Hilarious Acapella 2/15/2006

The Mental Notes are a very, very entertaining acapella troupe in Baltimore. These Johns Hopkins students are infamously known for their Hawaiian shirts, funny on stage antics, and incredible vocal talent. They perform several shows a year and usually do one regional or national tour a year. The MN also have several CDs out, all of which are great. Though most of their songs are all covers of popular 80s and 90s hits, nothing beats the Mental Notes' spin on acapella performance. Concerts are usually held in Bloomburg Hall's Schafler Auditorium or in Shriver Hall; tickets are usually $5 or less. more

Hilarious Acapella! 8/15/2005

The Mental Notes are a student acapella group on the Hopkins Campus. For dates of shows, you can go to their website or contact them through email. I've seen them perform a couple times before and every time they impress me. I find their humor hilarious because they don't need to be crass in order to be funny. Also, they're amazing singers and have great voices. When they perform, you can tell they really enjoy it, and they're parodies of popular pop songs are even more enjoyable for the audience. Mostly they do coveres of pop songs, so if you really like pop music and want to go to a free concert instead of paying $70 for some overpriced mainstream show, go see the Mental Notes! more
