This casino is always very crowded and I think thats because it still has $5 tables. The temp it the casino varies greatly depending on where you are located. Very annoying.. The wrecking ball should soon put the IP out of its misery Pros: $5 slots Cons: Everything else more

It's cheap after all 11/11/2006

I wasn't expecting too too much from these guys, but they are ok to stay at if you're looking to be on the strip old school style. I stayed with some of my friends. The room was average, but the rest of the casino and lobby area are a little dumpy. The real problem is the valet area and taxi pick up. It's actually a drop down from street level and if it rains it gets a little flooded and it's hard for vehicles to get out onto LV blvd from there. I would stay there again only if I couldn't find rooms anywhere else. Cons: Driveway ugh! more

Great Cheap Hotel 11/3/2006

IP is a great place to stay at the strip if you're there to gamble. The rooms are comfortable, and the location is great. It is right next to O'sheas, a Vegas favorite, and the Caesar's food court (the best fast food on the strip) is across the street. Great location, strange classic IP smell 10/30/2006

The major thing that the IP has going for it is LOCATION. You are right on the strip, fairly central, and for a usually good price. Most of the staff seem nice. There is also pretty good cheap gaming. The nickel slots seem to win more often than not. And a novelty hot sake bar. Unfortunetly, the drawbacks tend to outweigh this. First, NO TAXI's. If you are staying at the IP, plan to walk everywhere, or walk across the street to Ceaser's or TI to actually get a cab. Not many of the drivers like to traverse back to the IP pick up area. Probably due to lack of tips from the clientele. 2nd, the wait to check in- huge. just huge. We have stayed here a couple of times, and there is always a line. The 3rd, the lack of elevators. The line for an elevator is nearly as long as the line to check in. The 4th. Only 1 set of restrooms on the casino floor. And the 5th is a bit strange...the classic IP smell. I can't quite put my finger on what exactly that smell is...but it is there. ALWAYS. You could blindfold me and I would know the minute I stepped into the IP. Overall, it truly isn't a bad place to stay if you want to be on the strip and need nothing more than a place to lay your head at night. Pros: Location Location Location Cons: No Taxi service, long elevator lines more

what do you expect?! 9/1/2004

So it is not the most luxurious place in Vegas, but it is in the BEST location for the money, right in the middle of THE STRIP! The Non-Smoking rooms were smoky smelling, but it is one of the older hotels on the strip so what do you expect . Remember, when it first opened nonsmoking was probably not an option. Anyway, what person spends that much time in their hotel room in Vegas?! I would definitely recommend IP to anyone doing Vegas on a budget. I als would stay at the Imeprial Palace again. Pros: cheap, location Cons: , smoky more

staying here is about compromises 4/12/2004

Great location in middle of Strip, right price (room, spa, food), helpful staff, friendly casino dealers, clean room, classic auto show, goofy impersonator dealers. That's the good. Smokey casino air, uncomfortable old beds, small spa facilities, subpar buffet, slow elevators, weird layout of hotel amenities with confusing hotel map, loud outdoor band music from Harrah's heard through 9th floor north facing balcony door, loud air conditioner, falling apart furniture, and overall 2nd rate hotel experience. That's what you're compromising on. I've stayed twice, knowing it would be 2nd rate, but not sure I'll do it again. Pros: Location, Price, Friendly staff Cons: , uncomfortable beds more

mr primo 2/28/2004

for a gambler that likes to be comped this is your place. i have been staying at the ip for 4 years now and i never pay for anything, i mean nothing. on new years eve they put me and my wife in the penthouse suite, my avg bet at the bj tables is $50-$100, and iam treated like a high roller. the service is second to none. this place is like home to me, granted its a dump but its my dump.. the location is perfect, and the food at embers is just as good as delmonicos. more

Horrid is the only word 2/10/2004

to describe this hotel. The casinio was ok. It was old and ratty, but ok. The hotel was HORRID!!! I wish we had stayed in Motel 6 that would have been better. Our non-smoking room reeked of smoke. Our room hadn't been remodeled in my lifetime. The wallpaper was peeling. There were holes in the walls. It was beyond bad. The only good thing I can say was that it was on the strip. It WAS that bad. (this is the hotel whose parking lot flooded!) Pros: on the strip Cons: , hike to your room, hike to your car more

Rude and inconsiderate staff 2/9/2004

Many vegas hotels don't allow Sat arrivals, but if you're staying more than just the saturday night, they allow it. I emailed the Imperial Palace and they refused a Sat arrival, even though I was planning to stay for 4 days. I replied back, requesting that a Manager read my request. I never heard back. I've heard many bad things about the IP, and apparently, it's all true. Stay away! Pros: Nothing good Cons: , Unresponsive Mgmt, No Sat Arrivals more
