I've been dining weekly at Lopez since I moved to the area about a year ago. The food is always good, the portions are generous, and the prices are a great bargain.

Outstanding for years!!! 7/2/2003

My wife and I have been eating at Lopez Restaurant for the last 10 years. We have tried everything on the menu at one time or another and have never left without being full and satisfied. The standouts are the mexican style chile rellenos, the ribeye or t-bone steak with ranchero sauce and my wifes fav, the good ole tex-mex plates. Mr. Lopez will offer you a friendly greeting or come by your table when he is there and the service is always fabulous...Happinesss is Lopez!!!! my family moved to sugar land 5 years ago. by accident, we discovered lopez. this is the best accident we have ever had. the family is great. the food is outstanding and a great value. we feel as if we have become part of the family. each time we visit is an excellent experience. we have recommended lopez to friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc. we will continue to do so. keep up the good work.... keep those fajitas and chile relleno coming. my son says the quesadilla's are super too!!! NACHOS!! 4/26/2003

This is the place for the nachos...I am an absolute nut about nachos and VERY picky. Lopez has accomodated all my changes to the ingredients to make the perfect plate of nachos. I reccomend adding grilled onions to them. more

Best in the Southwest 8/12/2002

Absolutly the BEST mexican food in Houston. They have a great wait staff. Your food is out promptly and exactly to your order. Nothing on the menu is bad. It is very clean. Definatly recommend it to a friend. Pros: Great Wait Staff, Good Location, Inexpensive more

Mexicana T-bone Steak Best Value 7/13/2002

Either you love Lopez (the majority) or you just don't get it. I didn't get it the 1st 4 time I went. Go by it everyday and a line out the door almost everyday. The regular Mexican food is average and pricey. But people still kept say this place is great so I kept going back over a 7-year period. Finally I got it, don't order the regular stuff order the Mexican T-bone Steak. It tastes great, priced under $11 and a hearty portion. Cant beat it at this price. Been back 3 times in the last 6 months and that makes for a total of 7 times in 7 years. Still don't like to wait to be seated though. Long-standing, great mexican food 6/1/2002

I have been going to Lopez for over 20 years, and they have never let me down. I even had my wedding rehearsal dinner there. The food is always tasty, the margaritas always zippy, the hotsauce spicey, and the management/staff always friendly. Good family place to go.
