Food is very good - the hamburgers especially. Service is ok - nothing great but nothing bad either. Great prices (considering how expensive most restaurants are in the area). The wait for outside seating on a Sunday night was an hour, but inside was immediate seating. more

My wife & 2 teens & I just returned from Lake Tahoe. One of the best meals we had was at Jasons. The food was great - the service the best we've had in a long time. Right on the lake - outside bar with musicians. We ate on the patio - a beautiful night. We'd definetely go back! more

we had to park in the state park lot for a $5 fee. our waiter found our car and got us a refund!!! he earned double the effort for helping us out with out our asking. more

Had the salmon special with a pineapple glaze. It was so moist and just melted in my mouth. Swapped out the rice side dish for the battered fries which were great. My husband had the steak with pasta in a gorgonzola sauce with a glass of the porter beer which was the specialty that night. We sat outside on the deck with wonderful views of the lake. When it got cold we headed inside for dessert. Great place and will go again next time we're in Kings Beach. more

We were at Jason's today. The solid board fence is being replaced with a fence with glass panels, as far as we could tell. The construction area was wrapped in plastic so it was hard to tell much. It does look hopeful that the views of Lake Tahoe will return. The food and featured brew was excellent. more

There were 7 of us with reservations for dinner at 6:30 on a Saturday night. We were seated immediately by our very friendly waitperson. Two of the people had the salad bar and enjoyed it. Several people ordered the grilled artichoke and were thrilled with how delicious it was. They also ordered sides of french fries that were crispy and non-greasy. Two other people split the Filet Mignon and it was cooked quite Pink for Medium Rare, but they really enjoyed it. My friend and I shared the large size Pork Ribs and they were fantastic. Rarely have I had such tender, lean pork that flaked off the bone. It was plentiful and really delicious. It was accompanied by skinny, long green beans in the lightly buttery sauce with a nice zing. The wild rice pilaf was really good and perfectly cooked. Their onion soup and clam chowder were devoured by others with lip-smacking enjoyment. In all it was a great meal, and very reasonably priced. more

We own a condo in Tahoe, and when we unload from the car, we head straight to Jason's. It is a staple for Tahoe visitors, and especially us. We started going to Jason's in 1987...we usually split the mushroom burger and each get a salad bar as well. The extensive salad bar, the good burgers, the atmosphere...it is an Old Tahoe place more

We went to Jason's following a recommendation in the Rough Guide and went back the next night as it was so good. The food was fantastic - we are a family of five and all had separate choices and everyone thought theirs was the best. The setting is nice as it is on the beachside, the service is pretty good (first night ok, second night great), but for us it was the food. And if you have room after the enormous main course (don't bother with a starter unless you can eat supersize meals) try the desserts - the Jamie's Chocolate Silk Pie is amazing and at five dollars it's about half the price of other restaurants around. more

My wife and I stopped in at Jason's for lunch when we were staying in Tahoe Vista and it turned out to be an excellent choice. As someone else stated, finding the front door is a bit of a challenge. We actually entered through a side door and I'm glad we did because that route gave us a view of what we thought was an excellent salad bar. There were so many choices we both decided to take them up on their salad bar lunch buffet deal. You have a choice between a single visit and unlimited access. We went with the single-visit price and it proved to be ample. When we were done with our healthy salads we felt so good about ourselves we split an old fashioned ice cream sundae with absolutely no regrets:) We chose to sit out in their covered patio area and enjoyed a nice view of the lake. It was warm enough not to need the heaters, but they have plenty of them. Great lunch experience, with good service and reasonable prices. more

We had a great time here with a pre-ride dinner to prepare to ride around Lake Tahoe the next day. It was a great meal and the view was outstanding as we ate on the patio. The meal did its job getting us fueled for a great ride the next day. They have a good salad bar as well. more

Don't worry about ordering from the menu...the salad bar is fantastic!! Clam chowder needed some help though...way to thick and lumpy! more
