Linda Rockwell, Attorney

Linda is a delightful person, unfortunately she was a totally ineffective advocate. Linda would always talk a good game and express a great deal of confidence, however, in front of Judge Whitefield, she was a disaster. She never won a single motion and Whiteflield seemed to ignore her. My case dragged on for two years and Linda was powerless to accomplish anything. Only after brining in another attorney was I able to get the case to trial where the judge just split everything in half. Linda charged about $75K for services that did nothing to resolve my case. Furthermore, she allowed a worthless GAL and a discovery master to ring up another $25k in fees. I interviewed several other attorneys when replacing her and nobody had a kind word to say about her. more

Linda Rockwell knows her stuff, is unafraid to go to court but skilled enough to avoid it when it is in the best interests of the client, and wise enough to know the difference. A rare bird. more

Having come up against her, of course my opinion is less than favorable... but not because of her knowledge. I dislike her style because she is needlessly inflammatory and just plain nasty. In a divorce, it makes sense for the separating parties to work together when there are children involved, especially young children. Ms. Rockwell encourages my ex to refuse to talk to me, refuse to work with me in ANY way whatsoever, and makes things very difficult on my two children (ages 4 and 5). She also does not respond to communication and generally does not work well with others, in my experience. I'm sure she's friendly as can be to her clients, and if you are more interested in sticking it to your ex than being free of the whole situation, she'd be a great lawyer for you. But if you actually want some peace and sanity and your divorce proceedings to end quickly, she's definitely not the way to go. Everything has dragged on for years now, almost entirely because of her refusal to negotiate, her refusal to communicate, and her encouragement of my ex to behave the same way. more

Ms. Rockwell is a wonderful, compassionate attorney who can clearly explain legal issue to non-legal types. She has a very relaxed demeanor, but definately knows her stuff. She is well worth the price she charges! Ms. Rockwell was able to negotiate a fair settlement in my situation that has worked now for nearly seven years. more
