Followed a recomendation to eat here from Westword. 6/18/2009

Gross..... So I was reading Westword's review of Indulge, and was very excited, seeing as I live blocks from. My wife and I were extremely disappointed! The food was TERRIBLE! And the ambiance was horrendous. too bright in there, every table was squashed together. I alway's thought the Westword's reviews were always off, especially of what they thought was quality cuisine, but this took the cake. Pros: No Pros Cons: Everything more

REAL Food 4/15/2007

If you like trendy, don't go here. If you like chain restaurants, don't go here. If you like very good, old-fashioned Italian food that tastes Italian and not influenced by the southwest, eat here. Mikey's is the best. The homemade spaghetti is wonderful. Everything is wonderful. Pros: Everything Cons: nothing more

Great neighborhood Italian with super friendly staff 4/14/2007

Despite the mixed Citysearch reviews, my wife and I decided to give Mikey's a try. We really enjoyed our dinner. I had the chicken parm and she had the baked ziti. Definitely great value for money and quite tasty. The staff was super friendly. It seemed that everybody working there made a point of coming by to make sure we had everything we needed and were happy with the food. Pros: Neighborhoody ambiance, great friendly staff, nice food Cons: None - we liked it! more

Not so great anymore. 2/19/2007

I went on a Friday night to Mikeys expecting to use my Entertainment book card. I've been to Mikeys about 10 times in the past 2 years and I was hoping for the same great food and service. I was extremely disappointed this time around. Pros: Ambience Cons: Soggy pasta, not concerned about customer experience more

The reviewers below forgot desert! 2/12/2007

I have only been once but the wait staff gave off that feeling like they had been there a long time and that they loved it there. They knew their regulars and took some time to get to know us. The service was a little slower than I would expect for a place that size, but it was friendly when it got to the table. The food was solid Italian food; not great, not bad, just solidly good (except for the homemade salad dressing which was so delicious that I liked my plate when my date went to the bathroom). We didn't realize that desert came with the meal we ordered, but they would not let us leave without taking some with us to go. We opted, on recommendation, for the Chianti sauce over spumoni. We thought we would try some in the car and then throw it in the dumpster on the way out. WRONG! I was full when we left. I mean real full. ""Ate lunch 3 hours ago and then fit more pasta in there somehow"" kind-of full. We ate the whole desert. It was great! It made the night. Thanks to the wait staff for making us take it. We will be back. I have never tasted anything like it. This is not a traditional desert. If you are looking for something different but perfect, this is it! Pros: Chianti sauce over spumoni, decent value more

Such a great secret for Denver. 1/5/2007

This is truly an authentic Italian restaurant. The dishes are homemade Italian. You feel like you are in your grandmothers kitchen. Entrees are reasonable. The wine menu is priced beyond reasonable. It doesn't matter if you are in a group or on a date it's a great little place to visit. Pros: Reasonably priced. Parking. more

There really is a Mikey 11/14/2006

... running Mikey's Bistro, and he turns out delicious Italian food. I've been here several times. Just a tiny hole in the wall on busy 38th, you'll miss it if you blink. Entrees range $10-16 and are easy to share. more

A true gem. 5/17/2006

I still kick myself for not visiting this place earlier, despite living in the area for most of my life. Mickey's offers a good menu, great service and a decent price. This is one of those cool little mom and pop type restaurants located right by 38th and Tennyson. All of the classic Italian fair is on the menu, but I find myself always getting the baked ziti. It's true, the Caesar salad really is to die for! they have the best Caesar dressing i've ever had. If you find yourself in the west Denver area and you're hungry for some quality Italian food, then I highly suggest checking this place out. Pros: Great Food, Decent Price, Friendly Service Cons: None! more

HORRIBLE DINING EXPERIENCE 5/5/2006

We were part of fairly large group that had made reservations. It took over a hour for the waitress to take our order and 1 1/2 hours before we received the food and then the order was incorrect. When we complained about the wait, the owner came out and yelled at us that he was working as hard as he could. When we got the bill and questioned it, the owner came out and screamed at me, calling me a fat ugly B----. Patrons said and stared in disbelief. Food overpriced for the quality. service was terrible and the owner/cook is disgusting and unprofessional. Cons: poor service, overpriced, disgusting owner more

have to agree! 10/23/2005

everything said below is true! had veal and lasagna. bottle prices on wine are good! Pros: food, prices more

Denver's best kept Italian secret 5/20/2005

We have dined at Mikey's several times a year for the last four or five years. It remains my favorite Denver restaurant. The homemade Caesar salad dressing is to die for. The rolls are sinfully delicious. My favorite dish is the ""Lover's Style Pasta"", which is a wonderful mixed seafood dish over linguine, with a delicious and flavorful light cream sauce. At $12, it's a steal. Mikey's has had the same staff for the entire time we've been going there, which definitely makes a statement about the caliber of the restaurant. Give it a try. If you like wonderful Italian food at reasonable prices and a quaint, non-pretentious atmosphere, you won't be sorry. more

A great dining experience! 2/2/2005

We went here tonight for the first time to grab a bite with some friends, it turns out this is the lil' Italian place everyone should know about. First of we walked in and noticed that it only has about 14 or so tables which makes for a very intimate setting. The gentlemen who sat us was full of enthusiasm and exited to be there, then we were greated by our waiter Joseph, (real cool, nice guy). He brought us some awesome bread they make there each morning, everyone loved the bread as we were about three baskets deep, the food was even better, zero complains just great food, and of coarse ya gotta have desert, hmmm. So Big Thanks to Alaya, Joseph, and the rest of the crew, we will be back soon! Pros: Service, Food, Inexpensive more

Good Neighborhood Joint 8/29/2004
