Pretty good. 7/30/2006

I just went to a conference here at this hotel. The setup is a bit weird - our conference was at one end of the hotel and then another, and it is really spread out. The hotel itself is nice looking -- different low rise buildings surrounding a pool, gazebo and spa. I don't really understand the birds in the lobby, however ... I don't know how the food was catered but I assume it was made in the hotel and it was pretty bad. We had fried chicken and hamburgers while we were there. The brownies were great, though ... Also, the parking situation was horrible. It is comprised of one way streets and was really hard to navigate if you wanted to drive from one end of the hotel to another (which was suggested by an employee, actually). The hotel is right off 101, so it would be pretty loud if you were facing it. more

Noisy and terrible if crowded 5/20/2006

There might be some good rooms here, but I got in late and got shuffled off into one of the adjoining wings. This thing looks like ten hotels were acquired and then put together. The rooms around the pool area look nice, but beware that if it is full, you get put into what looks like my graduate school apartment. Except they charged $250 a night instead of $500 per month. Also, it is incredibly, incredibly loud there since it is at the triangle of the 101 and three other major thoroughfares not to mention the airport itself. Avoid it if you can, but at least it is convenient. more

nice gardens 6/26/2005

This Hyatt is pretty low key. Although its in downtown San Jose near the airport, it doesn't look like your typical highrise hotel. In fact, it's the opposite. It is sprawled out in all one level with the buildings separated from one to four. There are walkway paths and gardens in the middle of the outdoor patio area, not to mention a nice gazebo for ceremonies and a pool and jacuzzi area to the side. The rec room is used for family get togethers and business meetings. Last time it was pretty loud because there was a reunion going on. The room itsellf is not spectacular, it was modest with a small bathroom and sliding door. A coffee maker and snack area is set up right next to the bathroom. I was disturbed by that. more
