We discovered the Aqua Lotus and stayed here several times. The Pros: Good location away from the Waikiki crowds and chaos, near a beach, very helpful friendly staff, nightly wine tasting, and comfortable clean rooms. Cons: You'll want a car as there aren't many restaurants or eating options within walking distance.
