Illinois Energy Windows/siding

\r Over a year ago we had IL Energy come to our house and sell / install two picture windows. Our house was 20 years old and the builders models were fogging up and causing drafts. This week we just changed our entry door; ALL from IL Energy! \r Our sales person was most knowledgeable, giving us the In's and outs of windows and their products. I had purchased windows from the major dealers before, and frankly was disappointed with their product... (even though they were to be the best) \r Our windows are stylish, crystal clear and most importantly WARM! Our heating bill went down approximately $35 per month! Our air conditioning bill went down about $20+ per month. People in the neighborhood have asked us about IL Energy and for a referral.\r Yeah, they cost a bit more and Yeah, you can get windows cheaper.... but my Grandfather used to say... We have been dealing with Illinois Energy for three years now. Since their product is not cheap, spreading out the work with locked-in guaranteed prices for multiple years was the way to proceed. The product, however, justifies the expense. The office people and sales personnel were fair, open and honest. There were no high pressure tactics. All the installation crews were amazing in their friendliness and pure efficiency. Also, Illinois Energy's response to issues has been fantastic. Our requests were small, i.e., sliding door locks that were too tight. Regardless, the response time and treatment were great. Short of a new front door, we are almost complete, but we hope to continue our association with them. Thanks to them for all their work. more

A very nice young man came to my door sharing information and looking to set appointments. I set an appointment and was looking forward to having a rep come to my house to give me a price on work to be done. I was later call by Dennis who later told me the only way a rep would come to my house to give me a bid was if my husband and I were both there. I have put many additions on my house. I have worked with numerous contractors in my jobs and have handled everything from driveways to roofing. My husband does not want to be bothered and he values my confidence in my ability to work with contractors. Illinois Energy would not even come to my house because they would not meet with just the wife. Get out of the dark ages!!!! Women are very capable of making decisions and dealing with contractors. If your only goal was to put the power sale on us to get a job.... I suggest everyone should go with a contractor who is respectful of its clients and understand they are the one writing the check.... You guys lost out on lots of $$$$$ too bad for you. more

Illinois Energy was a great choice for me in remodeling my home. The quality, service, and pricing are very good. My house was built in mid 1960's. The previous owners did a good amount of work on the home. However, I was in need to new patio door as mine was old, aluminum, hard to open and not a standard size. And my 2 car garage doors were not opening, and separated by support beam in between. I had a few estimates from a few local companies. Then a young man knocked on my door from Illinois Energy. He pointed across the street at a window job the company had just installed and the job sign was still in the yeard. I knew my neighbor was very happy with the work. [I don't normally schedule appointments with door to door people, but the young man was very nice, knowledgeable, clean and friendly. And I had seen a lot of the blue Illinois Energy Windows and Siding Job signs around]. The representative who came to my home to explain and price the work was patient, helpful, and very knowlegeable. He explained how everything worked, how they would cut out the support beam in between the 2 garage doors. As a retired person I like the full warranties they have on their products, including 1% installation, and no costs beyond my total. He gave a good price and I went ahead with the work. The next day I was nervous, and started to have reservations. I am very glad I let them do the work!! The crews showed up when they were supposed to. They worked very hard, even in very hot weather. The were courteous, and cleaned up well. The Sliding Patio Door is outstanding!!!! I like how it slides so easily open as I could not open my old door without pulling as hard as I could [which meant I just didn't open the door]. Now I go out on my patio all the time and enjoy the yard. For my garage doors they cut out the support beam in between the 2 doors, and installed 1 new door insulated garage door with windows at the top. . I absolutely love the fact I can now easily drive in to garage with 1 big door instead of just barely fitting in the 2 smaller ones. Since I am very pleased, I am now thinking I will call them to look at my back windows. more

I recently purchased new siding for my home from Illinois Energy. The salesmen made this buying experience very easy. He explained all the different options as far as product, pricing, and warranty. He also had knowledge of other companies warranties. I choose Illinois Energy because they had the best value in their product and warranty than any other company I have seen. I would reccommend Illinois Energy to anyone who is looking to make a smart investment in their home!!!! \r more

