Recently we celebrated my mother's 78th birthday here, out of family nostalgia. The disappointment was comprehensive. The decor is dated, not retro (if you dined here in 1985, you know exactly what it looks like today). It's far from ""casual, yet elegant""; sauces are served in plastic cups and the chairs are Knights-of-Columbus-banquet-hall -quality. The menu is run of the mill and the selection limited - a New York Strip will cost you $35 and is about the quality you get from an upscale grocery store. We brought in a chocolate, whipped cream birthday cake (my mother's favorite, and not offered on the menu), and they charged us a surcharge fee of $1.00/per person, to be able to serve it. This is on top of having purchased over $400 of appetizers, wine, and entrees. Really, Kozlak's?!? If you're looking for mediocre quality food at high quality prices, from a place that will nickel and dime you, this is your restaurant! Our family, however, will not be back.
