I bought 2 golden retrievers fom Just pets on July 5, 2012. One male and one female golden as a gift for my daughters. For the last 6 months, I have spent a small forturne getting to the bottom of puppy mill breeding. \r \r Hannah- Needs double hip replacement and shoulder surger for dysplsia. Estimated cost from a reputable surgeon at VRCC, $3000 for shoulder and $12000 for hips. Expected prognosis is Hannah could expect a low activity life, however more problems could surface as she ages. \r \r Harley-Needs shoulder and hip surgury for dysplasia. While not as severe, estimate cost from a reputable surgeon at VRCC $5000. Expected prognosis is Harely could expect a low activity life with premature arthritis. Stephanie has been very glad to point me to the contract, my money back or a new dog. Well, I have spent more on xrays and diagnosis than I paid for the dogs which she acquired from a puppy mill. \r \r Do you research, I didn't and got caught up in the moment with a retail store which bought dogs from a broker which bought dogs from a puppy mill. \r \r I am now faced with some very dishartening discisions with my daughter which is more painful than any amount of money I paid for these two darlings. Not exactly what I signed up for and getting my money back wont stop the tears in my daughters eyes. more

Terrible pet store... I bought a Golden Doodle for Just Pets in Oct 2011. The summer of 2012, she started displaying signs of hip-dysplasia and dislocating knees. The dog will require surgery in both hips and knees and she is just over a year old. This will cost thousands with no guaruntees. This place has ruined owning a puppy as her life is now restricted due to her hips and knees. Take your money and spend it on a healthy animal, I have called Just Pets multiple times, the owner orginally promised to talk to her vet and get back to me. I haven't heard from her for months and my phones calls go left un-returned. Their ""health guaruntee"" is a joke. more

We just purchased our golden retriever puppy, Brooklyn, from Just Pets! We had the BEST experience!! We are moving into our house from an apartment and they were able to board her for a week so we could get everything settled for her - and they even let us come and see her whenever we wanted!! Joel and Emily were SO helpful with answering all our questions and gave us so many tips to make this an easy transition for Brooklyn! They are great people and work for a great company that helped us find our puppy!! We will definitely recommend them to everyone we know - thanks Just Pets!! more

(BarbR) I love my dog Golden Retriever (Samson) your a fool for saying such things. If a dog is diagnosed with something it is not Just Pets fault or anyone else, it's something that can happen to any one or any pet at any given time. Quit blaming people and blame yourself. Perhaps you should take better care of your pet. Yes, I am angry because of this foolishness. And for (Banshee4u), I'd rather get my pet from a Just Pets than from a shelter, this sounds cruel and mean but I have looked at getting a pet from the shelter but never felt comfortable and besides I couldn't find a Golden Retriever from a shelter. People, I respect everyone's opinion and now I'm giving mine. Keep your opinion's to yourself and if you are unhappy about how you got your pet and where you got your pet then perhaps now you won't get one from Just Pets. Simple! Stay far away from this pet store as well as any other retail pet store that sells dogs. Regardless of what they claim they get their dogs from puppy mills, no reputable breeder would EVER sell dogs to pet stores. Yes these poor puppies need loving homes however the more consumers buy this continues the demand for puppy mill dogs. We bought a dog from these con artists, a Shiba Inu, after it's first check up we found out it had a heart murmur, we contacted Just Pets they offered to replace the dog however how do you give back a pet you have bonded with and we knew he would be euthanized. We have had him for three years, these are his growing list of issues: Heart Murmur, Epilepsy, Auto Immune Deficiency, Sever Allergies, Swollen Hock Issues...it goes on and on...he also does not have an undercoat which Shiba Inu's have ( we have a pure bred from a reputable breeder so we know the breed - she is 6, no issues!). Basically this poor little guy has almost every problem found in puppy miil inbred dogs, every vet and specialist we have taken him too agrees...he is a puppy mill dog!!! If you buy a dog from these scam artists you are running a huge risk and could be faced with thousands in vet bills and a dog that will have a short life. We tried to find the so called reputable breeder, what we found out is they were located in Oklahoma which is notorious for puppy mills...they had a P. O. Box and never answered our inquiries. PLEASE stay away from this business, they are scam artists and liars, they see dogs as a commodity to make a profit and don't care about maintaining healthy and good breed standards...regardless of the lies they tell you I assure you these are inbred puppy mill dogs and you will get a dog with many health issues...Buy from a reputable breeder!!! Do your homework, read about the breeds and meet and check out the breeder... We love our dog, and will care for him and do what ever it takes to make his life comfortable...Just Pets should not be allowed to be in business nor should any other shopping mall puppy mill puppy pushing retailer! PLEASE do more

