Editorial review from Citysearch 7/13/2012

My wife and I just purchased a new VW Beetle from Hiley VW in Arlington, TX. From start to finish the entire process went great! Ken was great to work with. He took the time to go over everything about the vehicle, answer any questions, never made us feel rushed or uncomfortable. He worked with the appraisers and got us top dollar for our trade in. Also the transition over to talk with the financing department went very smooth and was very no-pressure. The dealership had actually closed for the day but they were all very willing to stay until everything was done and all of our questions answered. In this day and age this excellent level of customer service is becoming harder and harder to find, so I highly recommend Hiley VW and especially Ken Erwin for all of your future automobile needs!! more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE 11/21/2011

I am totally disappointed in my experience at Hiley Mazda. I bought a truck there last week and well, first of all, I drove it home and then realized that I had no paper dealer plates on the truck. So I kept my rental truck for another day and left the truck I just bought at home. The next day I went back and picked up the paper dealer plates and put them on my truck so I could drive it to work the next day. I drove the truck to work and when I left for lunch it started dropping all the coolant. Since I had barely put 20 miles on the truck I called Hiley Mazda and asked what they wanted me to do with it, figuring they would at least want to look at it and help me with the repair costs. No such luck. They told me that I bought a truck as is and they can more

No such luck. They told me that I bought a truck as is and they can’t do anything about because “I bought the truck for less than the internet price.” I was also told by the Sales Manager Jason Husfeld that “had I paid full price for the truck he would’ve put it in service and taken care of all the repair costs,” but since I got a few hundred knock off the price there’s nothing he will do. To me the question isn’t what I paid for the vehicle but if they are going to stand behind the vehicle they sold me. Which they OBVIOUSLY DON’T at Hiley Mazda in Arlington. The most infuriating thing about this whole experience is that I went to Hiley because they came so highly recommended to me by multiple friends of mine, I did a little research online and they had good reviews, and their “Family Promise” sounds good, so I figured I would be safe buying there. I have been calling up there and talking to different managers about this situation and I have been told every time that they would call me back within the hour and I have not received a call back once!! I have got nothing but the run around from them. So now I have to pay to fix the truck myself because I haven’t had a vehicle to get me back and forth to work for a week now and I can’t keep bumming rides. TOTALLY 100% DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS DEALERSHIP!!!! I will NEVER buy another vehicle here and I will recommend that none of my friends do either. more

Overall great experience. This is a GREAT dealership. 10/13/2011

I wasn't even sure I could buy a car because of bumps and bruises on my credit due to a job loss five years ago. The staff at Hiley Mazda didn't let that deter them. They worked so hard to help me find the right car (and with the features I wanted!), at the right price. They worked so hard to get me the best interest rate possible t make the payments as low as possible. I have to say I was amazed and the financing they were able to work out. Throughout the process, every person I dealt with kept me informed and they were always truthful and upfront with me about things I couldd and could not do. Everyone from the sales staff to the finance team earned my respect and you can bet I will be a repeat customer. They were not pushy at all and as a result, I drove home with a very nice Mazda 3 Touring Car! Thank you Hiley Mazda. You guys are tops! more

Deceptive and Sadly Typical 6/12/2011

Hiley VW is your typical car dealership, interested in churning people in and out, purely sales oriented. I couldn't tell you how many times the sales person, Ken Erwin, asked me the same questions over and over; yet still managed to get things wrong. I could go on and on about the experience I had with Hiley but just imagine that typical smiling car sales man that has everything going in one ear and out the other and you'll have a spot on idea of what Hiley is like. Too bad though 'cause I live right near their new GMC dealership and would have taken my Sierra there for it's service, but I'll be going to Moritz for that now. Autobahn in Fort Worth is a much friendlier VW dealer, straight forward and none of the old worn out car sales man tricks. more

Bad Service can't diagnose problems. 1/9/2011

I have a 2007 EOS that drains the battery. The dealership, Hiley Volkswagen, cannot diagnose why this is happening. Took it twice, they kept it 3 weeks. They said they worked with HQ tech support. No help there. Took it home on Saturday, car is dead again the next day. The battery is ruined from being drained so many times. This is the 3rd battery in the car. I know it will probably not hold a charge any more. I offered to buy a VW battery if they would guaranty to replace it when it gets ruined. They said all they could offer was the standard warranty. I'm sure they are hoping I go away, but going to call them on Monday. This is the dealership where I bought the car. Don't buy a VW and don't go Randy Hiley. \r \r Understand that electrical issues are hard to diagnose, but when the car dies in the dealership, one would think they could figure it out. National Customer Service is equally useless. All they do is call the dealership and tell you exactly the same thing the service writer and/or manger just told you. They are no help in resolving any issue, they actually suggested I take it to a different dealership and also referred me to researching the Texas Lemon laws\r \r Making it my mission to post on as many web sites and to file complaints about VW and this dealership.\r more

Best prices, most professional, no hassle. 5/30/2008

First I went to a Mazda store in McKinney, where they flat-out lied about what they would sell me a car for over the phone... drove all the way there, and they said 'oh, that's plus the window-tint, pinstripe, blahblahblah'... went to a Mazda store in Denton, SAME EXACT THING!!! I went to Fort Worth and Mesquite (yes, I drove everywhere) because I had a specific car I wanted. The folks at those stores just didn't want to help me. I told them my credit wasn't great, and they ignored me. I finally called Hiley in Arlington, and they promised they wouldn't play those games. I didn't believe them, but they actually didn't play games! They even got me approved at the lowest interest rates because my credit really wasn't that bad. They treated me with nothing but respect the whole time, and we completed the whole transaction in about an hour. The owner's son greeted me, and actually sat & talked with us for 15-20 minutes. He was very nice and knowledgeable, and he personally brought us all soft-drinks & gave us his card with his direct line. \r \r I have never had a better experience buying anything, much less a car, and I will never shop anywhere else but Hiley in Arlington. \r \r Thanks, Guys! Pros: They are awesome! more

EXCELLENT! 3/20/2007

Wow. I had a totally different experience at Hiley Mazda in Arlington. The sales staff was very professional and knowledgable. No one has EVER presented a vehicle that way for me and took as much time. Harold, the internet manager, didn't pressure me at all. I also met the owner's kid, who manages the store. He sat and talked with us for a long time, and was very nice and professional. He even negotiated the deal for us. I thought that was great. I get my service work done there, and I've always had a great experience. Maybe the other folks caught them on a bad day. I definitely recommend them. Pros: knew the product, no pressure more

Avoid at all costs 3/5/2007

Seriously the worst sales and service experience imaginable...Hiley Arlington made we wait around for 5 hours trying to buy a CX-7. Finally talked to the owner's kid who claimed to be the GM. What a joke. Then, Hiley tried to pawn off a demo on me, one with hundreds of miles and scratches and rock chips. Hiley Arlington should be avoided...period. Cons: Lousy experience...typical poor car dealer more
