Great experience - shocked at negative reviews 8/1/2011

Sadly, the death of a loved one is something that nobody wants to experience. My family buried our father after he had a stroke - it was a truly disheartening experience. Thankfully, Alla was there for us the whole time and helped us every step of the way during our difficult time. I am truly surprised at some of these negative reviews... Alla and her caring staff truly took care of me. Although I didn't agree with some of the staff of the other funeral home (there are two located in the building), Alla's staff did everything to make sure I had a positive experience. more

Bad funeral experience 5/13/2011

I am writing to inform you of how utterly disgusted and appalled I am at the service and treatment of my family during my brother's funeral arrangements. During the service, one of your staff was sitting in an office texting on his phone with the door wide open for everyone to see. Another staff who was supposed to be opening the door for visitors was only doing so less than half the time. In addition to this total lack of respect, during the planning of the service, you provided very little assistance. more

Dishonest people. Bad service. Lisovetsky should not be trusted. Besides other reviews here seem fake. more

Truly Caring 4/11/2011

Recently, my grandmother passed away, and I was struck with grief. Seeing their commercial on TV, I contacted Lisovetsky Memorial Home in hopes that they would be able to help me in my time of need. Immediately, Alla, the owner, picked up the phone. She guided me through all of the steps I needed to complete and was very caring. The service went great and Lisovetsky truly cared about me and my family. Even with all this, Lisovetsky still offered the best price around. I recommend them one hundred and fifty percent! more

Should not be trusted 10/8/2010

These people are dishonest about their charges and promises. I would not recommend Lisovetsky Memorial Home. more

  • Lisovetsky Memorial Home is housed in a very symbolic location - it is located in the same building where New York's first Jewish funeral home was founded more than 150 years ago. Lisovetsky Memorial Home is the first memorial home founded for the Russian-speaking community and is located in downtown Brooklyn. Alla Lisovetsky came to America from Nikolaev (Ukraine) in 1992.Armed with motivation of creating a truly unique ethnic establishment, Alla founded Lisovetsky Memorial Home in 2008. Over the years Lisovetsky become an integral part of the community of immigrants from the former Soviet Union. You can speak your native language in a difficult moment of losing loved ones, and be confident that you will be comfortably taken care of.
