Always Good 9/8/2011

If you go to Houston's on a weekend night, there is no doubt you will have to wait, but it is well worth it. The food is always good and I have not had one bad experience. I always recommend Houston's when I go out with friends or family from out of town. You can't go wrong with this location or any other. more

Service Wasn't The Best 3/15/2011

Well my fiance, parents and I tried this location this past weekend. Only my fiance had gone, so he was singing its praises. I even looked up the reviews and was pleased at what I found. Who we thought was our server, was smiling and attentive, but she was just helping out her fellow server. The true server seemed lackluster at best. I mean for the money spent, could have seen a little more friendliness/good customer service. She was like this the entire evening and did not fill our glasses. There was something wrong with one of orders, which management obliged. I just wished we had a different server, sort of killed the whole experience ( my first time). I will give this chain another shot, but check out the other locations to see if I can get better service. Least the food was good. more

Date night wa great 1/30/2011

Last night my wife and I had dinner there as part of our once a month date night. I have to say the Hawaiin Steak was the best I ever tasted. The service was also great too. Well worth the 1 hour wait. Kudos !! more

So-so in Buckhead 12/12/2010

My husband and I visited Houston's after a symphony performance last night and found OK setting, food, and service - totally overpriced for what it is. $34 for an ordinary piece of baked fish w/ veggies on the side - and you pay $7 extra for a side salad? $39 for steak and potato, add'l for salad? $17 for a flabby-noodle, overdressed, overseasoned, everything-but-the-kitchen-sink Thai salad? They even tried to charge us $4 for bread, till we protested and got an adjustment on the bill. No thanks. We won't be eating here again any time soon. more

Loved it 10/14/2008

This is my 2nd time at Houston's. The last time I ordered the Bass while my date ordered the steak and I swore I'd order the prime rib next time. It was absolutely DELICIOUS. We both ordered the prime rib and it was so delicious I don't think I've had a better steak. Server (Simone) was very professional and took good care of us. Ambience was perfect - dark, cozy, romantic. The side salad and green beans were ok. My date thought the green beans were too hard. I had half a steak left and boxed it to take home and it was still DELICIOUS. I'm craving it now. I am now a Houston's steak fan. It was perfectly cooked. PERFECT. The Au jus was awesome. sigh... This has to be my most favorite resturaunt in the city. The service is amazing and the food is wonderful. I have had my waiter run my food out in the pouring rain b/c I left it on the table. I highly recommend the ribs and key lime pie, they are top notch. Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Service more

Best Steak I ever had!! 3/4/2008

I heard so much about Houston's but could never find anyone willing to go. Finally, my birthday rolled around and this was my opportunity, so I suggested Houston's. I said to my self let me see what all the talk is about. WOW!!!! The Hawaiian Steak was juicy, tender and melted in my mouth. I was not a big salad eater but if it came with the meal I would eat one. The salad we ordered was like no other. It was creative, it had favor and most of all it was FRESH. Thank GOD I don't live near by I'd pick Houston's over shoe shopping. The Crabcakes ROCK 3/3/2008

Pick a location, any will do...Houston's is the bomb! It is gentiel without being snobby, it is casual without being a noisy din. Always predicatble, always dependable. You can't go wrong with Houston's. We love the spinach dip, the smoked salmon, the crabcakes, the potato soup and the fried chicken salads. A ""ladieswholunch"" favorite! Pros: So Good! Cons: If we must - don't take a large group they don't have the seating. Keep it under 6. more

Food OK but who cares, the ambience is great!!!! 1/20/2008

Been numerous times to the one on Peachtree (only one I've ever been to) and have always enjoyed myself. The food is average but the ambience is fantastic. Even in the daylight it feels cozy and yet open and airy at the same time. In the evening this place is about as romantic as it gets. Cozy, warm with a good live jazz trio playing to boot!!! Tonight I could have stayed forever!!! The service is excellent, drinks good, ambience superb. So why only a three star? 'Cause the food is just good. It's good for sure but not outstanding. Can't hurt yourself there but you're not going to walk out raving about what a great meal you had. Make the food a little more exciting, change up the menu a bit more often and you've got me for life. In the meantime, I'll just go with that someone special and have drinks by candlelight, listen to jazz and eat a good meal. Pros: The coziest and most inviting restaurant I've ever been to Cons: Food is good, nothing to be ashamed of, just not great! more

Great Romantic Dinner Spot 11/27/2007

I love the Hawian Ribeye at Houstons - it taste like pineapple and melts in your mouth. The service is always excellent and the atmosphere is so relaxing with the dim lights and candles. This restaurant is perfect for any special occasion - it will never let you down!! more

The food is consistently good, especially the Smoked Salmon and Filet. If you sit at the bar like I do, you'll notice that there are quite a few regulars. The bartenders are friendly and they know many of the guests by name. more

Good Food, Drinks and Atmosphere but Pricey for a Chain! 11/6/2007

A few years ago we would frequent Houston's but the last few times we have been in the prices are pushing us away. The food and drinks are EXCEPTIONAL but the prices are forcing Houston's into the RARE OCASION venue. We love the Flet and the Baby Back Ribs but always leave room for the Walnut Apple Pie. Good food, fair service and a GREAT ATMOSPHERE..... I will miss the frequency but will always be a fan! It is our choice for a treat. Birthdays, clients, spur of the moment Sunday lunches...if you want excellent food in a beautiful environment, this restaurant is it. House salad is the best. Soups are good ( so many places haev lousy soup). And it is a super place to get a burger. Well-mannered staff make a difference, too. more

JUST PERFECT! 11/1/2007

Every time I go to Houston's everything is perfect. I know it is a hard damn job to do perfect and they are consistently perfect. I asked my wife today after perfect lunch: ""why are we not eating at Houston's every time we eat out?"" Thank you so much for setting standards so high and hopefully other restaurateurs will learn from you Houston's! I believe the secret is that Houston's is not over growing as today's so called restaurant icons are popping up every other month which makes me sick in my stomach. Houston'r Restaurant on P'tree Rd. Not the greatest parking after 7pm 9/25/2007

It was great being there for the short time being delayed by the plane to D.C. The food was quite tasty & the servers were prompt & most informative since it was a first time for my grandaughter vising in the area before going back to school in Tenn. The only drawback was a few of the items on the menu were not available, so we had to spend extra time making other selections & were hoping we would make it back to the airport on time (which we did). we would love to visit again. Pros: A very nice experience Cons: Parking could be better more
