THEY RUINED MY CLOTHES!! 9/14/2011

This place is terrible and their manager rude and criminal. I brought a $400 dress to them after wearing it once tho be cleaned and got it back more than a size smaller!!! My size 6 was barely a 4! He told me that I must have gained weight in the THREE DAYS that they had it, when ,actually, I'd lost weigt. The shoulders shrunched up to my ears, it rode up my back and over my hips. he told me it looked ""almost perfect."" He told me that he would do it over and have them stretch it with steam. I disputed that trying to stretcg it with heat would ruin the elasticity of the fabric. He told me that heat and steam are not the same. He took the dress adn when I got it back it was STILL TOO SMALL. He told me that he checked it against the label and the measurements of the dress measure the manufacturer. Then he told me that all dresses shrink the first time you dry clean, then denied that it shrunk. He told me that he gave it to his insureance company to inspect and they said the same. When I sasked him if he sent my dress to his insurance company after he cleaned and stretched it, how did he manage to get it back to me again in 2 days. He told me that no, he called them. So they didn't inspect my dress? more

Horrible New Manager 5/24/2010

The Kims were so lovely, but the new manager is completely rotten. Today, I had 3 issues: 1. they pressed a blouse that I had told them (and the tag says) ""no iron"". He insisted that ""pressing"" and ""ironing"" are 2 totally different things. 2. I had a stain they didn't get out or acknowledge and he argued it wasn't a ""stain"", but a ""discoloration"". 3. He charged me $19 for a long sweater/tunic that he argued was a dress!! In the past, the same sweater was always $12 and we even found it in the records and he wouldn't change it. A complete rude scoundrel. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!! Cons: ruined clothes, rudeness, over-priced more

THIS PLACE IS A SCAM--THE OWNERS ARE LIARS AND THIEVES--YOU WILL LOSE YOUR CLOTHES 9/18/2007

Avoid this dry cleaner at all costs. We had been taking our things here for a year, during which time we have encountered at least 5 different clients complaining that Kim's either lost or ruined their clothes and the manipulative Asian woman in charge acts like she doesn't understand and does nothing about it. They add charges to people's bills and hope they don't notice, we've caught that too. Unfortunately, e both work and were lazy about switching places. They ""lost"" $300 of my clothes once, including a nice Theory dress shirt and a silk pashmina. No credit or effort to locate. I let it go, again our own fault for our laziness but we just kept going there because it was the most convenient to our apartment. Then it happened *again* within a month, this time over $200 from my wash-and-fold. And it is always my nicer stuff. These people are without a doubt STEALING clothing intentionally. DO NOT believe Mrs. Kim's lies that she is checking for you--she does nothing b/c she is probably selling your stuff to a thrift shop. She even feigns chest pains when you try to confront her!!! She has done it twice to people we know, and to us! She also pretended to burst into tears when my fiance tried to confront her! She is such a bad actress that it is almost funny to watch. A completely manipulative, dishonest, cheating establishment. The woman's husband even threatened me physically when i tried to ask for a refund! Do your wardrobe a huge favor and do not bring anything you value here. The people who run it are scamming crooks with zero integrity. They sucessfully scammed me, and I've watched several unfortunate residents be victimized. I hugely regret not changing cleaners sooner, and I hope this fraudelent business is shut down and the liars that run the place are held accountable. This is the first negative review I've written, but honestly people need to know that this place is run by bad people who have no problem stealing from you. Pros: You'll taper your wardrobe fast Cons: You'll be conned by the owners who steal your favorite clothes!!! more

One of the WORST cleaners in New York! 7/13/2006

I have had it with Kim Cleaner's in Tribeca! They are absolutely terrible. Many of my things have been damaged and I wouldn't want people to make the same mistake I have made. Cashmere...forget it! Sweaters returned thinned out, stretched out, and faded. I couldn't recommend it less. Pros: Pick up and drop off Cons: everything else including the price and the condition of your clothes more

Horrible- never go there! 2/19/2005

I brought my laundry there at 8:30 AM and asked to make it by 5:00 PM. Reasonable request, considering the hurrendaous amount of money they charge. theys say they can not make it at 5, but it will be ready by 6:30 PM. I asked to confirm that it will be ready the same day, since I don't have a second set of sheets and I'd rather not give it to them if they can not make it. The owner assured me that it will definetly be today. In the evneing I stop by at 6:30 and it's not ready and the owner sayi she will deliver it today. To make a long story short i had to sleep without bed sheets and she refused to gieve me my money back!!!! NEVER EVER GO THERE! THEY ARE HORRIBLE AND WAY TOO EXPENSIVE! Pros: horrible service, expensive, rude Cons: horrible service, expensive, rude more
