perfect eyebrows 7/18/2011

i""ve been in boston for a while now and have tried many many places for the eyebrow waxing...and i would never be satisfied. I found some good places...but nothing great until I went to Leeba. I had my eyebrows threaded by rejina and it was great...finally, a good threading place in Boston! Leeba is a trek for me, but its worth it! more

Eyebrow Threading 6/18/2011

This was my first visit to Leeba Salon , 1024 Commonwealth Ave, Boston. I was looking for a place for eyebrow threading and came to know they do threading. Unfortunately I went on a weekend, when there was another lady for threading. She is from Nepal. I would suggest never to get eyebrows done by her if you want a natural look of the eyebrows. She uses thread but also uses the plucker most of the time. She treats your eyebrows as if its the grass in her garden and does it in a hurry and very painful manner. Finally when you see the mirror ...nothing is left except a very very thin and short line of brows. Now I need to wait for 2-3 months to get back my brows. Even if you tell her in advance, what you want, she doesnt seem to care at all. So she is not at all professional and does your eyebrows according to her, not your expectations. Anyone visiting this place for eyebrows please do not go on Saturday or Sunday when this lady is the only person to play unprofessionally with your brows and plucks and cut them all!!!! more

Great experience 11/17/2010

I recently went into the state st location and saw saliba and got highlights and brazilian keratin treatment in the same day and my hair looks fabulous for the first time. I got a great deal and the prices are great and affordable. I have never received so many compliments on my hair. It is very manageable and easy to style, has great shine. I highly recommend both the salon and saliba. more

Very good coloring and highlights 11/15/2010

I did my hair with Saliba, the owner, and had a very good experience. First ,he retouched my grey hair and then did the highlights on top. The color was a perfect match to my original hair color and the highlights were done in the right thickness and in a warm caramel hue as I have asked. I will certainly go back! more

Good haircuts, OK coloring 3/25/2010

I went here over the summer to take advantage of the color/cut special for $65. Ahmed was my stylist... he wasn't the best colorist (he had me pick from a book of hair color samples; formerly, my stylist in CT would take a look, listen to what I wanted, and provide me w/ an awesome color) and he seemed a little nervous doing the coloring and had to consult with other stylists for the coloring. However, he did an excellent job at cutting my hair! It looked fabulous when I was done. However, the thing I don't like about Leeba (and dellaria's, and any other hair salon near a university) is they take advantage of overcharging college students - even though the special was $65, they charged me extra because I had ""long"" hair (it was only an inch or two past my shoulders, how is that long?!). I referred my boyfriend to Ahmed, and he's been going to Leeba for almost a year now. He told me that Ahmed left, though - however, there are a bunch of great stylists there. I'm glad he's happy, but I wasn't overly impressed with Leeba's professionalism so I probably won't go back unless I'm desperate. Pros: Great cuts, alright coloring Cons: Staff has attitude, overcharging mysteriously, unprofessiona more

Charbel is an amazing colorist and hairstylist 10/11/2009

Charbel works at two Leeba locations: Summer St in Downtown Crossing and Commonwealth Ave. in Brighton. He is one of the best hairstylists I've ever been to -- only in Europe have I had comparable haircuts. I've been going to him for several years and even though I've recently moved north of Boston and have a 4 month old baby, I still make the trip into Boston to see him. I highly recommend him -- I get so many compliments on my hair....he knows what to do! more

they could not be better 7/3/2009

I started going to 1024 commwealth location last year after moving from Europe. I have been doing highlights half my life but the magic that George does on my hair stands no comparison. I do high/lowlights every couple of months and even though I have discount at Marc Harris now, I am definitely not switching my hair stylist. When people on the street ask you where do you get your hair done, you know Leeba did a good job. Luv u guys! Maria more

