We had previously used La Jolla Sew & Vac to repair our Miele vacuum. When a hose broke recently, I contemplated putting that money towards a new vacuum (as ours was over 10 years old) rather then buying a new hose. I did lots of research and decided that I would buy another Miele. I could have easily purchased it over the Internet but decided to visit LJS&V first. I'm so happy that I did! Kerry, the owner, was terrific and explained all of the differences to me regarding the two vacuums in which I was most interested. I appreciated his honesty and made the decision to buy. \r Their customer service was great. They will do whatever it takes to keep happy customers.\r Thanks, La Jolla Sew & Vac!!!!!!! more

Goes the Extra Mile to Help 9/13/2010

Based on reviews here which are overall positive, I took my vacuum cleaner in for repair (electrical power to an attachment worked intermittently). The problem was quickly and efficiently located. The replacement part alone would cost $130, I was told.\r \r But this employee (the owner's son I later learned) went the extra mile and checked into the warranty. He helped me file my warranty info (which I had neglected to do after purchase) and ordered the part.\r \r Two weeks later, the part arrived and the TOTAL COST was covered under warranty! My vacuum cleaner works again and I'm pleased to have done business with La Jolla Sew & Vac.\r \r When I'm ready for a *new* vacuum, La Jolla Sew and Vac will have my business. I can trust them to give me useful advice that benefits me first, not just themselves.\r \r I can't explain the one bad review. Maybe a mistake or misunderstanding? I do know they value their reputation and their customers. more

Honest and Trusting 8/25/2010

I took an older vac in to trade it in. Even though I'd tried to sell this high priced but unpopular brand of vac without any luck, La Jolla Sew & Vac took it and gave me a good deal on a Miele. I never felt pressured and in fact the guy told me to try to get more $ for the old vac "on the open market." I couldn't recommend them more! Their honesty is refreshing. more

Best Experience EVER 2/16/2009

I took an old vacuum into the shop, and within 5 minutes, tech looked at it, told me it wasn't worth repairing, suggested buying a new vacuum at a discount store to meet my needs and hooked the vacuum up so I could temporarily use it until I got something else. He then offered to carry it out to my car and when I thanked him all he said was to pay the favor forward. The experience was THE BEST EVER!!! Thank You. You made my day! more

Great place to have your vacuum repaired. Also a great selection of pro vacuums. 9/16/2005

The repairmen at this shop are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I had a broken Dirt Devil vacuum that they were able to fix no problem in no time. The prices are also very reasonable, which can make it more economical to fix up your beater rather than buy a new vacuum. If I ever need a vacuum repaired again I will be back! They also sell new vacuums many of which are top of the line professional models you wont see in mass retailers like Wal-Mart. They also cost a bundle ($300+). But you also probably wouldnt ever need to repair one of them you get what you pay for. PROS: Skilled and friendly repair technicians. Pro vacuums make you drool. CONS: Prices on pro vacuums can make you cry. more
