Hickory Creek Kennels

Not sure what the gentleman was complaining about prior to this review. But, we have been using Hickory Creek Kennel for the last 8 years and couldn't be more pleased and never had a bad experience. The facilities are clean, the prices are clearly marked and Bob goes out of his way to make sure not only your dog is secure but you leave knowing good care will be provided. He is happy to provide you with a tour of his kennel prior to boarding your dog.Our lab is a diabetic and is partially blind, Bob and his wife make sure our dog is properly medicated and well attended too.\r Prior to using Hickory Creek we have boarded at other kennels and there is no comparison to the care, cleanliness and attentiveness to our dog. I will and continue to recommend Hickory Creek Kennels. more

This place was a disaster! The old man was drunk, charged at me after doubling the price when I got back in town to get my dog. I called him out on his math and wigged out in a drunken rage. He poured out half of my food in a fit of rage and tried to threaten me up close and personal. He doesn't tell you that he wants $6 for every time he ""walked"" the dog while you were gone. These other ratings are clearly fake and these people didn't write any of these. He cursed at me all the way out and told me to not come back because it was during the Steeler game. Hillbilly all the way around. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS!!! This site with all of the ratings are false! Save yourself the trouble and outrageous amount of money! more

First Class all around! I don't usually write reviews but felt so compelled because of the continued great experiences we have at Hickory Creek Kennels. We recently had to travel for a couple of weeks and boarded our 7 month old German Shorthair Pointer Maggie with Bob, just as we had done with our late Cocker Spaniel over many years. As always everything was immaculate and professional, with fantastic facilities. Even so, we were obviously a little anxious as it was our new pup's first boarding experience, especially at such an impressionable age....which leads me to the reason I write this review. When we picked up Maggie after our trip, she was 100% the way she was when we dropped her off....happy, excited, healthy, and as lively as ever. German Shorthairs need lots of exercise so as part of the boarding Bob had ensured she got plenty, including a daily walk in the woods (as well as giving her the scheduled flea and tick treatments!) I think she may have had it a bit better than at home actually !!!\r \r So besides the great location and heavenly environment for a dog, Bob runs a first class kennel with his genuine care and love for animals represented in every detail. Thanks Bob and as always we will recommend Hickory Creek Kennels to anyone who asks us which is the best kennel around !! more

A Phenomenal Kennel. Our two dogs love Bob and his kennel. EJ and Lilly (literally) cry with excitement as we drive up the beautiful, scenic driveway to the very clean and well kept kennel grounds. Bob is very caring and takes special care of our dogs; always welcoming them by name and catering to their unique personalities and needs. EJ and Lilly, as well as our parents two dachshunds, are very well treated. My wife and I are as happy with our dogs' care as EJ and Lilly are when they arrive. We have great peace of mind to know they are well taken care of while we are away. \r \r We give Hickory Creek a very big thumbs up and highly recommend them for all your kenneling needs. more

Hickory Creek Kennels is a great place and I have been using this kennel for my beagle and puggle for some time. The facilities are clean, the people are great with the dogs, and the dogs always come home happy. They offer walks for the dogs and other services as well. I could not recommend more highly. The owners are really great with the dogs. more

Barney, Sam and Elmer enjoy their stay with Bob. Its important to know that my pets are being taken care of while I travel for my job. The facility is always clean and thats not an easy task when caring for several dogs at once! After using Hickory Creek Kennels on a regular basis, you can tell that Bob works very hard and is attentive to our pets needs. THANK YOU BOB! more

We have been using Hickory Creek for about 2 years now for our 2 dachshunds. The dogs actually seem to like it there. The facility is clean. The service has been great. In fact, Bob has gone out of his way to help us out in a pinch with unexpected stays and drop-offs. Would recommend it highly. Hickory Creek lets us have a good time on vacation, knowing the dogs are being well cared for. more

Mr. Bob is great to my dogs Harry, George and Tag. The kennel is fantastic. I have come a different times of the day and it always smells clean - I mean like just cleaned your flours clean. The kennel has heated floors for the dogs comfort and is air conditioned in the summer. My black Lab, Tag is kind of special needs because he has three legs and Mr. Bob does a great job with him. I really trust them with our dogs. They will also feed them as you request and you don't have to provide the dog food which we usually forget anyway. I have told several of my friends about Hickory Creek Kennel but thought I would review them here too. If you need a place to board your dogs, I highly recommend them. more

