She is super talented, innovative and an all around great time! it was by far the best salon experience I have had. I am counting down the days until I go back! more

I've been going to Alex for almost a year now and I can't say enough good things about her... she is so talented. She just recently did my hair for my wedding it looked so beautiful she listened to exactly what I wanted and having her around kept me relaxed as she is such a chill person. I received soooo many compliments on my hair that night and it stayed in all night. I had showed her a picture of what I wanted and she actually made my hair look better than what was in the picture. I can't thank her enough for doing such an amazing job with my hair she gave me the confidence I needed for that day. I totally recommend Alex as a hairstylist!!!!!! more

I recently moved into the area almost a year ago and I was in search of a hair stylist. I came across Selah Salon and saw nothing but raving reviews of Alex and I made an appointment with her right away. Alex was super friendly and listened to me on what I wanted. My hair cut looked amazing and I received so many compliments on my hair. Alex is so talented in what she does and whenever I sit in her chair it's like a breath of fresh air she is always in a good mood and really shows an interest in her clients. After years of getting my hair cut by stylists who do nothing but gossip and never listen to what I want in a hair cut I am so happy I found Alex. I totally recommend Alex to anyone that is looking for someone that knows how to style hair and make you feel happy when you leave the salon. more

I had a haircut appointment on Friday Aug. 20th. I have not had my hair cut in nearly a year and am sort of phobic as I have very long hair and am wary of new stylists. I made a same day appointment, which was good. I met with Rozi, and discussed wtih her my concerns regarding the need for a wash and go style as well as my fears about new haircuts. I asked her her opinion as I am not creative when it comes to my hair. She gave me some good ideas and her recommendations, checking with me as to my comfort level throughout the process. I was extremely pleased with her professionalism and creativity as well as her phenomenal skills at putting my needs into a very stylish and modern haircut. My fiance loved it, and so did I! I felt much at ease with Rozi and would recommend her to anyone. I look forward to my next haircut with her! more

My friend recommended that I try her hair stylist Rozi because I was traveling up to Poughkeepsie for haircuts. Well it was great! She gave me a dry cut which I have never had before and now my thin hair has volume. She also threaded my eyebrows which is very hard to find around here since most places use only wax. more

used to go to Marejah's salon in Riverdale, which always exceeded my expectations. Truly luxurious experience. Decided to see Jackie in White Plains at Selah Salon. It was probably the worst experience I have ever had in a hair salon in my life. Jackie was 35 minutes late. She talked for 1/2 the time to the manager about getting licenses for her salon (completely ignoring the client) and then moaned to me about her stomach for the 2nd half. I purposely booked my appointment with the owner of the salon and 1/2 way through my foils, she asked a stylist I've never used to finish my hair. The other stylist was good, and was as confused as I was, as to why the OWNER would walk away from a client in the middle of a process. The other stylist was great, but not who I asked for and not who I was paying for. The products they used on my hair burned my scalp, I couldn't use any product on my hair for 2 weeks without it burning. My skin was shedding off my scalp. The smell of the ammonia was so bad, they put a cold wet towel over my face when they were doing my hair. I was expecting Aveda natural products sans ammonia. It was horrible. 2 weeks later I cut all of my hair off, which I have been growing for 4 years. I had to spend another $100 to cut my hair up to my chin to get rid of all the damage. My hair still feels like straw and I am still just in awe at what a bad customer service experience this was and just how terrible the product was. Not to mention, the salon smells like a bar and barf. Stylists hands smelled like cigarettes and were sneaking around the corner to take text messages. If you are going to charge over $200.00 in Westchester, please deliver. more

I went to Selah for the first time a couple of weeks ago because I had been disappointed by the coloring I had gotten at my last salon. After attempting to fix the problem myself at home, I ended up with dry, brittle, orange hair. It was no easy task, but Rozi worked on my hair for hours, staying with me at the salon until well after 11 pm, until she got the color just right. She really understood what I wanted, and it was clear that it was as important to her to get it right as it was to me. I left with pretty, natural looking blond hair! And the cut she gave me is fantastic---long layers that frame my face just right. I went back the next week for a deep-conditioning treatment Rozi recommended called PM shine. It has restored health and shine to my hair. I've never been so impressed by a hair stylist before. Rozi is so knowledgeable, stylish, sweet, and talented! more

