Alex is by far the BEST STYLIST I've ever had work with my hair. Not only is she amazing professionally, she is also very warm and friendly, so I actually look forward to going in for my cut and color. Alex is THE BEST because she is skillful enough to cut your hair in a way that gives it body and shape while using very minimal hair products or none at all. For me this is awesome because I don't have to do anything to my hair. It styles itself. I always leave the salon loving my hair and it looks that way everyday until its time for another cut. All I do is wash and blow it dry and it looks as good as when I left the salon. Who can argue that that's not the best right? Since I have been working with Alex, I've never had so many compliments on my hair CUT & COLOR. I get rave reviews almost daily from people who know me and from complete strangers on the street. Finally, she has completely affordable rates. This is imperative for the working girl with student loans, commuting costs, and high rent rates in this area of the country. Her philosphy is to provide services at rates which are manageable for people to maintain so they continue to come back. It's definitely working for her because she has a loyal customer following. Alex also styles models for shoots in NYC and is highly in demand at the salon, but is very flexible and willing to work with your schedule. She also always makes sure you love your hair. I've been visiting Alex for 2 years now and even though I moved out of town, it is still worth the drive to see her. more

I was recommended to Alex by my daughter and thank goodness for that. Over the past several years I have been going to different hair salon's all over Westchester. After spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars at each salon I was never completely happy. But, to make matters worse I was becoming blonder and blonder and hated each haircut. I have been a client of Melinda's for the past 7 yrs and she is THE best ! she is very knowledgeable about her craft & quite versatile, as well. I have been going to Melinda for about 3 years now and I would not go to anyone else.. I have light blonde/wavy hair and am veryyyy anal about my highlights. Melinda is the only one I trust with highlighting and cutting my hair. I would actually sit there with my eyes closed and trust her to do what she thinks looks best. I've gotten my hair done by her for special occasions such as weddings and prom as well, which consisted of full head highlights, a trim, and an up-do. the color and style was perfect and I remember constantly getting compliments on the color. Her assistant Aimee is also extremely helpful and you will not find yourself sitting around and waiting to be taken care of.. I have recommended Melinda to my mother and many of my friends and family members no matter what the age/hair style because I know they will be happy with results. & not for nothing, the salon is absolutley GORGEOUS .. with a full bar inside, balconys, good background music, and relaxing/edgy environment. I normally get my hair done by Rose. She's trendy, fashionable, and gives an honest opinion. She's fixed some messes and given me exactly what I wanted. My hair is short and she knows what I want most of the time. My time in the seat is anywhere from 15 minutes to a half hour tops. Introduced a friend or two to her and they were immediately hooked into her. When she moved from Carmel to Selah's in White Plains, she seemed like she made a good decision, short of making of opening up her own salon. The only reason why I would go to Selah's is for Rose. Without her there, I wouldn't bother. more

I have been a client of Rozi's for years and I followed her from Carmel to White Plains. She is the only person I will let color my hair. Having been to several salons in the area, I was highly recommended here by a friend. The salon owner Maria, seemed nice at first, until she started yelling at the staff, about something, while she was doing a haircut on me at the time. At which I felt she didnt take the the time to ensure I was getting optimum service and was extremely unprofessional! Low and behold I left the salon with uneven hair. Be very careful! I will NEVER come back here, and being a referal will tell everyone about my experience, sorry! more

After moving to Tarrytown 4 years ago, I struggled to find a hair stylist and eye brow threader who I could trust. I just happened to walk by Selah once last summer and saw that they did eyebrow threading. Since that day, no one but Rozi has touched my eyebrows! She is amazing. She is a true artist. I get compliments almost daily. I will never let anyone else touch my eyebrows again! For several months, I did not even realize that Rozi was also a hair stylist. I researched Salon Selah before I made first appointment. All the reviews I read made my selection very easy: Maria was the stylist for me. When I walked in I had a very short syle in mind and had mentioned this to her. Maria asked me questions about my lifestyle and my style and walked around me several times before asking if I wouldn't mind keeping my hair long-er. I said I would give it a try. She worked great layers into my very fine,blonde hair and made it look as though I had thick luxurious hair that appeared to be 2 inches longer. My next visit I had my hair color done. WOW. WOW. WOW. I went to Selah Salon for the first time this weekend to see Alex. I went in for a dramatic color change (from brown and blond highlights to red) and a haircut. I brought in pictures and had a very specific idea about what I wanted. She listened carefully and added her own amazing suggestions. I am always skeptical in new salons, as I find that some stylists can be judgmental or inappropriately chatty with each other. This was the exact opposite with Alex - not only is she an amazing stylist and a true professional, she made me feel extremely comfortable. She is down to earth, friendly, and really attended to me as a client. Go to Alex for an amazing experience all around. I have been getting compliments on my hair from everyone - I love my new hair!!! more

So can I just say that Rozi just gave me the best cut and color that I have ever had in my life today. I just started going to Rozi and I can't get enough. I've got thick eyebrows and I've had many bad experiences waxing. As soon as she met me she was like, "I need to do your eyebrows" I let her do it because her eyebrows looked so great. She also transformed my hair from flat and brassy to layered and shiny.
