I left hungry for another trip back 7/17/2010

I had some old friends come in from out of town this weekend and wanted to take them some place good to eat. My aunt, who is very knowledgeable about such things, recommended Hungry's. I'm glad she did! Everything was just about perfect. Loved the restaurant and the employees! Even the waitress in training was excellent. There are a lot of interesting items on the menu and had a hard time picking just one. Since they only serve brunch on the weekend for a few hours I went ahead and picked the Eggs Florentine. Their Eggs Florentine was two poached eggs on top of chiabata bread covered with spinach sauce and pico on the eggs. It came with a side of roasted potatoes (a mix of potatoes and sweet potatoes) and fresh fruit. I added an order of Applewood sausage which was really good. The fruit was sweet and the eggs and spinach tasted perfect together. The pico was fresh and added a good crunch to each bite. Really I only have two problems. One, on the first try my eggs were cold. Not room temp but almost chilly towards the center. However, the waiter quickly resolved the issue and I was pleased. Two, the latte I ordered...it just wasn't up to par in either taste or presentation. I was very disappointed because that would have been the icing on the cake and one more star. All in all my experience here was a really satisfying one and I am already planning my trip back. Pros: Great menu items, and dessert selection Cons: Espresso more

What happened to my Hungry's?! 11/4/2009

I used to go to Hungry's a lot before the moved closer to Dairy Ashford - the food was perfect everytime, the service outstanding, etc. Pros: Great food, decent prices Cons: Questionable service more

overpriced, food was awful! 7/14/2008

After reading the reviews on this site I went here with high expectations, and I was extremely disappointed. I love the Hungry's Rice Village location and recommend that you visit that one - though the prices may be about the same, the food most definitely is not. This location had decent service, but they served me food that was spoiled. I say it is overpriced because the food was almost inedible, and I think paying anything (let alone $15) for a meal that I can barely digest constitutes being overcharged. more

If you want to stay hungry, eat at Hungry's 3/10/2008

We read the reviews on this site, (mainly positive) and decided to give it a try for Sunday Brunch. We were not happy. The mimosas are 6 dollars and have almost no champagne in them (yes, that's 6 bucks for a glass of juice) and our food was just not worth the trip. My husband's burrito was tasty but SMALL. Everything on the plate was small (fruit, black beans, burrito). We paid 5.95 for an adult waffle for my son and it was tiny with a little bit of a sliced banana and a couple of strawberry pieces and overcooked to the point of being dry and crunchy. We added bacon for another two dollars (now we're up to 7.95 for a waffle and some bacon) and it was GREASY and way overcooked. When I asked for some that was not too done it came out quite quickly but that was because they had deep fried it in the fryer - terrible texture and dripping in grease.....(I know bacon is greasy, this went waaaaaay beyond acceptable - I had to sop it with my napkin). My eggs benedict were cold (ice cold), one of the poached eggs was still raw on the egg white, the potatos were still crunchy from not being cooked enough and they were cold (entire plate was cold). My husband said his food was cold (something that is not a big deal to him) but by comparison it was way hotter than mine. We were trying to locate our waitress at this point but she was busy sitting at another table rolling silver and talking to other servers. My husband let me have a few bites of his food (I really didn't want to try anything else) and then we went to our local Carrabba's by our house to have a real lunch. Never a bad time there. Here's the thing, we are not that picky. All I want is fully cooked, hot food with a waiter. I work in this business and eat in bars and 5 star restaurants - wherever the food is good, sometimes sacrificing good service for good food. I just have to tell you, this place has neither. Pros: Easy to get in...... Cons: Everything else more

Great First Impressions Means Great Success! 6/15/2007

I enjoy having my business meetings in restaurants over a stuffy office any day. The casual atmosphere, great food and excellent service makes it more of a social event than business. First impressions are the most important and I have found that when meeting a prospective client for the first time, a good environment does make a difference. Thanks Hungry's! Pros: Free Valet Parking, Great Food and Atmosphere, Excellent Service more

Great Wedge Salad 2/23/2007

Love the wedge salad, love the gyros, love the happy hour wine prices. Portions can be on the small side for my taste, but I think the service in Memorial is usually a little bit better than the West U location. Pros: Food Cons: Nothing special about the ambience. more

Best everything! 9/11/2006

Hungry's is someplace for almost every occasion. Take the kids, the spaghetti is awesome; take your mom, she'll be impressed with their raspberry lemonade; take your date to share the cheesecake! Pros: healthy food, service, price more

So yummy, and something for everybody 10/9/2005

Hungry's has something for everyone, from healthy vegetarian meals to gyros and cheeseburgers with fries. The wedge salad with jalapeño feta dressing is so good I could eat it every day. Everything I have ever eaten at Hungry's has been great. The only drawback is that it can be packed at lunch. Pros: delicious food, healthy food, inexpensive Cons: very crowded at lunch, service can be slow more

Lots of yummy healthy food options 8/19/2005

Most restaurants have a few items on their menu for heart healthy choices. Half of Hungry's menu has healthy choices. It's so nice to have so many choices and they taste great too. So they don't sacrifice flavor. We had pretty bad service, but it's a pretty casual place. So you have to call your waiter over if you want something. For example if you want more water, because they never automatically refilled the water. Pros: Healthy food choices!, Casual diner, Fresh produce Cons: Service notimpressive more

horrible service 6/23/2005

We have used this restaurant a few times to deliver food to work. The few times that we have used them, they were late or forgot food which was clearly on the reciept. I just spoke with the manager today to resolve an issue of a forgotten order a few weeks ago. We were going to try them once again today to see if they could get anything right. Not only were they rude, but they decided that they would not be delivering to us unless we placed $150-$200 order. I do not know about you but, for lunch it is rare that our office will spend that much money combined on food. What I do not understand is that if they have delivered here twice, what is the problem with delivering here again? The manager was acting as if he was superior to the service I was asking for. Pros: gyros are good Cons: service is horrible, manager sucks more

Excellent gyro 8/26/2002

I have been consistently pleased with their gyros. Great bargain! The service and ambience are nice. more