Hickory Creek came recommended to us two years ago from both a good friend and a groomer, both of whom used Hickory Creek for their performance dogs. We have been taking our border collie there for two years and now that we have two dogs, they both go there. We absolutely love the care and attention they get. The facility is fantastic...you can't beat the A/C and the heated floor as well as the wooded scenery. It's clear Bob loves what he does and the dogs love to see him. We have since recommended him to others who have had extremely positive experiences too. That's important to us as our dogs are not pets...they are part of our family. more

Hickory Creek Kennel is the BEST kennel in town. The facility is clean & spotless; the property is quiet and beautiful and it is located in a wooded area away from traffic. I have been taking my belgian malinois there for several years and she just LOVES Bob. She loves going for walks there; she also loves the personal attention and great care she receives from Bob and his staff. She brings her own bedding, food, and toys; however, Bob does supply bedding and food if needed. She is always clean, happy, and stress free when I pick her up after her stay. He really meets the needs of all dogs in his care such as dietary or medical needs. I was referred to Bob by good friends and I always refer Hickory Creek to my friends because I trust Bob and I believe all the dogs in his care receive top notch care. more

We just picked up our two Weimaraners from Hickory Creek Kennels. Our two ""girls"" love this place. They love the daily walks and the personal attention from Bob. They can bring their favorite bone or toy and their pad. You can even bring their own food!! They always look and smell great when we pick them up and we are finally able to take some stress free vacations without the fear that the ""girls"" are not being taken care of. more

If you are looking for a wonderful, quiet kennel to take care of your four-legged family member when you are away, this is the place for you. My husband and I have been taking our dogs there for many years and have without exception always been pleased with the care and attention Bob Klein gives our dogs. The kennels are immaculate and Bob makes their stay as stress-free as possible. He has a kind, calm sense about him that the dogs respond to. Our two German Shephard Dogs are comfortable going there and we are secure knowing that they are in excellent hands when we are away. We recommend his kennel without reservation. This is a place you can board your dog with the knowledge they will be safe and well cared for. more

Leaving your pets at home when you go away is so stressful. We no longer have that stress. We have been taking our two yellow labs to Hickory Creek Kennels in the care of Bob Klein and we can relax. He has taken such great care of our dogs that we wouldn't go any where else. I would highly recommend this kennel and have recommended it to others! Well..... for the past numerous years I have, or lets be clear my 2 dogs have had the priviledge of being at their second home..Bob has been a great caretaker ...it is clean, it is a safe haven for my dogs..With that said vacation is always a worry free time..,for myself and my family... more

I have been using Hickory Creek Kennels for many years, I have never had a problem. I can really relax and enjoy my vacation when I know that my dogs are well taken care of. The kennel has a quiet wooded location and my three dogs enjoy being there. more

Leaving your dogs behind when your on the go shoudn't be stressful for you or your dogs. This is why we have used Bob at the Hickory Creek Kennels. The kennel provides a restful experience for our dogs. We have found Bob to be excellent with all our dogs over the years. Our new dog, Silky, is a special needs dog. She has dry eyes and needs drops in her eyes twice daily. Bob has provided excellent care for her. We have always got back happy, contended and well taken care of dogs. Bob is accommodating to our schedule as much as possible. This is a great benefit to us. We will always use Bob and we are very pleased with his kennel! more

What a wonderful kennel. I am very picky as to who watches my babies and I have been so pleased with how Bob cares for them. When I pick them up, they have had a bath and are brushed. My puppies get all excited when they see him. It's like they are going on their own little vacation at the spa. more

My human parents sent me, my two sisters & my brother to visit Bob while they took a week of r&r. We're all good about traveling for a visit, but I was a little concerned for my little sister since she is only 5 months old and had never left our home before. Bob put the 4 of us side by side so we could keep an eye on each other and everything that was happening and I really appreciated that since I am in charge of the others and wanted to make sure that by brother and sisters were happy. Being a German Shepherd, I have a lot of responsibility. We really had a good time. We loved the heating system and Bob was really great about making sure we we had a great visit. Even my little sister did well in spite of her young age. We were glad to see Mom & Dad come, but were even happier a few days later when I overheard them say that we could go back and visit Bob again. more

Hickory Creek Kennels is great. I have used them several times when I go on vacation. I have two dogs, a rhodesian ridgeback and a Yorkie. Hickory Creek is the only kennel that I will use. No matter if I leave my dogs there for 2 days or 20 days they get awesome treament. I highly recommend Hickory Creek Kennels, they are very accomodating. more