FABULOUS SALON, FABULOUS OWNER, (GREAT SALON FOR CURLY HAIR!) 12/12/2008

I am shocked at negative reviews Leeba Salon has received. I am a loyal customer and have been getting my hair done on a regular basis at Leeba Salon for almost eight years. I have never left the salon unhappy. \r \r #1) The owner, Saliba Shako, is by far the most accessible and talented hairdresser I have ever met. I was a walk-in many years ago and very unhappy with my hair cut and its color. I have very thick curly hair and at the time, my highlights were a mess. I didn't need to say a word to him, he gave me a haircut and corrected my color - and I have been going to him ever since. I actually moved to Worcester for a few years, and still drove to have him do my hair. Saliba can be found in the various locations and always makes himself available to me at a moment's notice. \r \r #2) the other salon associates go through a strict training regiment with Saliba. I have witnessed it personally as he does my hair with them. He is very firm with his technique and I find it EXTREMELY hard to believe that any of the associates are not up to par. I would have to problem having another associate work on my hair. \r \r #3) the prices are to die for. Leeba Salon does great work at very affordable prices. They are good to the their customers and I never leave there feeling pressured to buy products or unhappy with how I look. It goes without saying that after so many years, I truly walk in to the salon and don't need to say a word. I always leave feeling beautiful.\r \r I honestly don't think anyone should put any regard to the negative reviews. I am still shocked! I've always said that if Saliba moved his salons to another state...I would move along with them. Pros: highly skilled staff and technique, clean and welcoming atmosphere more

Denyse keeps it simple 4/7/2008

I'm really surprised about the negative reviews for Leeba; I must have lucked out. I took advantage of that haircut & color offer Leeba always has posted outside their door and was not dissapointed with the results I received from stylist Denyse. I have curly hair and have had a series of tepid haircuts in ""nicer"" salons throughout Boston. Denyse gave me great highlights and an easy cut that I can literally just wash and go and always looks adorable. She is very laid-back and chatty. I found the front desk staff to be friendly and overall the two times I've been it's been a low-maintenance, cheerful affair with great hair results. For a pretty affordable cut and color that will look great, I would definitely recommend Denyse at the Brookline Leeba on Comm Ave. Pros: great cut and color more

Worst color job ever. 2/27/2008

I have been coloring my hair for about 5 years now and this is by far the worst color job I have EVER received. I told the woman explicitly that I came in because of some discoloration at my hair line around my forehead. I get blonde highlights but for whatever reason around my forehead turns reddish between colorings. So I pointed this out as being my main concern and reason for the visit. After the foils came out and she washed my hair, the red was still just as profound. Noticeably upset, I pointed this out to her and she brought over one of the other hairstylists, George. He said he could fix it no problem. After he put foils in, washed and blowdried my hair, the area around my face was STARK blonde... like peroxide blonde and didn't match the rest of my haircolor. Leaving Leeba, I made an appointment at a better salon as soon as they could take me. I will NEVER go back to Leeba. They act like they know what they're doing so initially I had a lot of confidence in their ability but I'm kicking myself now for going back after a pretty awful haircut on my last visit.\r \r The only thing I would consider going to Leeba for is their waxing... they are realllllly good with their waxing. But they will never touch the hair on my head again. Pros: waxing Cons: everything else more

best brazilian wax and eyebrows threading 9/7/2007

just plain horrible 9/4/2007

I would not recommend this place to anyone who wishes to have a good haircut. I got there on time for my appointment but I had to wait around for half an hour because the stylists didn't show up that day or something. So I had to wait around for someone to have a free moment to cut my hair. I told her (I wish I could remember her name) that I wanted to cut my hair really short and she told me that it wouldn't look good (or she didn't want to waste her time) so she trimmed my hair in about 5 minutes and asked if I wanted to have it naturally dry or have it blown dry. I told her I wanted it blown dry but it was her choice so she said I should have it naturally dry. So I paid someone 30 something dollars to cut my hair and leave the store with wet hair. It was a horrible haircut because it didn't even look like she did anything. Oh and she also caught her comb on my earring and told me in a nasty voice that I should have told her I had on earrings. And she also tripped and fell on me. Cons: everything more

