just to make it extra dry. The steak isn't as good as it was a couple of years ago either. We went right when they opened because they normally are busy and they were dead the whole time and it was a Friday. I think a lot of people found out ahead of time and have stopped coming. The tempura was cold when they opened and the crab isn't as good as it once was either. Think twice before going to Makino Chaya, I have not been to the Pearl City Makino Chaya, so I can not review for them.
