3/22/12 two men arrived at my home in Seattle, Washington. My fianc? and I had been working with a woman named Mya who insisted we should trust her. She took an inventory of our things. Once the moving men arrive, the initial estimate went up an additional $1000. The inventory we had given Mya did not match their list . I spoke with Mya and the delivery manager who agreed to move us for $2500. This is after they threatened to charge my credit card if I cancelled service.
After the men who could not speak English nor introduced themselves, walked through my entire home, went in closets, etc, we agreed on $2500. They started packing the truck. Once it was filled to a point, they said I now had to pay more money. I ended up paying another $300. In total, $2808.75 which I was told I had to pay up front.
Mya has told us we could use bags to save space, but once the movers arrived they said everything had to be in boxes. Mya explained she just doesn't tell people that because then she could lose the sale. She also told us that the move would take 7-10 days and asked us to provide a date we could receive the pick up so she could schedule it. We made arrangements at our new home. But, once everything was on the truck, we were informed it would take 12-16 business days. I have called Hercules, tried to get a straight answer and cannot. Every time they say they will call back, they don't. They just keep telling me that it is Passover that is why they are taking so long.
I have called to complain numerous times and kept getting the run around. I was told by Mya to go get an air mattress and send her the receipt for reimbursement and that a customer service rep would reimburse me and would be contacting me.3 days later, a woman named Lee contacted me. She was just as rude as the rest of the staff at Hercules, and she was supposed to be the customer service manager. She told me that the air mattress I bought was too expensive. In addition, she told me the best she could do was reimburse me $90 for my issues.
After being told 6 different delivery dates, we received our things...ruined, broken and rummaged through. Gary arrived at 12:30 with two other men.
Roughly 50% of our belonging are ruined. Items we received as engagement presents for our wedding are ruined. It seems like their motto is, ""if we didn't pack it, it is not our fault. And we did pack it, it is not our fault either.""
Gary refused to acknowledge the broken and ruined furniture. He kept trying to rub out scratches and disregarded any issues we brought up. He said if I didn't find everything that was wrong right then and there, then I was out of luck. When I told him we were missing three boxes, he raised his voice at me and said we were mistaken and not missing anything, refusing to write down any boxes being missing. Boxes were re taped with different tape than we had originally used. A desk broken in half, the dresser ripped apart, the grill, chairs, kitchen table top, boxes SMASHED. The gross amount of the items were ruined. The delivery man's attitude was rude, threatening and snide.
Gary then wanted me to sign documents indicated that items were delivered and I refused. I tried to contact the company (no answer at customer service). I finally got through to a woman name Lenoya who told me I did not have to sign anything I did not want to. When I communicated this to the driver, he took my phone from me, started speaking in another language . There was now someone else on the phone, Nick, who said there ""would be consequences if I did not sign the documents and if anything was broken, The driver said he would not leave my home and that he would stay there all night if he had to threatening and yelling at me. So out of fear, I wrote that I did not agree to the terms of the document so that I could get him out of home and close the door.
