*I love Emily! AND I am SOOOO glad that she is back at Iris Salon*\r Never have i ever had a better eyebrow shaping with anyone else! First of all she actually does a thorough consultation with you, most people just start waxing away!! Totally scary and bound for horrible results!! Second of all she really listened to what I wanted and did not want! She gave me advice on how to take care of my brows in the meantime. There was something different about what she did, it made my eyes really stand out and complimented my face shape without taking too much off. And when i was done she gave me a 15% off next eyebrow wax card! Thank you Emily i will tell everyone i know to come see you!!! Take care. more

I have been in the Austin area for almost 3 years now. I moved from the California area and have had such a hard time finding someone to do my hair. I had been going to the same man since i was a teenager!!!! I stumbled across Iris on my way home from work and decided to give it a try. They were very warm and friendly as soon as i walked in the door, and made me feel like i had known them forever right off the start. THANK GOD that EMILY had an opening for highlights and a quick cut before she left that day! She made me look and feel so freshened up! I love my hair again! On top of it all she made me feel so comforted by her professionalism and obvious talent. I could even tell by the way she combed and parted my hair that she knew what she was doing! It made me feel very secure! Thank you! I will be back!!! more

I absolutely loved Emily! She gave me the best haircut that I have had in the longest time! Please do not let the other reviews fool you, this salon went through a horrible mgmt change-over in the last 4 months!!! I have never felt more welcome, comfortable or at home in a salon before. I've been here a few times every now and again thinking that it will get better next time. I like to give everyone a fair chance, 'cause everyone including myself has a bad day everyone once in a while but Iris Salon it seems has a bad day EVERYDAY. They really are the best at doing the worst job. I'm seriously doubting the authenticity of the raving reviews on here... probably from the massive staff they have. Not that have a lot of qualified employees but because of the high turn over they have. There's always someone new. It's a toss of the dice between bad and worst. Everything is dirty. The staff is unfriendly. The highlight job toasted my hair. The pedicure was sloppy and chipped 3 days later and completely uneven. Save your money, unless you enjoy helping Iris Salon purchase more false advertisements! haha more

Well, back in July I had gone in to get my hair cut by Crystal, but they had told me that she was no longer their, honestly it was the worst experience I have ever had in a salon.( I had said to myself I will never go back), but In October I got am email from them and it took me by surprise that it had Crystals' name at the bottom. I called and asked if i could get a haircut with her and they said yes. Will Crystal is back and the salon is also back to normal, the existing crew is coming back slowly and better, also the prices went back to normal. I'm SO HAPPY for all the girls at Iris Salon. Their pedicure and manicures are awesome and cheap!!! Best of Luck!!! more

This place is just the worst nightmare you ever seen. Dirty, everybody is so bored and looks lazy. Lady at the front desk met me with so broken English that I asked her a few times what does she mean cause I really couldn't understand her English. I felt that I piss her off, but is it my fault that you run a business in the States , but don't even speak ""intermediate"" language of this country? Well, she gave me a pedi and it was so so, she didn't polish all the way down and my toes are not similar length. She told me that she lives for 14 years in the States and I think it's really a shame to speak something between Spanish and English and expect that people will understand you. I'm not going back and don't recommend this place to anybody. Seems all good reviews are fake cause I can't imagine people who never been to a better place, like they write it here...it's just ridiculous! It's like to say ""Find a slice of pizza at the dumpster, it's better than at any restaurant"" more

I would like to say that I had a great experience when i visited Iris Salon ,I to own my own business and I belive that you are a leader by example and Ms Linda is a sweet woman with a great staff I will let all my friends know about this place ,and for the negative people leaving rude reviews I thing you should take a step back and read what you wrote there is enough negative energy in this word for spoiled little ...... like you all to be downing people whom are just trying to make it especially woman hateing on each other men do that to us already get a grib ladies Pros: Linda Cons: great place more

