Love My Cars 5/14/2010

I have purchased 4 vehicles from Jerry Hunt Auto Sales in the past, one being an '08 Impala in the past month, and have been very pleased with not only the vehicles but the service I've received. I've had 2 of these vehicles for over 10 years and have had normal "wear and tear" issues, but have never had any major problems from any of them. The vehicles have been great, the sales people and staff are friendly, and the owner Todd has been nothing but helpful. I would recommend this dealership to any of my friends and family. more

They Don't Stand Behind Their Cars Which Tells You They Are JUNK!!! 5/9/2010

My fiance bought a truck from Jerry Hunt Auto Sales in Lexington, NC. We drove over 2 hours to pick it up and bring it back home. The very next day the starter went out. We called Jerry Hunt Auto Sales and they said they weren't liable for the Starter and the warranty didn't cover it. 2 days later we were headed hunting and heard this aweful popping sound in the front of the truck. HA turns out the Right front axle was broken, and then on top of that we got stuck out in the woods because the truck overheated and was boiling in the reserveware. Jerry Hunt made us pay a 200 fee for them to fix these things on the truck that was in our possesion for less than 5 days. Basically they don't inspect their cars before they sell them so before you leave the lot ask for a copy of the inspection. If I had a copy of the inspection I would have sued them and told them to keep the POS. I just got the truck back yesterday and it was bought on the 21st of April. I would like to say that I was suprised more

Raul and Aarron went above and beyond to make our sale quick and painless. We were in and out in about 34-45 minutes and drove away with our new truck. It was a very pleasant and hassle free experience. They are very flexible and do everything that that can to ensure that you get what you want! I couldnt ask for a better experience. Jerry Hunt Auto Sales, SALES LEMONS!!! 11/26/2009

I have bought 2 cars from him and both have been lemons... the first was a 98 honda civic and it ran good but none of the power opps worked and the car leaked really bad when it rained and the tires leaked air on a daily bases.... then I desided to give them another try thinking maybe it was just the car not the dealership so I bought a 02 Trail Blazer from them 3 weeks ago and in the last three weeks I have had problem after problem with this car. And they seem to not to care I have never met such sorry people in my life... Who would sell a mother of 3 a car that may not make it from point a to point b. I would not suggest any one to this lot. Unless you are just out wanting to buy a lemon!!! more

I bought a 2008 Honda from Jerry Hunt in March. I rate my service level at a 10. I was treated very well, my salesman was very patient as I took a long tome to decide which car I wanted. I got the car for a lot less than other Honda dealers, I had been searching for awhile. The car needed tires but I did get $$$ knocked off during the negotiation process. I loved my salesman because he did everything that he said he would, including warming my car up on a cold morning. Overall, great experience and NO ONE should complain about this dealership...They treat you right and if they say it, they do it. My next car will come from Jerry Hunt. Bought a Ford Expedition from Jerry Hunts back in Feb of 09. I did not think we had a chance to get financed due to a messy divorce. Our salesman was John Barry and he treated us like royalty the whole time. He took us out in the rain, held the umbrella for my wife, explained the vehicles options while we drove it, and overall made us feel like we were family. The financing went smooth and before we knew it John told us to get ready to drive the truck home. It is still running fine and we are both happy. Thanks to Jerry Hunts and to John. They both provided a pleaseant buying experience. more

DON'T Buy A Car From Jerry Hunt Auto In Lexington NC 3/6/2009

I came across this site by accident or I thought!!! I was so glad that others have posted reviews about Jerry Hunt Auto and their ""DISHONEST"" ways. My daughter purchased a car from Jerry Hunt Auto January 2008. From the very beginning the whole thing was dishonest!!!! My daughter had just turned 19 and in college. She went to Jerry Hunt and they sold her a car with NO job and even gave her a bogus employer name and telephone number. I am not so sure that the finance company that they deal with is not part of it because they even put down that she had been working there for 10 years - that would put her at 9 years old. I intercepted a letter from the finance company with this information on it. Anyway, the salesman promised to put new tires on the car but that was never done. Second, within a couple days of having the car the heater stopped working, and the fan belt started making a terrible noise. She had a 30 day warranty so she took it back for them to fix. When she got the car back the same thing begin to happen all over again. No heat in the car, fan belt making a noise, thermostat went out. She took it back and again they claimed they fixed the problem. By this time the 30 days was running out. When she got the car back all seemed fine for a couple weeks then EVERYTHING started happening to the car. She had someone else look at the car and discovered that the thermostat was not replaced nor was the belt. Now, where is the car - sitting in the yard undriveable. Blown head gasket, suspension is gone, still no heat, you name it - it is wrong with this car. She still has until January 2010 to pay for the car and has no way to go. PLEASE - Anyone thinking of buying a car from Jerry Hunt - DON'T!!!! I really sympathize with all the reviews because I know what my 19 year daughter has gone through. Jerry Hunt - clean up your dealership!! Young adults and struggling folks in Lexington TRUSTED that your company was a trustworthy. You should be ashamed! more

I bought a '94 Astro van from the W-S location. "Replace battery" is specifically written on the invoice. The next morning it would not start or power anything in the vehicle.The AAA guy informed me that the dead battery WAS NOT NEW, and was too small for my van. The sales guy told me it was my fault and he wouldn't pay. And continued, "I don't care!" more