My family & I have just purchased our 2nd pup from Just Pets in Lone Tree & couldn't be happier! Lisa, the store manager has helped us both times & she is a gem! She helped us with breed and temperament decisions that would best suit our family & lifestyle. She helped us every step of the way with everything we would need and possibly need to know! We adopted our first pup in December & were so pleased that we returned a few weeks ago & bought a 2nd! Lisa & the staff at Just Pets are so helpful & their puppies are just wonderful! The store is clean & the puppies are so happy & healthy we highly reccommend this store if you are looking for a family pet! more

I just bought a puppy with my girlfriend a couple weeks ago and our puppy is doing amazing. The service was really good and the staff was extremely knowledgeable and obviously cared about all of their puppies. It was clean and all of the pets looks happy and healthy. They also provide a guarantee for your puppy's in case of a genetic disorder or something inherited. They definitely do NOT use puppy mills so I do not know why someone said that. They give you the breeder's information to contact at any time so they are definitely not hiding anything. It was a great experience and I love our puppy. I will definitely go back when I am ready for another pup. more

I bought my ShihTzu Sept 2009. He is now 1 1/2 years old and has just been diagnosed with Auto Immune Deficiency. This is not a curable disease. Some dogs do okay with meds and some have to be put down. more

We purchased a Shorkie puppy (named Ginger) yesterday, January 15th 2011, from this store. The people there were very friendly, knowledgeable and very compassionate about their puppies. It was one of the cleanest pet stores I have ever been in. They answered all of our questions and made sure we had everything we needed to take our puppy home. They did such a great job we are going back today to purchase the Silky Poo (named Lucy-Fur AKA LuLu) for my father. more

Best pet store in town. The employees are great and know their stuff. They dont hide anything, the kennels are clean and the puppies look healthy and happy. They really care about their pups and from talking to them, I understand they work with the best breeders around (All USDA licensed) Keep up the good work Just Pets and I know I will be back soon! more

NO REPUTABLE BREEDER WOULD EVER SELL TO A PET STORE IT DOES NOT EXIST PERIOD. BROKERS ARE THE MIDDLE MAN BETWEEN THE PUPPY MILL AND THE PET STORE. JUST PETS EVEN ADVERTISES THAT THEY GET PUPPIES FROM BROKERS THERE YOU GO.. ALL PUPPY MILLS AND BROKERS ARE USDA CERTIFIED DOES NOT MEAN A THING. THAT DOES NOT MEAN THE MOTHER OF YOUR PUPPY IS NOT IN THAT CHICKEN CAGE, NOT WITHOUT PROPER VET CARE, FOOD EXERCISE HUMAN CONTACT . .DID YOU KNOW YOUR PUPPIE WAS SNATCHED FROM HER AT 6 WEEKS ..NICE DID YOU KNOW SHE CAN NOT WALK BECAUSE HER LIFE IS SPENT IN THIS CAGE? HER NIPPLES DRAG TO THE GROUND BECAUSE OF ALL THE LITTERS SHE IS FORCED TO HAVE. Stay away from this pet store. I bought an undersized pet who turned out to be sick with a uncurable disease. I had to accrue vet bills to treat & put down this poor little guy within a month of paying for their overpriced pets & unnecessary pet food. The owner does not care since they will only you give you half your money back if you bring the pet back within 3 days. So he got my money & I got a dead pet. Great.... Stay away from Just Pets and get your pet directly from a breeder to save yourself the pain of watching your newest family addition die within a month. Terrible pet store.
