Indigo-GO GO GO! 6/28/2004

I had a first date and I couldn't have asked for a better experience than Indigo. Snap to park, romantic/hip atmosphere and great food that was creative but not froo-froo. They also have amazing wine list! Most importantly, it was reasonable priced and the staff was extremely friendly and knowledgable. I'll be back..but with somebody else..my date was a nightmare! Pros: hip and casual, great food, reasonably priced more

Incredibly poor! When Indigo first opened, the kitchen showed a sure and deft hand with California type cuisine. Ingredients were fresh, presentation was simple, saucing was light and enhanced the basic flavors. It has really fallen off. Risotto made with long grain rice??? Drowned pork loin in a gummy apricot sauce??? Wilted lettuce in the salad?? Stay away!! The chef apparently is... Pros: Service, Ambiance, Wine list Cons: , FOOD, FOOD more

Impressive 12/27/2003

I drive by Indigo almost every day and have always been intrigued. My anticipation was well worth it. The service was excellent. The hostess and our waitress were very warm, personable, friendly. The food was really good. We had the mussels steamed in Guinness- entree sized, tri-colored linguine with seafood, vegetable napoleon. Trio of sorbet. Yum. Superb wine list as well. We were even more delighted when we rec'd a tasting glass of red- complimentary. Street parking was easy. Will definately go back!!! Pros: service, wine, food more

Best Value in City 9/5/2003

We have been to Indigo three times this year. We have found that great care was taken for the correct balance of flavors that the match with a good wine list. The servers are friendly and chef very personable. The portions are larger than most places so be careful in ordering too much. Indigo is great place to eat before the Opera or when you want to eat upscale on a moderate budget. more

Winning Wine List 9/4/2003

Indigo is a very consistent restaurant that has a well kept secret: a truly fantastic wine list. I really enjoyed the plethora of half bottles, they are fun to share when you want both white and red. The hostess was wuite friendly and the server was sincere. I will be back to visit soon! Pros: wine list, service, decor more

Feeling Blue for Indigo 5/3/2003

Stopped by for the prix fixe dinner with all the wine you can drink. The wine menu is quite extensive and for the prix fixe, you get to choose from about 10 wines. Started off with the mussel appetizer, very spicey with garlic bread. Then moved on to the steak with yukon mashed potatoes and spinach, quite good. Dessert was a creme brulee, flour-less chocolate cake and carrot cake, all decent. Service was solid and the decor was simple but stylish. All-in-all, a good choice for a night out at the theater or for a date. Pros: Location, Wine List more

Refreshingly Awesome 2/20/2003

I have been to Indigo three times and find it to be one of the best values in the city. I am always greeted with a smile by a truly sincere staff that knows their product quite well. The food is flavorful, and priced great! Finally, if you like wine, their list is deep and very 'funny', with quirky wines and lots of side notes. Give it a try on Fri or Sat after 8 pm. more

May Leave You Feeling a Little Blue 10/30/2002

With only a modicum of perfunctory decoration, the starkness of Indigos brightly lit dining room is totally devoid of warmth. This atmosphere, however, is incongruous with the relaxed, California bistro feel conveyed by the menu. With selections from Celery Fennel Bisque and Pumpkin Risotto to Braised Lamb with Potato Gnocchi and Roasted Chicken Breast with Squash Puree, it provides diners with eclectic, but limited, choices. The chef makes excellent use of seasonal ingredients, delivering flavorful, but unimaginative, dishes, and the friendly wait staff lacks polish, but provides adequate service. While the wine list features interesting selections and even includes short descriptions of each wine and brief overviews of each wine type, it offers limited choices by the glass. Situated close to Opera Plaza, Indigo is good, but not quite there. All in all, selecting Indigo over other, superior establishments may leave diners feeling a little blue. Pros: Opera Plaza Location, Intersting Wine List Cons: Stark Decor more