I bought a '94 Astro van from the W-S location. The van was purchased on Feb 6, with the intent to take delivery on Feb 7 so the seller could install a new battery. ""Replace battery"" is specifically written on the invoice. Upon pick-up, I saw a different battery than had been in the van the previous day. The next morning it would not start or power anything in the vehicle. I called AAA member services. The guy from AAA battery service first tested the battery. It measured 2.54 volts, not the 12+ it should. It also measured 0.00 CCA, and was rated at 400 CCA. (The proper battery is rated 770 CCA, thus the dealer-installed battery was the improper size, as well as dead.) The AAA guy informed me that the dead battery WAS NOT NEW. He provided a proper new battery at a cost of $122.76 after taxes and trade-in of the old one. He then performed an alternator/charging system test, which passed. After that he tested for any power drain in the electrical system, and found none. Everything showed the old battery was no good. On Feb 21, I went to the dealer to get my license plate, and informed my salesperson, David Carter, of the battery situation. He told me to call if I did not hear back from him by Feb 23, 10am. At 3:07pm, on Feb 23, I called. He told me I could not get anything from him, that it was my fault because I traded in the old battery. I told him I had the printouts from the tests run, clear evidence. He repeated that I shouldn't have traded in the old battery, and should have called him instead of AAA. I informed him that I felt obligated to report his business practices. He said ""I don't care..."", at which point I hung up the phone. If you see something you want here, just remember ""I don't care!"" is all you can expect after you sign the dotted line. BUYER BEWARE!!! Pros: Like the van. Hope it stays running. Cons: My belief that all used car dealers are cheats is again reinforced! more

They have had my car MORE than me, heck my warranty will be out by the time I get it back! 3/12/2008

I bought my car $8,900, 2001 Mitibushi on Feb. 18,2008, they did not get it ready and to me until Feb. 20, 2008. I didnt even put but a 1000 miles on the car when it decided to just quit moving in the middle of the road. Pushed it off the road into a bad spot, only place available as it did not move, left it till the next day before thet picked it up. Then waited a day, no call so I called them. Oh no one told you we picked it up, yea good thing you have warranity, its the trans. We will call you back. Waited, and waited and waited, no return call so we called them. Oh we moved it to a Transmission Shop, when asked where, where we take our cars. It took 5 days to find out where they took it and after them saying, Transmission, no Torch Converter we find out from the transmission shop that its the pump, and said Hunts told them to patch it, no warranty with that..........What the heck???? PATCH IT????? Still in limbo here. \r Short warranty, dont you think they should fix it or are just glue it together hoping, which by the way is really soon, the warranty is up on it when it falls apart. They have had the Car more than I have till this date and is by no way fair at all on this warranty deal. Does anyone relize I am paying a fortune for insurance on a car I cannot drive and inconviencing everyone around me getting to a job I got to pay for this thing. I am a 19 year old that has a hard enough time without people like JERRY HUNTYS AUTO SALES trying to kick me down before I even get started. He already kicked my brother that is 21 with a 2 year old baby, nice that his car breaks down on him when he had that baby in the car on a back road. BEWARE BUYERS!!!!!! Worst Place to Buy a CAR- NO HELP TO BUM CAR SOLD-FELL APART ALMOST IMMEDIATELY 3/12/2008

Here it is, I bought a 2003 Chevy Malibu, paid $8000, on Feb 8th, on the 12th the alt. went bad. After a couple phone calls they said they would fix it. They did and by the following week it was making quite a racket, the alt. So I called them and they said they wouldnt fix it again, OK no problem where did you get the alt, all new alts have guarantees on them I will just go and get and put on myself. Nope not going for that either. Said basically tough luck. Then last night the alt. just quit. I called today got into a heated discussion, just want to know where you got this alt. so I can exchange and get it fixed. Nope, they werent going to help what-so-ever. I question thier ethics on customer service and when they put a warranty on a car you drive out of there is it just glued together with hopes of it getting through that month? VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! \r Boy do I feel terrible, after they claimed they had fixed my car, I thought they stood behind it, I recommended my sister to get a car there, right after that is when my alt went to pieces and get this, her car is in a worse predicament!! He glues and duct tapes every car together long enough (and sometimes not then) to get about two miles. I learned this when I "test drove" a car from him when I was young and stupid/ blind and 16. Had to push the car back to his office with the help of the mechanic I took it too to have it checked out, laughing all the way. Hunt takes advantage of the immigrants who move into Lexington and dont know they should watch out for a wolf in sheeps clothing.\r Quote the employees are taught to say automatically "Oh we have a person coming to put the second and fourth gear back in tommorow, just sign here." more

I purchased a used vehicle at Jerry Hunt's and they went beyond the normal call of car lots to help get you in a car. They are not pushy and don't try to sell you something you don't want. When you find something you like they work with you to help you get it financed and make sure you are happy. The entire sales staff is very friendly and go beyond the normal. If you are looking to purchase a good used vehicle this is definitely the best place to look. Their prices are also very reasonable. PROS: A very large selection of used vehicles to choose from. CONS: None that I could find. more