I have been seeing Rose for years and when I heard that she recently moved to Selah Salon I decided to check it out. I was so impressed with the spacious and chic salon. As for Rose, she was amazing as always. She listens to what you want but at the same time she incorporates her own style. She explains exactly what she is doing to your hair and why. Most importantly she takes it a step farther and explains to you how you can style your hair at home. Everyone loves their hair the day they get it cut or colored but to have someone explain how you can achieve the same style at home is just wonderful. In addition to doing a wonderful job giving my fine hair life and volume she also cut my brothers hair. And I can honestly say that her talents are just as phenomenal on short cuts. I think the best thing about Rose is that she is versatile. She can give you a natural looking cut/color or she can give you something very trendy/funky. I would highly recommend Selah Salon. I plan on visiting again soon. more

I have to say ever since Rozi Shkreli became my hair stylist my hair has dramatically improved, it has grown about 5 inches and has never looked to healthy!! I am addicted to her (: I see her once a month for my hair color and twice a week for eyebrow threading, she does an excellent job with eyebrows. She is a trained professional and for once does exactly what the client request, I am always satisfied with her work and her creative thought process. She also recommended amazing hair products the work so well for my type of hair … everything from shampoo & conditioner to hair repair treatment (after bleaching for so long I really needed to give my hair tender love and care). Her friendly personality is refreshing and filled with life. Not only do you receive an experienced hair stylist fully knowledgeable in her field & products but a beautiful lovely friendly person as well. Rozi gets two thumbs up from me & 5 stars! A woman’s hair says a lot about her and Rozi definitely translates my characteristics into my hair. Many thanks to her. more

I was looking for hair stylist for couple of years to get natural blond color. I found some not bad stylist but still was not satisfied totally. I made my search by Yelp and found Selah. Decided to give it to try. Worked with Rozi. Literally "worked", because this is how I see the any quality look can be done. Rozi explains every step what is she is doing, sharing her professional opinion about it, which product she is using and so on. She did my blond color using Paul MItchel products and she cut my hair. My hair looks beautiful and I get a lot of compliments. Shiny, natural, nice color. I got back to Rozi again and not afraid to experiment with her. I want to try also to thread my eyebrows with her. If anybody needs picture of my hair color, I can provide it. Rozi has a big potential, because she is eager to listen and try to find what really fits your style. more

Jackie is the best brazilian waxer I've been to out of the six or seven that I've tried over the years. Fast, professional, nice, and very thorough. Not a hair left! And the price is the best I've found in this area. If you're feeling chicken about getting a brazilian wax, just take Jackie up on her offer for a glass of wine before you start and chug that baby! You won't be sorry for taking the brazilian plunge. This past visit I also had Rozi thread my eyebrows. She suggested that I go a little thinner than I usually do, and boy was she right. It looks amazing. And while I was waiting for Rozi I watched her work a miracle on this girl's hair. She transformed the girl's hair from a dry, frizzy mess into a sleek and sophisticated style (I saw the before photo) that belongs in a magazine. For real. I was so impressed that I've decided to get a haircut with her, and I've had the same guy cut my hair for the past 15 years. I can't wait! See you again soon Rozi and Jackie! ***UPDATE*** Since getting my hair cut and colored with Rozi, I just want to say - WOW. When I walk on the streets people stare (my husband has been pointing this out). It's like when Rozi looks at you she sees your potential for beauty and style, and then makes it happen. She uses the best, most natural products and is full of practical solutions for any beauty problem. Go to Rozi and let her do her thing. I've never written a review before but wanted to warn others of potential bait-and-switch tactics at this salon. I had scheduled a REGULAR bikini wax over the phone; upon arrival, I told the woman at the front desk that I would be getting a regular bikini wax; and then I specifically told the woman doing the wax that I only wanted a REGULAR bikini wax, and did NOT want a Brazilian wax. It was my first wax, so while she was waxing me I didn't really understand that she was actually giving me a Brazilian. Plus, the intense pain was pretty distracting. She ended up giving me a Brazilian, which I was then charged for (it was around $60! Meanwhile, the regular wax would only have been btwn $20-$30). I was too lightheaded and stunned to complain, so I just paid for the Brazilian and left. I really wish I had complained at the time, but was really in no state to do so. The woman doing the wax was very friendly, but I feel that I was completely taken advantage of. I just wanted to warn others about this tactic. Those who are more experienced with waxing might not be as easily tricked, but newbies should beware. more

