Zero stars ,worst hospital, rude doctor 3/20/2019

Let me start by saying I am not a review type person but this was the absolute worst hospital experience of my life ! I was referred by planned parenthood to get an ultrasound done after i already received a pat. Im having terrible pain in my left side .so i get to this hospital wait 3hrs get called for information only .wait another 3hrs . See three different people. Finally 7hrs later i go to the back room .3 nurses talk to me before i see a dr. They see i am in pain ,they ignore the paper that says i only need an ultrasound ,instead want to give me another pat before ultrasound [money hungry]. At first i was going to let them until i waited naked in the bed for another hour . Dr.WILLIkAN refused to give me anything for pain he talked to me like i was only there for drugs. They made me feel like i didn't matter ,like my pain is a lie .im going on four days of no sleep ! Do not go here unless you want to wait 10 plus hours and be treated like an addict! more

Wish i could give a 0 stars 12/14/2017

I broke my ankle the day before Thanksgiving 2017 & I like many others don't have insurance (most can't afford it really) so upon a friend's urging I went there & wish to God I didn't. My husband & I were there 12 hrs & the bad reviews on here are right. Pls don't go there you WILL regret it. My story is really long I hope I can get this all in as a warning to stay away from here. I fell & broke it w/3 different brakes. The so called doctor is a bona fide nut job. No compassion & after rolling my broken ankle all over the place for xrays even as I was basicly screaming for him to stop (did no good) he proceeds to jam & shove my bones together & put his full force body weight against my ankle & then slaps the plaster of paris on my ankle & was pulling straps across the top of my ankle so tight where I'm already bruised & swelling & the cast is cutting off my circulation & making it swell more. He injected me w/4 kinds of pain meds in order to stop what he was doing to me. He took xrays of my knee (he's about money) which had nothing to do w/my ankle & when I told him not to he did it anyway (he violated my rights as a patient) & I won't pay those. The nurses are uppity too. They look down on you. He also pulled my foot as if to be like he was pulling my bones long & twisted & jammed my foot into place. When he finally got thru he put his full body weight against my foot for several min.s then he took more xrays & pulled my ankle in different directions. I was screaming so loud people were coming in to help me & see what was wrong. The guy should be disbarred. Pls don't ever go there. Now I have gone to a (paid) orthopedic surgeon & told him what what this guy did he kringed when I showed him pics of my bruising & swelling & what he did to me (doctors don't usually kringe like that) & he just shook his head. I'm suppose to try to get a fiber glass cast on (its lighter) but can't (being awake) cause the pain level is so high. I went in w/a straight foot now it's crooked cause of this guys damage. Pls don't go there if you value your health & safety more

Emergency room chaos 1/7/2016

I checked in at 19:30am. I am still awaiting a room for a blood transfusion . When you take an ambulance you are taken to the closest hospital. This is my first and last visit Some of the staff is so use to being rude or defensive that when you ask a simple question they almost bite your head off . The sheriffs that are there are rude as s hell. People are sick and they are treated like animals. more

Surprised at the wonderful service and caring staff 1/28/2014

I had to take my mother who has no insurance and was having horrible stomach pain. I expected the worse; long wait, uncaring and rude staff, and dirty hospital. My mother went through triage in less than an hour where the ER residents were very nice and attentive. The hospital is updated but a little old. She had a tumor removed and is now having chemo in the oncology clinic. The clinics are now in the new wing of the hospital so they are very clean and nice. Once again we have not had to wait for more than 30 minutes to see her doctor and when anything changes about her appointment we get a call notifying us. I am very thankful and hope the good experience continues. more

worst place to be sent to 8/28/2013

If I could give a negative star rating I would ugh were to begin....I was sent here because I didn't have ins. Which was fine until it took about damn near 15 he's of jus waiting and asking how much longer it would be to be taken back. I have a broken nose and have been having to deal with being sent to drs all over the place n not one has yet to do something!!!!!! I wish they would jus do there jobs n start helping people instead of just making them wait ALL day to be seen by a Dr. more

LBJ General Hospital 8/9/2013

This is a fine and well suited healthcare institution and trauma center. The level of care is truly competent. The healthcare providers ensure that each patient is well cared for. The residents and faculty are highly qualified individuals, demonstrated by their practice. It may not be a leader in publicized hospital rankings, but it consists of unmatched care. The hospital is heavily equipped with technologies, necessary to conduct and provide medical services. more

WASN'T SO BAD---VERY THANKFUL 4/29/2013

HAVING GALLSTONES AND NO INSURANCE. I WAS VERY THANKFUL FOR LBJ AND THE HARRIS COUNTY GOLD CARD. I GOT TO THE E.R. AT 11AM AND WAS HAVING SURGERY BY 8:30PM THAT NIGHT. OF COURSE IT WAS HECTIC, BUT THE STAFF WAS SUPER. YES, THEY NEED MORE DOCTORS, BUT I AM GRATEFUL THAT I HAD A HOSPITAL THAT I COULD GO TO AND NOT SPEND A TON OF MONEY. MY NURSE, HANNAH, WAS ONLY 21 YEARS OLD, BUT SHE WAS A PRO. SHE MADE MY HOSPITAL STAY SO MUCH BETTER. more

