I heard about Aida Doss Havel from Legal Aid. I called them desperate because I had seen three other attorneys and not only was I not getting answers, I was not treated the best. I was an emotional wreck. I didn't sleep over a few hours a night for a month. Mrs. Havel was wonderful. She was kind, informative, helpful, and last night I slept through the night for the first time in months. She helped me, gave me answers, and it was one of the best experiences I've had in a long time. I can tell she truly cares about people and when you are going through a hard time, it really helps to have someone listen to you, not dismiss your feelings and to also advise you of ways to help that other attorneys before her did not even tell me was possible. I strongly recommend her and I believe that if all attorneys were like her, this would be a wonderful world. \r more

Aida Doss Harvel is sent from HEAVEN. She is very knowledgeable, kind, caring and she has her clients best interest at heart. I would highly recommend her services. I do not recommend Aida Doss-Havel as an attorney. Please do not waste your time and money. We had a 1 hour consultation with Ms. Havel hoping to become more educated on the matter, but instead we left with the exact information that we already knew, except we were our $200. She spent half the asking questions about our situations (which makes sense), then she made a phone call during the consultation which infact resulted in her being on hold for about 10 min. She repeatedly kept saying how our case was such a mess, wasting a lot of time during the consultation, and never actually giving us any advice or directions. When discussed the fact that she hadn't given us any advice or consultation AT ALL, and asking for at least half the consultation fee back, she declined and said ""she felt that we both did what we contracted to do."" DO NOT waste your time or money speaking with this ""so called"" attorney. more

I switched divorce attorneys in midstream so to speak because a year into my divorce I still had no child support that I could count on. Aida assured me that she would address that immediately. A year later, even tho the divorce is over I am still getting no child support. I am also saddled with a $16,000 debt. This was a lien against property that I got in the divorce on a loan that did not even have my signature on it -only the ex signed the original loan. Aida filed the quit claim deed prior to addressing the lien. So I am out $10,000 that I paid her for her services. $16,000 debt on a loan that I did not even sign. And no child support either. SAVE YOUR $ AND TIME. FIND ANOTHER ATTORNEY. Pros: Absolutely nothing. I agree with her earlier review. Cons: She talks down to you and uncaring more

Aida Doss Havel, whom I hired during my separation and divorce. She puts folks down. When I did not feel comfortable with her (just to see if we could approach my husband) she talked down to me. What I did not know is that she was running for Judge in Wake County. Her head seemed to be with her own ""stuff"", not with her client. Please! Do not go to her if you are a warm sensitive person who wants the most for your money, but does not want to be put down. She did not disclose to me her political aspirations, she can be cold and uncaring. Do not be lulled in by her ""charm"". She will make fun of you if you question her advice. She comes across as nice, but that is hard to believe. I think she knows how to appear charming. Her one person staff was not the friendliest to clients. Pros: NONE! I highly recommend Aida Doss Havel! All of the attorneys I contacted were sky high- just for a simple divorce, with the exception of Mrs. Havel. I found Mrs. Havel through word of mouth via a family acquaintance. I immediately felt comfortable speaking with her. I was down and out, more like desperate. I did not have the money for a divorce at the time, and I was ready for it to be over with my husband. She explained everything thoroughly. Aida was so affordable compared to all of the other family law attorneys I contacted. I did not have to do a thing. It was affordable and quick with no hassles. Pros: Price Cons: n/a more
