Poor communication and even worse service 5/11/2010

After going to this store for 12 years and Having Perry work on my Vacuum equipment, I will not be going back. I dropped off my machine 3 weeks ago for anon-working power head, and a tune-up (estimate written for $49 for tuneup plus parts)was told Perry had left and was in Nampa in his own store. Still since I had received great service in the past I left my unit and was told to pick it up in a week. No phone call, so went in. Told the hose was bad, and needed replaced, asked about the no phone call and was told "yeah I should have called but...." Then said he would source a hose and if he had trouble or couldn't find one he would call. 2 weeks later I go to pick it up( still no interim call) and they had done nothing to my machine. It sat there for 3 weeks with zero communication from the staff or mgt. Said they had not yet found a source for the hose. ( I found one on EBAY for $80) . Then the young man said well I can have the tune up done for you by late this afternoon. Really? afte more

Where's Perry 4/17/2010

Well, after going to Idaho Sew and Vac for years to get my vacuum fixed and get parts for it (unfortunately the FilterQueen), I just found out that "Perry" left. He was the greatest guy, and nice. I don't sew or use anything else in the store, but Perry's expertise, excellent customer service and a fair business man. I will miss him greatly. They say he opened his own business in Nampa called Abbott's. Can't find it or him anywhere. Can anyone help find Perry????? more

I guess it depends on your view 2/15/2009

I've read the reviews and I'd say that how you feel about this store depends on each experience. I've noticed a change since I first went to this store but it still doesn't explain why after I was asked to teach and submitted lesson plans they stole my plans word for word and started teaching the classes. I do like their selection but it's not my first stop and I don't go out of my way to shop from them. I'm really angry that I wasn't offered an explanation and that they are teaching from my hard work without any acknowlegement of who actually wrote the material. Not that much has changed from 2005. The new owners are just sneaker about it. more

Great service and great products 12/17/2008

I have spent thousands of dollars and this store and feel I have received great attention, teaching, helpful tricks and much more. I love Stewart & Stephanie and all of their staff are wonderful as well. Can highly recommend this place. They keep helping long after your check was written! more

Great Store 12/20/2007

I love this store. The people who work there are very helpful and are always ready to help you. Stewart is always very willing to answers questions and help you if you have a problem. In the past there were some issues with some of the staff but Stewart has been working very hard to change this. He wants his customers to be happy and enjoy coming into the store. So if you have had a bad experience in the past I would urge you go in and see the changes. more

Idaho Sew & Vac 11/9/2007

Hmm...reading the past reviews, I would encourage you to visit before determining a rank for this business. You see, since 2005 there is a new owner. Stuart and his wife are customer service oriented. The shop expanded and now includes fabrics plus sewing classes. BabyLock and Pfaff two brands found here. Many vacuums brands of assorted shapes and sizes reside under the flat store roof. more

Good selection 11/6/2005

My mom and I have literally spent thousands of dollars at this store and still deal with snotty customer service. I just don't get that. Their customer service needs some work. Otherwise, for Babyloc machines, a good option. I also bought my Miele vacuum cleaner there and have had okay help/service with that. Just not my favorite group of people running a store with brands that I happen to like. Oh, just wanted to add that they carry thread, notions, and a selection of quiliting fabric and embroidery software. more
