Food was just above Casa Bonita. As a Colorado native I've heard so much about La Loma. The service was very slow, we had to belly up to the bar to get service, there were 8 of us...

Editorial review from Citysearch 3/3/2013

We have been here multiple times, for lunch and dinner. Beautiful place, friendly service. The fresh squeezed margaritas are excellent and the homemade tortillas are the best. Love the fajitas in particular. Was not impressed with the kids chicken taco, it was huge and the tortilla was soggy, and the meat looked unappetizing. But everything else we ever ordered has been great. Easy parking a plus. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 7/3/2012

I LOVE this restaurant! food is always delicious and the margaritas are to die for! The last time I went I had the Sarapes app as a meal and the chile reminded me of my grandmas chile, I cant wait to go back! more

Stuffed sopapilla fans be warned! 12/27/2011

The name alone should imply how the dish is made, Stuffed sopapillas! I didn't order a flat sopapilla sandwich.... come on man! The green chile was great, the salsa was hot. Service was pleasant but a tad slow (was a busy night I understand). Maybe I'll have to try something else from there menu. I could eat there again but wound not recommend to my friends, unless they were European. Stuff verb (trans.) 1. fill (a receptacle or space) tightly with something : an old teapot stuffed 2. informal force or cram (something) tightly into a receptacle or space : he stuffed a thick wad of cash into his jacket pocket more

Best Green Chile in Denver! 7/13/2011

This is the best Mexican in Denver. The Green Chile is fresh and spicy and the guac is among the best (tastes very fresh, could use more spice). The dishes were very tasty and the very fresh tortillas made on sight were excellent. Good margs. Prices are more than reasonable. Overall, my favorite in Denver given with the high food quality, very pleasant wait staff and very well maintained restaurant. more

Will go back again and again! 1/5/2011

I had to write a review after reading all of the ""bad"" reviews I saw on here. I frequent La Loma quite often - I can't get enough of this place. I was honestly surprised that their was a bad review. I recommend trying it again. They have great service, food and atmosphere. I love their lighter side options as well as their green chili and amazing chili rellenos. more

A bit over-rated 1/6/2010

We've been to La Loma a couple of times and I would rate the food uneven. One special was bland while the green chile was excellent. It is a bit hit and miss. And be prepared for a very loud crowd, especially after sporting events. Probably best to plan a visit around the local sports calendar. Pros: Friendly service Cons: Loud, uneven food courses more

This food was made in NYC, get the rope!!! 11/25/2009

As a traveling man that loves Mexican food. I ordered the stuff Chile Rellenos. It arrived in an eggroll-style wrap once I cut into it I couldnt find the Chile, the only thing missing was the Chinese plum sauce? The frozen Margarita was like having a shaved ice watered down? I think they should remove the word Authentic from there menu and say, Made in NYC! Pros: Nice looking place. Cons: Dont order the Chile Rellenos! more

Worst Service on the Planet!!! 2/24/2009

I consider myself a burrito, fajita, enchilada, tostada, margarita and nacho expert. The level you don't have to take a class on. While I certainly believe La Loma has great fajitas, their lousy service can't make up for it. I have been a patron of La Loma's for over 20 years and over the years the service has been atrocious. I keep going back based on loyalty, although after tonight, never again!!! We actually had a server tell us he was TOO BUSY to take our order. After consulting with management, who asked us to stay on her tab, we opted out and went for fast food. The service at Good Times was exceptionally better than that at La Loma. Being a native, I can recommend far better jaunts than this. If you would like great Mexican, any Santiago's is far better. Julia Blackbird in the Highland area offers amazing New Mexican eats as does Jack and Grill. For simple fajitas, Chili's never disappoints, and all the while hold their staff to high standards. Hacienda Colorado is also a fantastic place for food and drinks. They put their staff through a strenuous training process and even a disappointed customer never walks out of there feeling bad. La Loma should look into the same! The service was way below par. Pros: Fajitas Cons: Arrogant staff more

best mexican ever 10/17/2008

I was at la loma last sunday very busy place but the best mexican food ever, chile rellenos and green chile ummmm.!!!!!! if you want to have real mexican food try la loma you will like it, but try not to go during a home bronco game you will have to wait one hour for a table. Pros: very good food Cons: long wait during home bronco games more

