Perfection! Can't Get Any Better Than Kooma. 5/31/2005

I crave the sushi at Kooma. I have eaten at every sushi restaurant in Columbus and many across the United States. I have come to the conclusion that I have found the best at this quaint little restuarant in Columbus, Ohio. I can't say enough about the food, the people and the cozy atmosphere. Well worth the wait if there is one. Try it! Pros: Fantastic Food, Fun Atmosphere, Free Edamame! more

Best sushi in town 5/13/2005

The sushi is so fresh and delicious at this little restaurant. On Friday and Saturday nights there is a dj but it never gets too noisy to talk. The service is almost always great. Excellent selection of drinks at the bar. The food is also excellent not just the sushi. I would highly recomend this. It is the best sushi in Columbus! Pros: Fair prices, great food, good service Cons: parking is expensive, small more

Good Sushi, Tight Quarters 4/27/2005

We went to Kooma for lunch on a cool Wedneday afternoon. There were five of us and our only seating option was to crowd in at a four top. I ordered a lunch special, which included spicy tuna, California, and tuna. The spicy tuna was excellent - very good flavor and texture, with just a bit of bite to it. The California was also very good, with crisp cucumber and tasty avocado. The rice in both cases had good flavor and texture and the nori was also quite crisp. The service was a tad slow though quite friendly - and the dining area was crowded. There was no presentation to the sushi - simply rolled, cut and served. The lunch price was excellent, and included salad (the ginger dressing was some of the best Ive tried) and Miso soup. Overall, a good experience. Ill definitely be back. more

Better Than The Rest 3/7/2005

There are many fine sushi restaurants here in town, but Kooma consistently has the freshest offerings around. Having worked in a sushi bar in San Diego I have a good eye/mouth for fresh sushi and Kooma's is always incredibly fresh, which amazes me since they less volume than the more well known sushi bars in town. Their prices are amazing as well - perhaps it is the lack of plasma screen TV and over the top decor that most other sushi restaurants insist on overwhelming me with. The spot is a bit hard to find tucked in between Martinis and a parking garage just behind Barley's by the North Market, but once you find it you will come back over and over again. more

Best Sushi in the City 12/5/2004

Hands down the best sushi in the city. Great atmosphere combined with friendly and attentive service compliments specialty dishes and sushi that puts every other Columbus sushi bar to shame. As with any sushi restaurant, a long wait is possible, but definitely worth the wait at Kooma, especially with their low prices. Pros: Friendly, Delicious, Great Atmosphere more

Amazing Sushi /horrible service 11/27/2004

The Sushi is some of the best in columbus but the service and wait for food is not worth it--no matter how good the food is. Waiting close to 2 hours for food- hand made or not- is not acceptable. more

best sushi in c-bus 5/4/2004

The sushi is awesome, as are all of the dishes on the menu. Cool atmosphere, not too loud- great service and friendly staff. Can't say enough good about it- a must try for sure!!! more
