Best

Love the Luscious Salad. The greens are always crisp, the chicken and hard boiled egg fresh and cooked just right. Good dressing, bacon and blue cheese. On time delivery.

Sooo dissapointed. I've ordered from them since 2010 and its as if it doesn't count for anything. I always order the same thing and have to deal with the mean and snobby attitude because i like their food, but when you start messing with the food itself, its when you loose me. I ordered a drink, and I got another cheaper drink instead. Also I ordered a fresh mozarella sandwich and I got something half the size of its original size because i chose a different bread. Moreover when I called to complain they didnt care and pretty much made me think that its my fault... I have one advise for them. Please leave the neighboorhood. We have no patience for bad food and horrible service. more

grumpy place, comfort food 4/20/2011

when luscious first opened, I was in love with the idea of this place. and the name. I hoped for the best.\r \r however, I have eaten here about ten times and each time I have left feeling either regret, or neutrality, never delighted. and ""delighted"" is absolutely realistic in this neighborhood, from sumptuous Convivium just across the street, to the crabcakes and all the amazing clream cheeses at Bergen Bagel down on flatbush, and the sweet ladies serving and cooking at the corner diner just down the way on 5th. \r \r it is not too much to ask to have a truly pleasant staff. my absolute unverified understanding is that owners, a married couple, are behind the counter working all day as well as managing, and they are grumpy and smileless folks. this combined with the well-meaning but rather clueless younger staff = nervous energy abounds. \r \r the cupcakes are ridiculously fatty and rich, try chocolate room down the street for delicate, perfect and not going to give you a stomachache cupcakes.\r \r mac and cheese is either yummy or weirdly oversalted--it's completely hit or miss.\r \r the coffee's good, but the coffee is also good at other places nearby.\r \r in general, don't get your hopes up, and if you must, run in, and order to-go. more

Great Tasting Food!! Also Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies 8/27/2010

A neighborhood gem! Luscious Foods always has great food and a terrific staff. I eat the Salmon at least once a week...as well as the Apricot Turkey. My husband loves the Meatballs as well as the Mole Chicken. All the sides are great, my favorites are the mashed potatoes, potato salad and for those who are Gluten Free..the Quinoa salad. Oh, The Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies are the only Gluten Free Cookies I eat..they are so tasty. We are so lucky to have Luscious Food (and staff) on Fifth Ave. more

The best cuban sandwich! 8/10/2009

I was conducting business in the neighborhood when I passed by this cute little gourmet sandwich shop. I went in and asked the person behind the counter what he would reccomend on the menu. He suggested the cuban sandwich if I liked more hearty food and something else that I dont remember if I liked more gourmet. I decided to have the cuban sandwich which was the best I ever had. The service was great and the place was clean. I couldnt ask for more! Pros: Great service, great food, convenient location more

decent quality but a poor deal 9/13/2008

I was astounded to pay alomst 9 dollars for the smallest wrap i have ever purchased at a deli in NY. The ingredients were fresh and the flavor was decent, though decidedly salty. I admit I was sorely dissapointed Pros: Nice location Cons: everything else more

Well worth the price. Big, fresh salads and delicious sandwiches. I've never had a bad order from here. more

Excellent Sides - Huge Portions 9/6/2007

Whenever I visit Luscious Food, I bring an appetite - their sides options are beyond delicious and heaping in size. They also have a nice selection of imported goodies and local iced teas. The staff is casual and friendly and it's always a quiet, homey atmosphere. more

Stop by... 5/16/2007

Although, this is my first time message, I had to write a review for this place. I can say confidentially that 'Luscious Foods' not only has great food but the staff that works there is the best. If you?re coming home from work and you want to grab a bite this is the place to stop at. Great home cooked meals to go and not to miss the carrot cake cupcakes for dessert (and I don't like carrot cake). Did I mention the staff is the best?when I went there for the first time I wanted to get food for later that night (didn?t want them to warm it up in the store)?since I am new to the area I don?t have a microwave so I was stuck, so I thought?the lady was nice enough to give me an oven safe dish to warm up my food. Wow?what service?ever since then Luscious is #1 in my book? more

Chocolate Chip Cookies to die for--and healthy stuff, too 3/7/2007

Here you will find: the world's best chocolate chip cookies, fabulous and beautiful cupcakes, great salads, terrific pork sandwiches, and many other treasures. The side plates of vegetables are great--amazingly, they manage to serve a cauliflower that is quite delicious (no mean feat where cauliflower is concerned). We takeout regularly and are always greeted warmly by the owners. The only problem is that they often fail to heat hot foods to an appropriate temperature. Not sure what's up with that. Pros: Truly delicious food; varied menu suits many moods; cookies rule more

Wonderful Comfort Food 2/20/2007

I order from Luscious at least 3 times a week and I think their food is Terrific! I just ate the meatloaf and it is incredible, like a giant meatball with gravy, but all of their dinner specials remind me of what my mom would have made (but better, sorry mom!). Sometimes I get one of their big salads for dinner, I love the Luscious Salad with chicken & bacon. My husband is a vegetarian so we regularly get the 3 sides deal for $10. He absolutely loves the variety. Lately, they have had more desserts which are a real treat. more

Grossed Out - 2/16/2007

I absolutely agree. These positive reviews must have been written by the owners of this place. The food is terrible. I've ordered several vegetable plates (six or so vegetables altogether), and everything tasted exactly the same: like oil drenched sponge. I felt sick afterwards. They should realize the tastelessness of their food and hire a new chef. more

Not worth the cold food and attitude 5/16/2006

I don't understand these glowing reviews. The food's all right, at best, but the attitude of the workers/owners is annoying, like they're doing me a favor for inadequately heating the lasagna. The main courses are good, but the sides are worth leaving behind. Combined w/ the attitude, it's just not worth it. Pros: Main courses Cons: Expensive, Attitude more

Welcome to Brooklyn Lusciuos! 4/26/2005

The food, the atmosphere, and the store appearance are just a small number of the things that make Lucsious Foods a great place to eat and a wonderful addition to the neighborhood! Pros: FOOD, ATMOSPHERE, ITEMS TO BUY more

Thanks Luscious Ladies 4/25/2005

The soups are one of my many favorites, next is the secret spread (I put it on all my sandwichs), olives, salads, spoon cornbread (oh the guilt), chocolate chip cookies (more guilt), irish cheddar cheese. I'll stop now, I'm getting hungry. The ladies are great, the store is airy and fun. I'm from the other side of Bklyn and I travel to the store weekly, and enjoy it. Pros: good parking, fair price more

Long overdue addition to Park Slope's 5th Ave 4/17/2005

I cannot rave enough about this place: One-stop shopping for takeout and gourmet items on 5th Ave. in Park Slope-FINALLY! Lots of the menu items and other foods for sale are homemade. I have had a couple of the sandwiches and salads on the menu--all of the ingredients are super fresh and high quality, plus it's a handy place to pick-up top o' the line cheeses and meats and other snacks for entertaining. Even though it's mainly for takeout, there are a few tables and the place has a cozy, cheerful feel to it. Pros: Great food, Convenient to train, friendly more

Sooooo Luscious! 4/17/2005

The sandwiches are sublime and the atmosphere is bright and lively. I love getting one of their daily dinner specials to take home and enjoy after work. My favorite things on the menu are the cuban mojo, slow roasted beef (order it hot!!!!) , french herb roasted chicken and meatloaf dinners and scrumptious. I can't wait for the backyard to open just in time for the nice weather. more