Bad coloring job, burned hair, unattentive hairstylist 8/25/2007

My fault ,. I forgot that you have to explain everything down to minute details to hairstylist. Otherwise you would get his version of a haircut.\r I think they terribly overbook on Weekends. They don't have time for their clients and only talk to each other instead of to their clients.\r Because of constantly being distructed by each as well as trying to handle 3 clients at once they do poor job. I would not exaggerate by saying that I have gotten the worst haircut of my life their. Coloring is another horror story I have no energy to write about.\r It?s not the money that I paid It?s the depressed mood that these amateurs put me into for a month.\r I strongly advise against using this salon for anything other than trimming job. Pros: Location Cons: Quality of coloring and attention to the job more

Best waxing and threading in Boston!!! 8/9/2007

Leeba Salon in comm ave has the best waxing and threading in boston and believe me i have been to a number of salons. rejina over there has hand as gentle as can be yet she is fast. my appointment was on time and i was in and out of there in like 40 mins. i got my brows threaded and my whole body waxed. she was so gentle i could not believe it. and the best part was that it did not even hurt me. her threading was precise. i look great and i feel great. the price was also good. for a job like that i would not mind paying a lilttle more! more

Fabulaous job. You should try the facials there with regina. 7/10/2007

I was referred this place by my friend when i was in boston. but since then i have always had a reason to come back to boston. Rejina was great at eveything. i fell asleep as she massaged me....... it was so good and relaxing. even when she waxed...... it was a painless procedure. My eye brows were done perfectly. all in all i had the best time and found a new friend in her. more

Snotty attitudes to be left curbside. 7/6/2007

Marlene left much to be desired. Her haircuts? Mediocre and BORING--she doesn't listen to you at all--maybe that's b/c she's always on her cell phone. I got a wedding hair trial with her--big mistake but so glad I didn't book her for the actual wedding. I brought in photos, ideas and the veil. She only curled it. Last time I checked it was my wedding and you listen to what the paying customer asks for. Dellaria knows how to treat their customers and with that I've been happily going there for a year.\r \r The woman who used to do threading--Pretty? She was great. The new girl is not. Uneven brows? No thanks. Rude receptionist? You betcha.\r \r Cons: Snotty people; no skills, rude more

best hair cut 6/14/2007

ihad zena cut my hair and she did very good job she really listened to what i wanted and cut it exactly as i asked recommend it Pros: best hair cut Cons: non non non more

Comm Ave location = TERRIBLE hair cut 5/6/2007

My hair experience at the Comm Ave location was terrible! The receptionist was rude and the salon and employees came off as unprofessional (what they wore, how they socialized amongst themselves, etc.). My stylist, Zena, took me to wash my hair before even bothering to look at my hair in its dry state to see how it was shaped and how I wanted it cut. She washed my hair with cold water, was very rough in washing, brushing, and drying it (my neck is still sore!), and did the absolute opposite of what I requested. I simply wanted a trim to get rid of split ends and even out my hair. She took literally 30 seconds to cut it (only trimmed the bottom of my hair, ignoring all the layers I have) and when I asked her to cut the split ends off ALL my layers, not just the longest layer, she argued with me about it. After she dried my hair I showed her all the split ends that remained and she haphazardly cut them off (with my hair dry), and told me that next time we will put layers in. THERE WONT BE A NEXT TIME! Although there was no one in the salon (this should have been my clue not to go in...) Zena seemed like she wanted to rush me out of there. I urge you to save your looks, time, and money and go elsewhere. Pros: cheap Cons: lesson learned: cheap = bad more

Go to GEORGE! 4/19/2007

I've been going to George on Comm Ave for 5 years now- cheated on him once (while vacationing in hawaii) and will never do it again. He has taken me from black to blonde and every variation in between absolutely effortlessly. It's incredibly cheap and all of my friends rave about their blowouts for days after. Lastly, I do like attention (!) but the amount one receives on exiting, borders upon embarrassing- one looks photo shoot ready. Love this place, especially love George :) Pros: cheap, fab color, cut and blow-outs more

Worst Haircut Ever 2/12/2007

Worst experience at salon. The girl ruined my hair. I seriously don't recommend going there or to any of there salons. They also had really bad service. I was on time and keep me waiting for half an hour. Cons: HAIRCUT, SERVICE more
