Absolutely horrible experience in every way and still not resolved. We were promised, and I mean assured, that the fixture would be delivered within 10 days. We were very clear that we needed it within that time frame and we would not purchase it without that assurance. That was 2 months ago. Six weeks after purchasing a chandelier which I was told would be ready for pick up in 2 weeks, and I'm still waiting. I called today and was told it would be another two weeks. This is the first time I'm hearing it's on back order. They couldn't be bothered to let me know until now. And even then there was no apology, explanation, nothing. This place should be avoided at all cost. My wife and I had to wait more than 2 months to get our fixtures delivered. When we finally got the merchandise, we found out that that the fixtures were scratched. My wife pointed it out to one of the sales folks and the store manager started yelling at her. The manager's name is Joe Horowitz and he is UTTERLY RUDE and obnoxious. He was trying to convince us that the fixtures were in a sellable condition. After having to listen to his nonsense and threats, we managed to resolve this issue through the customer service --- though it took us another month. It was absolutely a horrible experience. This place is unethical and unprofessional and I would highly recommend avoiding them at all costs. They delivered us a broken light and three months later, we still have a broken light and the company refuses to give us our money back. This was after we had left about 20 messages which went unreturned. As for the light, they told us that they don't care if we throw it away (literally) and that I should call the supplier directly. If you read the reviews on New York Magazine, Lighting by Gregory is notorious for its unethical business practices. Do not buy from them. more

Of all the internet purchases I have made this is by far the worst experiance. Lighting By Gregory charged my credit card for the purchase even though they did not have the merchandise in stock, customer service does not answer the phone and they seldom respond to e-mails. After 1 1/2 months they fianlly picked up the telephone and indicated it might be another month before they could deliver the merchandise. Why advertise it if you don't have it???? Internet shopping is risky, and chances are greater you'll need to return the products you buy. DO NOT SHOP HERE. BUY YOUR LIGHTING PRODUCTS SOMEWHERE ELSE! DO NOT buy from this company. I recommend going to the 100's of other websites for your lighting! I am an interior designer and order ALOT of lighting online. They sent the wrong sconce to me and to get customer service to call you back is next to impossible. I sent 3 emails and called twice before I could reach an answer and then I was told that there is a 50% restocking fee for the sconces that they sent wrong!!! Not good customer service - don't risk it. more

We spent over $5k on lighting there in the past year, and each time were frustrated by the general rudeness of the staff but put up with it because the products were so good. Just went back this week to start another renovation, and this time the sales clerk was so rude I just gave up and took the whole order to another store entirely (which, btw, has an equally GREAT selection). My recommend: take it elsewhere. You can get the same goods, same price, and not have your head snapped off. more

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I am a contractor and regularly shop at Lighting By Gregory and LightingByGregory.com. Their customer service is amazing and their section is huge. I recently needed a discontinued fixture for a client that wanted areplacement light for their kitchen, just in case the one I installed broke. The sales staff couldn't find the piece (since it was discontinued) but sent me replacement pieces for the light in the event it ever needed fixing. It was very helpful and made my client very happy. I recently went to Lighting By Gregory to purchase a lamp for my bedroom. I was in shock by their huge selection. They had a showroom with three floors of lighting. I was amazed at how many options there were. I purchased a table lamp and when the shade broke two weeks later, Lighting by Gregory replaced it for me, free of charge. I highly reconmend this place. Sorry Folks.... DO NOT SHOP AT LIGHTING BY GREGORY!!!! We were so disappointed with the service, degree of expertise, and general attitude of everyone in the store. They told me my fan would be there the next day (i had scheduled with the electrician) and then they unappologetically informed me that it would take two more weeks. They delivered the wrong quantity of the wrong (broken) merchandise. Also, when i told them of my contractor's concerns about the height of my ceiling in regards to my ceiling fan, they told me that there were no height restrictions on fans (which is clearly not true, and don't you think a FAN store should know that?!?!?!?!!?!?) I am so dissatisfied with this store. LBG does have a wonderful selection, but with so many other options in the neighborhood, choose another. PROS: nice selectionthere is an exit CONS: more

I've shopped in both the NJ and NY stores and have found the sales staff to be the most knowledgeable as there is, despite the hecticness of the store. They usually had what I wanted in stock or were on time with their expected order delivery. If you want the right information and the best prices, there is only one place to go. more
