Beware of the positive reviews for this shop. I took my car in there and felt I was ripped off. They lie to you, they grossly overcharge. So, I Iooked up the reviews, and I was surprised to find any positive ones. Well, look a little further, their reviews are split into five star and one star. When I looked a little further, I found that the negative reviews were written by actual customers and the positive ones were written by ""users"" that seem to have very strong links to the shop, probably the staff. I just want your Corporate offices to know how I feel about the 290 South Austin location. Your staff and mechanics are exceptional! As a woman who has had countless bad experiences, I must say I have never been disappointed and find your employees are honest, trustworthy and dependable! They have given me vital information and have gone beyond the call of duty several times. I would recommend them to anyone but especially women who dont want to be taken advantage of!!! I go to Klingemann American Car Care to have my car checked. Their Office Staff is really nice and helpful. I would recommend anyone go their b/c they will help you with what ever they can and will give you a fair price and a friendly smile. more

Curtis ? - Sep 11, 2010 Good Prices, Trustworthy and friendly I purchase a 1998 Ford Explorer almost a year ago (End of Sept / Oct 2009). I started having problems and took it to another place near my work (near 290 west and Brodie Ln) After a bad experience I asked my mom and step Dad where i should go. Both recommended Klingemann on 290 west. From the moment i stepped foot into the repair center i felt as if i was treated like a valued customer. Not only is the service great but the price is always fair and at or below the price of most repair shops. with the many repairs I have needed and will be needing they have always been honest. In fact i called for a for a quote on repair I need to have done and not only where they extremely honest (in regards to what needs to be repaired and what they thought could wait (being that they did not and have not seen the car to inspect what needs to be repaired 100%))) but they also came way under what i expect price wise. On a Last Not even if i have had to wait at the shop the waiting room is very comfortable and clean with nice seating, a TV, free coffee, a soda vending machine and even and clean and fresh smelling bathroom.Now that I have moved i will be trying the Klingemann location on E Oltorf near S Congress where i will be placing a review (closer to my new apartment). I would recommend anyone try Kingemann on HWY 290 If you want a fair price and don't want to come back for second or third fix like you will with other shops more

I have taken my cars(2) to the shop on 290 for a very long time. I have always felt they were upfront with me and when something could wait.. I was told that and when It was important I was told that as well.. They explain when I ask questions and I feel comfortable when I am told something. NEVER been hard sold on anything . I send many people there and I was sent to them as a referral as well. I went on the web to get their number today and just happened to read all the negative stuff.. I feel strongly enough to take the time to say I would not take my car any place else. Pros: Honesty, Integrity, Service,Quality of Work Cons: TV channel in the Lounge more

First off, my opinion is solely based off of an attempt to get a quote on several tires to replace the tires on my vehicle. I initially spoke with a representative at 11:00 AM and did not hear back about a quote until after 5:00. During this time, I called back to see what was taking so long, spoke with another person, had my information taken again, and told to wait for a call. Once my phone call was FINALLY returned, the price was much higher than anywhere else (web, other local suppliers), I only received one tire price after I requested several specific brands, I felt as if I was being ""forced"" into a sale, and on top of it all I was not given any other recommendations of comparable tires after requesting for their input. Pros: Decent supply of various tire manufacturers, although they only had 3 of the 4 tires I needed... Cons: High prices, poor customer service, unnesessary ""salesman"" attitude (this is a tire shop after all), pushy, poor listening skills more

A few weeks back I took my auto in to have my break pads replaced. I admit I was grinding a bit on the brakes, but I drove sparingly not to cause significant damage. After their analysis of my car, they told me that I needed to replace all 4 brake pads (which I can see) and all 4 rotors (which I don?t believe is true). Their response is that the rotors were too far ?gone? and could not be turned/resurfaced. So naturally the bill was going to be between $850-$900. Feeling I was being lied to, I pulled the rotors myself and took them to a well known auto part store, and guess what? Only one rotor needed to replaced and the remaining rotors could be turned. So I spent less than $160 and fixed the problem myself. I don?t mind paying a honest mechanic for the labor and a slight up-charge on parts, but being told that I need to spend more on parts and labor than is really needed is simple wrong. I would recommend pushing your car somewhere else. Pros: Provided a free estimate and analysis (granted it was wrong) Cons: Believe customers are automotive suckers more

I took a 2002 chevy blazer here to have dioed, they informed me that they could not do anything untill they changed the spark plugs, OK FINE (I knew the problem was fuel related the plugs just needed to be cleaned, but ok I understand the need for this) After some $300.00 diagnostics & spark plug charge, they informed me the fuel injectors & sender unit needed to be replaced at a cost of $2800.00 or so, we had it towed home. It has not run since then, I replaced the fuel injectors & sender unit, STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, Today I decided to pull the plugs back out & clean them up & clean out the cylinders, to clear any debri that may have accumulated in the head from all of the cranking I have done trying to start it. The Number 3 spark plug is VERY hard to get out, It took me almost and hour to get it. The stearing collumn it right there in the way. BUT I noticed that this plug did not match all of the others, & was caked with debri, when the others looked virtually new. Obviously these folks changed the ones that were easy to get to & blew off the hard work associated with cylinder No. 3. I took my Ford van there for diagnostics/repair at 7:30 am and it sat there all day without even a call to tell me that they will not get to my vehicle as previously anticipated. I returned the following day and they ran the same test I told them was run 3 times before at $83.00. They said they would need an addl 2 hours of diagnostic time and would not offer any commitment if they would find the problem. If you look for solutions as I do,you will do like me and look elsewhere. more