About 3 months ago I had a young man knock on my door saying they were giving free estimates on windows. I am always very skeptical of anyone who comes to my door, but the young man was very knowledgeable and was a likable young kid so I agreed to get an estimate. Before they came out I checked the Better Business Bureau record and it was perfect. A 30 something man came out named Nate and was also very professional. He was at our house a long time but he did give some very valuable information about his products and even educated us on what else was available from other companies.. He also showed how much other people sold windows for. There was a huge range of windows prices being about $500-$2000 per window installed. He showed that he was not the cheapest but he was definitely not the most expensive. I liked the sales rep and decided to purchase from Illinois Energy that evening. Afterwards I started to get a little uneasy. I started to feel that this all felt to good to be true. So I decided to get 2 other estimates to make sure Illinois Energy was Competitive. Illinois Energy's price for windows to my home was $23,372. I had Andersen Renewal come out and they were $29,900 and I thought Illinois Energy had a much better product and Warranty. Finally I had Feldco out. They were the cheapest at $16,999. This product seemed to be very inferior to Illinois Energy's Worthington Window. Illinois Energy by far had the best quality an best warranty just like Nate had said. I immediately felt better about my decision and was glad I made the decision to go with Illinois Energy. Approximately 6weeks later we had the windows installed it took 2 days and was very clean, neat, and professional. I was very pleased at the level of cleanliness and how polite the installers were. which by the way spoke English. I want to thank Illinois Energy and its staff for a low stress remodeling job. I recommended them to my brother and he is now doing windows with them. JOB WELL DONE... Thank you, Mr. Luman more

When we moved into our new house, our 4 year old daughter couldn't wait to move into her new bedroom. It had a cozy sitting area with a great big window that let in a lot of light. It was very cute. Unfortunately, as soon as the weather changed the room became very cold. The window was leaking and the room was too drafty to have her sleep in. We realized our windows were just not very good. We considered several options and I did lots of research but windows seems so expensive after buying a new house. That is when we talked to Illinois Energy Windows and Siding. I wish we would have talked to them first because it would have saved me a bunch of time and effort researching . They did a great job explaining our options. There information was accurate and there prices were good for the quality windows we wanted. We decided to use them to replace most of the windows in our house because their windows were great. . The windows made a huge difference because we can use our whole house again! Our daughter's room is no longer drafty, the windows are easy to clean. They are a great company I highly recommend them. more

We had Illinois Energy replace all of our windows on our house. The difference is incredible. Before the rooms were cold & draffy, but now we are nice and warm in winter. Our neighbors were so impressed with our casement and awning windows, that they bought new windows too. We would highly recommend Illinois Energy Windows & Siding for their great quality products, installers and service. The whole team was very customer focused and did a great job. more

VERY agressive rep who wants a commitment NOW. Quite a large expenditure to not shop, compare and plan on. If you let them in, do your homework first....they are very ready to negotiate. more

On Monday February 14th I had an estimate to replace old siding with the new insulated Cedar Ridge siding from Illinois Energy Windows & Siding, Inc. \r Nathan Sanchez the Advertising Director came on time and AFTER A PAINFULL 55 MINUTES OF COMPANY PRESENTATION (he was talking and talking on and on) he went outside to do the measurements. Finally we had 7 minutes of quiet time so we can think about.\r Back into the business we had to listen for another 35 minutes about the company and about the satisfied customers. And the surprise came, the estimate, the price for the new siding: \r $ 33138.00 for a insulated vinyl siding \r $ 28698.00 for a regular non insulated vinyl siding\r The approximate measurements of the house were 30 squares yards.\r Of course this was not the only one estimate. The next highest estimate using the same materials from the same supplier, Cedar Ridge, were \r $ 15250.00 for a insulated vinyl siding\r $ 8200.00 for a non insulated vinyl siding\r Home owners out there looking for remodeling watch out for high prices comp. like\r ILLINOIS ENERGY WINDOWS AND SIDING Inc. do your home work and keep looking for the right price, have 4,5,6,7 estimates before sign any contract. There are decent small companies out there who will do the same job maybe even a better job than million dollars company like Illinois Energy Inc.\r Thanks\r Dan\r more

We ordered a patio door back in May 2007... still to date (November 2, 2007), they still have not fully installed our door. We have called customer service, and gotten no results and no answers. more