Good staff!! 3/26/2013

Yes the wait is very long I heard the triage nurse say there was 72 n er but all the nurses and staff have all been very accommodating everybody seemed to know what they was doing and was trying to help everybody as soon as they could . The ER was very clean the restrooms were in very good shape and smelled very good I would come here again if I needed to I have read all the reviews and do think the hospital has mad a lot of changes to improve and I could deff. See that n my visit more

Will NEVER go there again! 2/20/2013

The wait time was ridiculous! There were so many people in agony waiting for up to 24 hours. It was sad to see so many people in pain without getting help. Broken bones, constant vomiting, a woman's water broke and a janitor ignored her to mop up the floor. Her baby's head was surfacing! Something needs to be done to improve the service! more

Unorganized!!! 1/9/2013

Just came back from going up there for an HIV test and wasn't informed that you have to pay 6 DOLLARS FOR PARKING. After being late for my appointment because I had to drive and get cash for parking, I came back only to be told the doctor who performs the simple test took off for the rest of the week. I WASTED GAS,MONEY. AND TIME trying to get my test done there. NEVER GO UNLESS YOU HAVE TO. more

SAD, SAD, SAD, 7/21/2012

IT IS A SHAME THAT THE HOSPITAL LYNDON B JOHNSON IS IN THE CONDITION IT IS. THIS IS REALLY BAD, I HAD NEVER KNEW WHAT IT WAS TO HAVE TO USE A HOSPITAL LIKE THIS IN MY LIFE, I AM 65 YEARS OLD AND HAVE SEEN TENT HOSPITALS IN VIETNAM IN THE JUNGLES WITH CLEANER CONDITIONS THAN THIS HOSPITAL, WE ARRIVED IN THE EMER. ROOM AREA TO FIND MY MOTHER WHO HAD BEEN TAKEN THERE BY AMBULANCE, STANDING AT THE COUNTER FOR 20 TO 35 MINUTES WHILE FOUR OF THE STAFF STOOD AROUND LAUGHING AND TALKING PAYING ATTENTION TO NO ONE, AND ONLY WHEN I RUDLY INTERUPTED DID I GET SOME ACTION, MY MOTHER IS 85 YEARS OLD AND WAS PASSING OUT DUE TO LOSS OF FLUID IN HER BODY, NEEDLESS TO SAY IF IT HAD NOT BEEN FOR MY WIFE SHE WOULD HAVE SET IN HER OWN BODY FLUIDS DUE TO NO ONE OFFERING TO CHANGE HER. I TOOK A LITTLE STROLE THROUGH THE HOSPITAL JUST TO SEE IF THE REST OF THE HOSPITAL WAS THE SAME AND GUESS WHAT ? IT WAS, FLOOR AFTER FLOOR THE STAFF WERE STANDING AROUNG WHILE PATIENTS WERE BEGGING FOR HELP. AGAIN THIS IS A SAD SAD SAD DAY WHEN A HOSPITAL THIS LARGE AND THIS NICE LET THE EMPLOYES NEGLECT THERE PATIENTS............THE BEST THING ABOUT THE HOSPITAL WERE THE DOCTORS AT LEAST THEY CARED, AND THEY SHOWED IT................................................. more

Horrible 6/10/2012

A man literally peed his pants, it was all over the chair and floor and instead of cleaning it up they put bed sheets over it and left it there for hours. Hopefully they won't reuse those. We waited for hours and finally asked when they would be able to give my boyfriend stitches because his face was still bleeding and busted open.. They replied by telling us that we had only been there for a few hours and the next person up had been there for 14 hours. We left and went to memorial Herman hospital in Katy. Much much much better. We will never return to that awful place again. more

OMG 1ST AND LAST TIME 5/22/2012

I am in LBJ'S er and not only has it been 12hours the lady at the front desk has an attitude and the women's restroom has shit on the wall and no tissue. How can someone work in these conditions? I will never be caught in this Hospital again. I could be half dead while they are whispering with other patients moving them in front of me...ugh! more

What a joke 3/13/2012

This place needs to be shut down!! Had a surgery on my foot and they released me without EVER changing the dressings or checking the wound. Was discharged with a hole the size of a baseball on my ankle. 7 surgeries later and 14 months and counting to fix what the should have never done. Some Intern did this so where are the doctors?? Why would they let some kid Intern operate without knowing what he was doing. I would rather die first then to ever go to some county no care hospital. more
