Word of Caution 6/27/2007

I bought/ordered four dining chairs at $99 each, great price but was told there was an $80 delivery charge so opted to pick-up at the warehouse when they came in. The warehouse has crappy hours of 8-4:30 M,T,Th,F only. So of course, not memorizing this, I showed up on Wed. at lunch when they were closed. I was not told the chairs (from CHINA) required assembly which took about 45min for the first with unboxing and gathering the proper tools (used a 12mm wrench or power phillips head screw driver/drill. the other three took about 15min each and some sweat equity. They went together easily and are well made, just peeved that I was told about assembly and the pick-up hours. more

Out-of-the-ordinary 4/4/2006

After spending a day furniture shopping, we saw a lot of the same stuff again and again at varying prices. One store that stood out because of its great selection and lots of unique items was Haverty's. This is a fairly new store at Tri-County that I hadn't been to before, and I was impressed from the time I walked in. They had neat fabrics, lots of different designs, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The quality seemed good, and the prices were reasonable. I would definitely make this a first stop if you're looking for living/ family/ dining room furniture. I think they have bedroom and home office items but we didn't look at that section. more