I came to Rozi with virgin, long, drag, dull, lifeless hair. I got a warm feeling from her right away, and told her I trusted her to be her blank slate. I couldn't have wished to be put in better hands... She was awesome. What a visionary she is! She is very trendy and stylish and up with the times, she totally respected my limits and gave me a whole new look (cut and highlights) and I feel like a new girl. I get sooo many compliments every day on my hair, and everyone wants to know where to go, her highlighting is amazing. This salon is THE place to go. So professional and chic. Rozi is new to the salon but I’m pretty confident she is a hair prodigy goddess. She has such vision and ease- its so natural to her, and I have never loved my hair this much. Everyday it’s awesome to have this hair. She’s a genius. Shout out to Jackie too! I started going to this salon for Jackie’s famous Brazilian wax. I have three friends who have gone to her. So fast, accurate, and not uncomfortable at all. I recommend to every woman this place. All the people there are super friendly... and it’s worth EVERY PENNY. Nick has years of experience including Bloomingdales, Saks,etc. and has a depth of knowledge of color. His "magic conditioning" mixture calms the frizzies and is a bargain. He is a gentleman and wants his customers to be satisfied - many, many of his regulars have followed him from his from previous salons. He is an independent hardresser at this location and will never give you a bad surprise with his services! Pros: Lovely setting Cons: none more

I divide my time between NY City and Westchester and through the years I have tried lots of stylists, and I have been to many of the most well known salons. I always come back to David, who is outstanding. Where he goes I follow....I always get compliments on my color, because David has a unitque talent for keeping it natural looking and because he pays a great deal of attention to detail. He and Nick are a great team and go the extra mile to find all the 'just right' products for me and my hair. I was looking for a good salon, that had the expertise of those stylists you'd find in NYC. When I was searching, this salon caught my on google due to all the amazing reviews, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I called for an appointment with Maria, who is one of the owners. I scheduled a haircut, and absolutely loved it! The last time I had my hair cut was with a well known stylist in Manhattan who has done work on celebrities like Jennifer Anniston and so on, so I didn't know what to expect coming into this salon. But when Maria cut and styled my hair I loved it ten times better then when I had it cut in Manhattan. Then she informed me about the keratin protein treatment, which eliminates frizz--so I came in two days later and had it done and can't believe the results!! Amazing stuff! I can blow dry my hair and style it the way they do in the salon, but half the time because there is no frizz at all. Maria is amazing at what she does. You need to check this salon out! I have been going to Marija (Maria) to get my hair cut and colored for years. I've recently moved out of the New York area, but often return to the city for work. I ALWAYS wait until I'm back in the NY area to get my hair done at Selah. I continually seek out new trends in hair; I want to look current, edgy, yet sophisticated. When I work with Maria, it is a collaborative effort and my hair always turns out beautiful. I have not had a bad experience in 8 years. I even followed Maria from her Bronx salon to her current, beautiful new salon, Selah! So, all you Bronx girls, forget the city and head to White Plains to get your pretty on! Maria is an invisionary on each client that she touches...I have been to the best from NYC, CAL., & MIAMI...Nobody gets me...nooooboooddyyy...ever...Until Maria...She got it....Sometimes, you need a hair doctor and she was mine...You know what I mean?