I went to the salon for a regular haircut and ended up with a great haircut , a manicure and massage (That Really needed). The ladies were very friendly and even offered a little glass of wine while they worked in my hair and later nails. the new owner was very nice and made sure all my needs were taken care of and also helped me with my 2 kids while I was being pampered... Thank You Thank You for a very nice time ... I for one will see you all soon\r \r \r AJ Pros: Good atmosphere and smiles all around are welcoming! My stylist Jinny is the best hair stylist that I've come across since I moved to Austin 3 years ago... I would definitely consider getting my nails done here too if I ever go out again. I chatted with the owner a little bit and she made sure that everyone was taking care of me well which is a rare thing to come by it seems. I called today to make an appointment with Mary at Iris Salon and the Asian woman told me she was no longer there. I asked her where she went and her first reply was she didn't know. I then asked her if she didn't know or wasn't going to tell me. She said she would not tell me. I told her I was not coming back to her salon (what a dump), but she didn't seem to care on bit. Mary was the best hair stylist I have ever had. She cut my short with style and did a wonderful job on my color. Finally a color I have been asking others to give me, but they wouldn't for various reasons. Mary is awesome, and now that I finally find someone, she has left. I have been here a few times in the past and it was really great but the last time i went back for a manicure and a pedicure the girl was on her cell phone the whole time speaking Spanish (also to most of her employee's). She said she was the new owner but she wasn't very professional and her clothes where trashy and provocative! And I could barely understand what she was saying to me because she had such a thick accent. It wasn't very relaxing like it was before she took over. I was really hoping she would at least do a good job on my nails but the polish was really thick and she acted like she could do good designs. All i wanted was a simple flower and that was even really bad! I went strait home and took off all of the polish and did it better myself! DO NOT go to this place!!! There was even this girl at the front desk that I'm not so sure was a girl because she sounded like a man. Pros: nothing Cons: everything!! more

I loved that I was able to make my appointments online- eyebrows, refill for solar nails and pedicure. This was the best part of the whole experience. When I got there the person that I did my appointment with told me that she couldn’t help me; so she passed me to another girl. The woman that did my pedicure was good. She was new and nervous, she didn’t know where thing were. The sad part of all this was she never got help from any one in the salon and I saw how the others talked about her. If she worked in a different salon I would have my pedicures with her every time. She did my eyebrows too. She did a great job. Then she took me to the girl that did my solar refills. Holly crap! I’ve had my nails for over 7 years and I have never ever experienced something like this. She was concerned with her cellphone and the nail work that she had done 15 minutes before the failed attempt of doing my nails. The job that she did was so bad that I made an appointment next day at another salon (my regular salon) so they could fix this (at the Saturday appointment they had to remove most of them). While I was at the salon every single employee was either on their phone, laptops, eating and there was one in a room sleeping- Never again…. Pros: online appointments Cons: Everything else more

I was so excited to find that Emily is back at iris salon! She always gave me a beautiful haircut and color! She has always been very professional and well educated in her field of work as well! You should def try her out! more

I got 2 pedicures with Elena last month and I'm a regular client of ""Iris"" now. She does a great job! Ask for a moisturizing pedi(scrab+hot paraffin), it costs $ 35 and worth it!!!\r \r I love this place, you feel like they really care about you, but not about your wallet! They clean the implements after each use and don't use 1 file or clipper for a few clients, I'm very picky about that and that's why I returned back!\r \r Pros: good customer service, friendly staff, affordable place more

I have been debating whether to cut my hair into a pixie shag style. I was waiting for my car to get fixed down the street at Yosh and decided just to walk in and check out the hair style books. Then I meet Maggie and we talked about what would work and not work for my hair. She was such an expert and very honest about everything. She was also very thoughtful to make sure I was really ready for such a drastic change. I put my life in her hands and the pixie cut turned out incredible! Its so playful. The only reason I went here was because I had gotten a gift certificate from my son in law. The staff was rude inattentive and didn't have a lick of sense as to what they were doing. I've never been jerked around so much in my life. Not only that the parking is just the worst, I almost got ran into because the only way to get out of there was to back directly into on coming traffic. Nothing something I will put myself through again anytime soon. My son in law had the right and sweet idea but chose absolutely the worse place to send me to. more
