Yet ANOTHER amazing theater company in the great city of Portland!!!\r Recently saw Imago's production of Harold Pinter's ""The Lover"" and it was BREATH TAKING!! Anne Sorce and Jeffery Gilpin have such great, palpable chemistry on stage, they leave you begging for more. Plus the acute direction of Imago Co-founder Jerry Mouawad, makes you want to ONLY see Pinter's cannon through the marvelous eyes of this wizard.\r Also got to meet Co-founder Carol Triffle at the box office, and she is a gas!! Very polite, VERY friendly, and witty to boot!!\r Overall this theatre company is one of THE MOST friendly and professional performance companies in town!! Can't wait to see there original work ""Frogz""!!\r TWO THUMBS UP!!! more

Hands down this is one of the most innovative theatres in Portland. Most people are familiar with the family shows such as Frogz and BIglittlethings, captivating savvy shows performed in great masks and costumes inducing much laughter and wonder.\r Imago has a lot more to offer though, the adult shows, usually recommended for ages 16 and up, whether original works or adaptations are always ingenious. The sets are great and sometimes a part of the play it self, such as the tilting set of No Exit and the cubist, jocularly angled set of Backs Like That. The light design pleases also, including projections and shadow play. This all creates a sort of world that is all it's very own reality, and at times hyper-reality, that the actors inhabit moving about in mesmerizing choreography that flirts with your smile and laughter here and there.\r Honestly I have always left this theatre smiling, makes for a great date too if you want to impress someone. \r more

Imago is the most amazing theatre company in town. I am always taken aback by their great production values, extreme creativity, and broad spectrum of talent present in all their shows. I've been a huge fan ever since I saw their first production of No Exit back in 98'. I love all their work, especially; Oh, Lost Weekend, House Taken Over, Stage Left Lost, Splat, and most recently The Black Lizard. I really love their Mask Theatre works too, Frogz, Big Little Things, and ZooZoo. If you've never been to their shows, do whatever you can to change that! more

One of my favorite theatres in town! The family shows, Biglittellethings and ZooZoo are delightful and fun fun. Other plays I have seen at Imago have been captivating and intriguing to say the least. Mime, comedy, imaginative sets, great light design and great costuming. I highly recommend this theatre, especially if you have visitors from out of town or just someone from here who has not been to an Imago production before. more

Very disappointed in our last visit 1/6/2012

Very disappointed in our last visit here with our school to see ZooZoo (not the show, the show was awesome!). First, they lost the first check we sent them for the tickets, we had to pay a fee to our bank just for them to magically find it the day before the show. Then, we had a small school will small children and it's very important that we all sit together, we had 4 rows of seating all together assigned to us with our names on the rows when we got there. Another group from a different school took our name down and sat in our seats, we asked them to move, we still had people coming, they wouldn't. When we asked Carol to help us, she became angry and rude. She refused to ask the people to move out of our seats and even yelled in front of the children at us and got into our face. They told us to move people to the balcony so they could sit (a pregnant mother with small children all by herself) and they did not even have room there. Then they asked us to have our kids sit on our laps to make more room from the rest of our school. We paid for 40 tickets and only got 32 seats from it. When I tried to contact them about the situation, they said pretty much ""that's to bad"" They refused to refund the seats we didn't get or the fee we paid to the bank. Needless to say, I don't think we'll go back next year. Which is so sad for the kids. It was a great show. more
