I've waited > 1yr. to write my review, hoping that damage caused to my skin at GLOW would eventually fade away & I could be as pleased as many other patrons, but now it's time to share my own truth. Smart Citysearchers, click my username to see Im a regular & balanced reviewer - tho' a flurry of 10/22 & 10/23 reviewers critique ONLY Glow, referencing my comments...?? Hmmm : ). While my on-site experience of Glow was pleasant & relaxing, what truly matters in a spa is the final impact to one's skin. Since for me that outcome has been very distressing, I'm compelled to CAUTION OTHER FAIR/SENSITIVE SKIN PERSONS ABOUT POSSIBLE PERMANENT SCARRING FROM GLOW'S EXTRACTIONS. Very fair-skinned, I chose top-rated Glow on reviews suggesting skilled hands, highly attuned to personal skin needs. Before my facial, I voiced concern re: 1 small flat scar caused by a previous manual extraction (months prior) at Mario B. & my desire to avoid a recurrence of such damage. Since my Glow facialist was also fair & light-eyed I assumed she'd be aware of possible hypersensitivity! Never having experienced the "extractor " implement before, I didn't think much at the time of the multiple sharp "pinches" I soon began feeling on my face during the extractions, & a friend who saw my red face later that day suggested the irritation & red "dots" would soon go away. Well, over a year later, I'm still waiting. I feel strongly that Glow did not adequately inform me about possible harm that an extractor can wreak to sensitive skin, or discuss & offer alternative pore-cleansing techniques. I now have an apparently permanent series of flat red scars on both my cheeks that resemble a heroin user's needle tracks. So from now on I'll be wearing foundation make-up, which before my Glow facial was an enhancement to my appearance, NOT an everyday necessity. THINK TWICE about Glow if you have sensitive skin.
Pros: Great location, soothing space, clean
Cons: Inadequate "risk" assessment & disclosure, facial scarring (sad, but true!!)
