Cheap....thats it 2/9/2011

This club sucks. Since my membership began with Bally's six years ago, I have worked out at four different Bally's clubs consistently at different times. I have been happy with those clubs, after two years at this club, it is a consistent disappointment. These reviews are right on, the club manager, the young kid that also provides ""personal training"" is loud and unprofessional; I have witnessed him treating a member with a billing issue so unprofessionally the lady almost started crying. The club is run more like a frat house than a business; the desk employees are typically texting or talking to each other when checking in or out. I have watched the ""personal trainers"" waste people's time with stupid unconventional exercises that seem to embarrass the members more than help them reach reasonable goals. The only bright spot is the employee, Neil; he does an excellent job all around. more

You get what you pay for. So just save your money. 1/31/2011

This club used to be one of the best in the market, but over the last year, because of management change, the club is finally hitting rock bottom. The general manager is never around and when he is, he is loud and unprofessional. He hired his friends to staff the club, so now it runs as inefficient as possible. People who have no sales experience and no knowledge of how to effectively run a gym are left alone while he runs around to do who knows what throughout the day. There is constantly ""Scan yourself in"" sign at the front desk. The gym is NEVER CLEAN. They now burn scented candles so you cannot smell the disgusting smell of the facility. There is no disinfectant spray available to whip down machines. Members do not clean up after themselves & Ballys got rid of their porter's years ago and now expects their underpaid staff to do it. If you ever wanted to catch a staff infection and spend days in the hospital these are the clubs to catch it at. I do not think the floor over by the free weights has EVER EVER been cleaned. There were fake acrylic nails left underneath tanning bed 1 for over 3 weeks and I just watched and noted how long it actually took for someone to clean them up. For those of you who complain about the staff: Ballys underpays and disrespects their staff on a regular basis. so don't expect too much out of them. Its not really fair. Your beef should be with this HORRIBLE Corporation and how they ruin their evil business. Their trainers basically work for free and/or for minimum wage with college degrees and tons of certifications. Basically, go spend your money some where else. There are other clubs that value their members and staff, and Bally Total Fitness IS NOT THEM! Do not spend your hard earned money on this company. Please. more

Good facility and Good people 2/17/2010

I've been a member here for 2 monthes and I've had a fantastic experiance thus far. I've been a member at 24hrs and SAC where it people go to parade themselves around and treat it like a singles bar. This is a working man's/woman's gym. Come here to get fit, stay fit, or whatever your goal. The people have all been helpful and friendly. As in all places there are some staff that standout from the rest. Kenny and Megan are AWSOME! Kenny is the Ops Mgr and is always available to answer a question, give advice on fitness/nutrition, or just BS. Megan is a certified nutritionist and trainer that is very knowledgable and passionate about what she does. If these two can't get you fit, no one can. The layout of the gym is smartly done (cardio one side of building, weights the other, office in the middle). The equipment is clean and in working order. Peak times are busy, but there is always room somewhere. If cardio is full, you can hit weights. If weights aren't your thing, then you can do some circuit training, core exercises, or stretching. I can't rate their classes as I haven't taken any. But for $25/month I am getting great help with my training and plenty of use from the daycare for my son. I know that not all gyms are created equal. I am not speaking for any other gym (Bally's or not) but this location. Do yourself a favor and at least go in and talk with them. Then you can make your own decision. Pros: Month to Month Membership, Affordable, Daycare Cons: Not all Bally's are like this one. more

Do not JOIN, manager who is a young kid and General Manager 11/3/2009

were told that unless we had a pass printed from the internet that we could not use the gym for a 7 day trial even though on the phone they told us all we had to do was come in and we could try the facility out for 7 days once we explained that we weren't told to print anything out the manager a young, arrogant, rude kid, told us that we would have to leave. Unbelievable. Finally after saying that we were told to come and no hassle commitment, they allowed us to try the gym. They refused to answer questions, didn't offer to ""show"" us around the gym and igored us. When we called later to speak to the General manager, Doug, HE REFUSED TO TAKE CALLS, AS A MATTER OF FACT, YOU WOULD BE LUCKY IF YOU CAN FIND ANY GENERAL MANAGER AT ANY LOCATION TO ACCEPT CALLS. pLEASE TAKE YOUR MONEY AND BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. Pros: none, didn't join Cons: all more

Save you money 4/16/2008

The machines are okay, but many of them are old and broken. The girls at the front counter are never polite. I bought a tanning package here and was disgusted by how dirty the tanning beds are. When I went to the location by cedar hills I was amazed by how much cleaner the tanning beds were. The employees dont always ask me to inital my tanning sheet and I noticed the last time I went they were initaling MY NAME! I think this place is run by managers who just dont care about it. Pros: Cheap Cons: Dirty, rude, old machines more

Terrible 5/31/2007

I had a very poor experience with Bally's. The club itself is alright. There is a fair amount of equipment, although the cardio machines are frequently broken and you will often have to wait for a machine during peak hours. \r \r The personal trainers don't seem to have a clue. I used my ""free"" training, and told the trainer I was interested primarily in losing some weight and doing some toning. He recommended to me a free weight program with low reps and high sets. He gave me four exercises just for chest. What a joke.\r \r When I decided to cancel I had to call multiple times over two weeks. The person who was responsible for canceling was never ""available"" and my calls were not returned. Once I finally got a hold of him he did not properly cancel my account and I had to call back to stop the ongoing billing. What a waste of time.\r \r I've belonged to a number of clubs over the years, and this was by far the worst. If you're in SE I would recommend Cascade Athletic Club. Pros: Fairly clean facility, adequate equipment Cons: everything else more

Cheap, but not worth it 7/23/2006

The Ballys in the Tualatin/Tigard area; they had no AC in the cardio room. Only a few fans, not enough for the size of the room. You can smell everyone sweating and their BO because of poor circulation. It is like walking into a sauna. Horrible, cannot go in there in the evenings after work. Only bareable in the mornings. The cardio room is always packed and you have to wait to find a machine. Can throw off your workout routine. Would not recommend joining here. We complained to management several times, nothing changed. We said see ya, when our membership ran out \r Pros: cheap Cons: you will catch a disease more
