The staff at Luba's Salon are dedicated to making you feel welcome and comfortable the minute you enter their salon, as well as paying special attention to your hair to ensure you leave looking fabulous. The attention to detail Arthur gave me while both coloring and cutting my hair was impeccable, and never before have I been so pleased with a color/cut. I will definitely be going back again and again for both the great hair care and the warm, family-style atmosphere. I would reccomend them to anyone! I was very happy with the service at Luba's. Everyone was friendly but not pushy, and Stanley constantly asked questions and requested feedback. I felt very comfortable. more

Great Service and Atmosphere 5/13/2004

THIS PLACE IS GREAT!!!! I highly reccomend this place , because not only the service is great, but the atmosphere is very welcoming. I went there for the first time not knowing what I exactly wanted, but they suggested a style for me that framed my face very well. more

Stanly is my new Color Guru 5/6/2004

Living in Boston, I treat myself to having my hair done in NYC while in town. I always went to the same person, but not regularly due to average results. However, I having been dissatisfied with my last two visits to my former colorist in Mid-Town, I decided to throw caution to the wind and check out what was on CitySearch and found CitySearch recommendation from a client of Stanly at Luba's. All I can say, is Stanly almost knows what you want before you say it. And not only does he know what will look best (within your expressed wishes) he also delivers superior work. And to top it off, he is a real sweetheart. I will GLADLY make regular trips to NYC from Boston just have him do my color. Stanly, you are my hero!! Luba's -13 terrific years 5/1/2004

For the last 13 years Luba has been doing my high and low lights. My hair has always looked beautiful and natural even as it is growing out. Invariably, when I have had to go to another hair dresser for a quick trim, I'm asked ""who does your color, it's gorgeous. Other women have asked what I do to keep my hair so healthy and shiny with coloring and all I say is ""I go to Luba."" Also it's great to see her very handsome sons, Arthur and Stanley, learning her particular skills and being just as attentive and caring with their customers. Excellent Place! 4/28/2004

One Saturday about 3 years ago my former hairstylist from the Oscar Blandi salon has refused to take me after I was late 15 minutes for my appointment. As I had a fundraiser to go to, I desperately needed help with my wavy hair. It was about 6 pm or so, and every single salon I would call, would refuse to take me without an apoint. In total desperation I walked up on Lex and saw Luba's salon. They took me w/out the apoint. I was very pleased with the job Stanley did to straighten my hair. Since that day, I have been going to Luba's regularly and it has been always a delightful experience. They are very professional and do an excellent job. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs an excellent service. Thank you, Luba, Stanley and Arthur! more

I LOVE THIS PLACE! 4/25/2004

What a find!! I took the advise of a Citysearch recommendation and was not let down. The stylist took great care to make sure that I got what I wanted and in the end it came out fabulous! I finally have the blonde hair that I always TRY to get when I go to the salon, but never seems to come out the way that I want. The were so nice and when I said that I was in a bit of a hurry, I had BOTH brothers blow-drying my hair at once....talk about celebrity treatment...I will definately be back! The best color and service in Manhattan!! With fair price!! Not meant to rip off but they sincerely are there to serve you and they care about a job well done!! I have not had been such a more ""natural"" looking blond since I was a young girl! Signed a very young loooking 39 year old :) I highly recommend this Salon! more

The Best 3/19/2004

If you want the best in color, cut, japanese straightening - or any of the newest, up-to-date methods of hair styling, go to Luba's. There's no one better. She and her two sons, Stanley and Arthur, not only give you the best hair cut, but there are no better stylists to color your hair. I will go to no other salon in New York. I've recommended many of my friends to to to Luba's She's conveniently located, the atmosphere is great, and you're pampered for a few hours - what could be better!! more

I highly recommend Luba's 3/11/2004

I moved to NYC in '95 from Dallas, very used to the best service at fine salons. I was a walk-in at a west-side salon where Luba was working. She gave me a great haircut and highlights. I continued going to her when she opened Luba's Salon on Lexington Avenue. I love the family atmosphere, her warmth, and the excellent cut and color she gives. With her sons working at the Salon, it is truly a family affair. She was on a well-deserved vacation recently, and I had one of the boys cut my hair and I have to tell you it is a great cut! I now live in Connecticut, and I drive into the city just to have my cut and highlights done at Luba's. I highly recommend Luba's salon! Pros: Fair prices, Good location, Great attitude more
