Terrible business 10/25/2011

I was actually at store #11 Guess mine was the first corvette they have ever seen. Directional rims mounted on the wrong side which made tires mounted backwards wheel weights on outside of rim marring it and now almost $300 a piece front tires wont hold air. Less than 100 miles on new tires and one goes flat every week. Stay away far far away from Ken Towery as will my entire family. more

Ken Towery tried to take advantage of a lady, but failed BIG TIME.... 2/22/2011

I took my car on 2/21/11 to the Mt. Washington,Ky Ken Towery, I was called and told they could replace my radiator and two hoses for 677.00 I said that seems really high, he said I can take 10% off that, right then I knew something wasn't right! so I called around all the parts life-time warranty including anti-freeze was only 180.00 so I called back around and to install it would only be 80 bucks...so I called Ken Towery and told them to not touch my car that i was on my way to pick it up and what a shame that all the business I gave them in the past I would never be back ...oh the kicker on Preston Hwy The Ken Towery they gave me a 500.00 price and The Infinity dealership 490.00....Big time rip off in a small town. more

Beware of Ken Towery 12/17/2010

I keep saying that I will never return to Ken Towery but because of their many locations, I keep breaking my word. Between the condescending jerks who work there, they time warp they seem to dwell in where a half hour is an hour, an hour is two and two hours is an eternity, them trying to sell me things I don't need and the fact that they never seem to have the needed materials, the convenient locations aren't enough. \r I think I can say with complete surety that after today, I will not be returning, convenient locations or not. I went for new windshield wipers and a new headlight. I had been there the week before for an oil change and tire rotation and tried to have it done then, but-shocker-they didn't have the light in stock.\r I was told that it would be a half an hour. After almost two hours of my life being wasted watching ESPN, they called my name. After paying, the counter person laughingly told me that my car had been ready "for quite awhile" but they got busy and forgot more

Be Wary of the Up-sell 2/26/2010

I went in for a $19 oil change and two hours later they finally called me to the desk to let me know I needed $700 worth of brake work. What they didn't know was I had just had the brakes checked by my usual mechanic one month before and knew they were getting close to needing replaced. I played along to see where it would go. They went on and on about how unsafe the car was and I was ""down to the metal"" and how ""I wouldn't put my kids in that car"". I was so mad about the two hour oil change that I told them to please put the wheels back on so I could leave. While I was waiting on my car (another 30 minutes, by the way!) I heard them give essentially the same pitch to three other people who had come in for an oil change. One was a coolant leak that they claimed required a new water pump...for a cool $800! more

Crooks 5/29/2009

I took my car in for a "free" tire rotation since I bought my tires from them. They ended up tearing up the threading on a wheel stud and wanted me to pay $100 to fix something they did. Very rude and dishonest people. I recommend you take your business elsewhere. more

Wrong information 5/5/2009

I don't know much about cars, so when my oil light came on I took the car to Ken Towery's. There were some other things wrong with the car too so I got it all checked out. They told me that the oil light was about the cam sensor (it was coming on at high or real low rpms). They changed it for 100 something dollars. It stopped doin that at high rpms but after 10 minutes of driving, the light would come on at lower rpms. I took it to a midas for an oil change about 2 months later - they fixed it for 70 dollars, after all it was the oil sending unit. I still don't know what was wrong with the cam sensor or it was ever actually replaced. Not recommended. more

Can't finish the job 11/18/2008

I had my son take my minivan in to replace a flat tire at the the store near Oxmoor Mall (7511 Shelbyville Rd.). All told, I purchased two new tires and got an alignment. \r \r However, this morning while taking the 1st grader to school, I noticed something bouncing around in the back of my van: it was the full-size spare with the wheel cover still on it. The new tire was mounted without a wheel cover. \r \r Shoddy work and poor follow-up. I have a very bad back and cannot remount the spare. more

Knowledgable and friendly service 10/30/2005

Some prices little more than other stations but less than going to the dealer and same warranty. They do good, fast work for a descent price. Clean waiting room and nice showroom and variety of tires avaliable. more