Credit Card Fraud! La Loma no bueno!! 9/30/2008

We went to La Loma after the most recent Denver Broncos game to enjoy a few drinks and a nice meal. We were seated and waited around for a little while for a waiter. After around 10 minutes I got up asked the hostess if she could send someone over she obliged and I went to sit for another 10 minutes. No waiter 20 minutes in to our dining nightmare. So to ease the thirsty patrons I was dining with myself and another went to the bar inside and ordered 4 margaritas. We told the bartender who i believe was the manager on duty that we had no service and decided to get our own drinks. No response! Nice! After 30 mintues our waiter finally showed up with no remorse or apology. I believe the waiter was not even old enough to be serving liquor in CO. ANyway we finally got our subpar food sipped our overpriced watered-down margaritas and left extremely unsatisfied. On the way out we paid our tab at the hostess stand told the manager(bartender) about how horrible his service was gave a 8 or 10% tip and left. more

A little piece of heaven 9/27/2007

La Loma is hands down the best Mexican Restaurant in Denver. I have taken just about everyone I know and they have never served anything less than a spectacular meal. The chimicangas are mouth watering and unlike most restaurants they serve the green chili on the side so the chimi remains crispy. The rellenos are also about the best I have ever had. The side dishes, typical beans and rice are not your standard fair both having wonderful flavor but being slightly different from your mainstream mexican joints. I know many people are either a fan of green or red but not of both but you really need to try them both here. They have a descent margarita and the service is typically speedy and friendly. Pros: Wide open dining areas Cons: The parking lot more

I am hungry now 11/29/2006

I love La Loma. this is always a great place to go for lunch or even for business. The staff is great, and the tortilla chips and fajitas are great. Pros: good food Cons: sometimes pricey more

Over rated and priced 9/3/2006

Not bad, but not great either. The atmosphere was nice, the giant Margs were Tasty. I ordered the Tacos al carbone and they were just wrong and pricey. A great Mexican should have great tacos in my opinion. The menu was pretty limited. I might go back to give it another try, but not any time soon. Pros: margs Cons: Tacos al Carbon more

Good Mexican Food 8/17/2006

As far as affordable mexican food goes this place is pretty good. We went on a weeknight so it was fairly empty and the service was good. I've had better mexican food in town but I would probably go back. Pros: Affordable Cons: Standard Mexican Food more

Magnifico! 4/13/2006

I first ate at La Loma in the late 1980's. It's food has maintained a high level of quality and I've never been disappointed. You may, though, wait for dinner or even lunch service if you go without a reservation or during peak times. It's worth the wait - relax and have a wonderful margarita on the rocks. On a warm day or evening the patio area will make you want to stay all night. No wonder there can be a wait for tables. Don't miss going. Pros: parking, ambiance, food more

I Love La Loma 1/26/2006

I absolutly love La Loma! It's a great place to go to if your looking for good Mexican food and a nice environment. My favorite item is defenitly the Mexican hamburger. Pros: Great Food, Pleasent Environment Cons: Busy, Service isnt the best more

Over Rated 11/13/2005

Food was just above Casa Bonita. As a Colorado native I've heard so much about La Loma. The service was very slow, we had to belly up to the bar to get service, there were 8 of us sitting at the table area. Our food server was busy watching people instead of watching his area. By the time the first person in our party was done with his food the 8th person recieved hers. Very Poor... Cons: Food, Servers more

Upscale Mexican and Romantic too 7/11/2005

I first went to La Loma 6 years ago. I keep coming back! I continue to think this is one of the top Resturants in metro Denver. There are so many good things to say, but first - THIS IS POPULAR PLACE AND THERE ARE SIGNIFICANT WAIT TIMES! Make reservations or be prepared to wait! KNOW THAT IT IS WORTH EVERY MINUTE! Excellent chimichangas, some very good margaritas (the large ones are almost always very very strong), their own homemade tortillas both corn and flour (they are the absolute best I have had in Denver!), are some of the very good reasons to eat at La Loma. The veranda seating is great in the summer and quite romantic with views of Downtown. Inside you can get a cozy corner, relaxing both, or a table in one of their many rooms. Pros: Flavor, Ingredients, Ambience Cons: Can be BUSY more

My Fave 5/19/2004

I first went to La Loma several years ago, and I have never been dissapointed. The food has always been wonderful (especially the fajitas and fried ice cream), and I was recently able to try one of their margaritas for the first time. It was great, too. The service is sometimes a little slow, but it is worth it. Try it. You'll love it. Pros: Great food, Nice atmosphere more

Good Food - Great Value 12/13/2002

1st timers last night... food, service and atmosphere was great! We plan to return in the near future. Pros: Good food, Inexpensive, Easy Parking more
