Avoid these people as hell. Crooks. They will take my money, not deliver, not refund me. Just make fun of me. I can't believe how a business like this can be around for so long. Hell yeah, this place is a true gem. Real easy to miss because it is in a small plaza, but don't judge a book by it's cover. I have bought three beds from here since the 90's and each one is a little better than the last. Those mattresses you see online for $2,000 to $3,000, you can pick up here for under $700. Great deals and when you send friends and family, they never embarrass you. more

I have bought at least nine mattresses from Mitch since '96 and have never, ever had a problem or spent more than $500 on mattresses that consistently would cost two grand at the major retail shops. And every mattress I got I either still have or gave away to friends/family who still use them. You can count on a good ten years on his beds, for the price, that can't be beat!!! more

I bought my first mattress there in 2004 and it was great! My mattress was very well priced, delivered well and I still love it! I was so pleased I sent multiple people over there in the past few years. So when I moved to a new city, I actually went there to buy 2 new king size mattresses to take with me. There must be a change in management cause my experience was horrible. When you go to the ""showroom"", they show you showroom quality mattresses at a fair price. When you get to the warehouse to pick up the mattress (Its a good drive away from the showroom, don't let them convince you it's down the street), you can see that the reason they get them is cause the retailers don't want them. The mattresses are filthy, ripped, have water damage, etc. Still I trusted them cause I was a previous customer, and I loaded them both into the truck and drove all the way to Texas to realize that they gave me the wrong mattress! 1 was extra plush pillowtop (which I wanted) and the other is super firm! I called the store manager almost 10 times in the last 4 months and have never received a call back. I tried selling it but no one wants to buy it cause of the dirty stains on it! I can't believe that they would treat a customer like this. And remember no warranties!\r \r Beware! I will never go back to this store or recommend it to anyone ever again. Spend the extra few bucks and go to mattress firm. I bought a mattress from them and when it was being delivered, it rained and the mattress got wet (through the plastic). I called them and I had a brand new mattress the very next day! Quality and customer service is worth the extra few bucks! \r more

I couldn't possibly count all the people I have sent to half price mattress over the years. Not once has Mitch failed to deliver on an awesome mattress for a dirt cheap price. I am on my second Simmons World Class purchased from half price since 1998 and I won't be needing to replace it any time soon. I would recommend to anyone and everyone! more

My mom recently retired to Century Village in Hollywood, Florida after 75 glorious years back here in Iowa. I went down to visit her last month and was absolutely appalled at the mattress she was sleeping on that came came with the condo she purchased there. I found Half Price Mattress on my I Phone and purchased a Full Sized Simmons Beautyrest PillowTop set through their website and to my relief and surprise, they came out the very same day and were extremely quick and friendly. It is not too often to find nice people behind an Internet purchase, but their delivery driver, Casey was a Iraq war veteran with a personality that knew no bounds and my mom was delighted at how he removed her old mattress, made sure her frame was solid and set up her new bed and even put on her dust ruffle. I am writing this review because my Mom just called me to thank me again...she is sleeping so well, and that makes me so happy. After calling the store to thank them again, they simply responded by requesting me to give them a good review, so here it is. They actually ship across the country, so I am considering purchasing a Simmons Black Label and have them ship it back here to Iowa! more

I just moved to South Florida from Syracuse where I have been sleeping on the same mattress since the 90's. I decided to leave the bed and bedroom set behind and found half price mattress on my i-phone last week after moving into my new condo in Coconut Creek. I got the owner, Mitch on the phone and he promised me not only would it be worth the trip down to Hollywood, but he would deliver back for free as long as I promised to do an online review (good or bad) once I slept on my mattress. That closed the deal, for me, it just wasn't some slick sales pitch, it showed to me a level of confidence in his product. He explained to me he came to South Florida sixteen years ago from far away, like me, (although Seattle is a heck of a lot farther than Syracuse) and has been selling Simmons Beautyrest at 75% off ever since. I took the ride and was very impressed with his operations. No fancy showroom or facades, just jam packed with mattresses from floor to ceiling. I checked the law tags, and all the beds were recently manufactured by Simmons and legit although about a third of his inventory seemed to have scuffs or imperfections from shipping. Mitch explained to me that was how he got the beds, which comforted me because that explained how I was able to buy something for under \r $500 that cost triple at the major retailers. I chose an Elite Simmons Beautyrest Ultra Plush SuperPillowTop for $500 for the Queen mattress only then I ordered a bad ass platform bed from one of their catalogs for another $700. After price checking on Google, I was still $300 less than www.us-mattress.com, and that was with the platform bed! I am going back next week to do my living room and dining room. If you are in the market and want to deal diectly with a small business owner, give Mitch a shout! more

I have had my eye on Mitch for over two years now, ever since the first time time I him at CrossFit, then at SHENANIGAN'S EAST SIDE... He never gave me much time, but he finally came around when he overheard me talking about how I had to get rid of my old mattress because it smelled like my ex boyfriend... He told me about his shop down on Johnson Street and told me if I promised to do a review (good or bad, he wasn't worried), he would do free delivery... So I went down and saw Alexandra (LOVE HER!) and she hooked me up with a King Sized MEMORYFOAM , just like those tempurpedics, for $800 and I am so IN LOVE!!!! Except now it is with my new mattress and not my smelly ex boyfriend. And top it off, I have a new CrossFit and drinking partner, Miss Alexandra, she knows how to hook a sister up! more

I recently went to Macy's looking for a king Simmons Beautyrest Black Lable ""Kalyn"", on sale the mattress costed 4,500 for a king set. I shopped around and that was the cheapest i could find in that make and model, until i saw a sign with Halfprice mattress on a pick up truck. I called, went in and i was shocked to see that the same exact mattress, i'm saying ""exact!"" they had it at 2,200. Same make and model. I couldn't believe it. The only concern for me was a scuff on the right corner, then i realized it will be covered with a bed sheet anyway. I was leaving out of town that night and need the mattress right away. That was not possible for them. So we scheduled for a soon as i got back, well they forgot. I called 2 times that day. At that point i was a bit upset. Finally Mitch (owner) called me back about 5pm, he apologized for the delay promising he will have it to me before i went to bed that night. Eddie the delivery man finally showed up about 8:30 that night with a great attitude, he helped me set up the mattress and took away the old one. I slept very well on the mattress all and all i kept thinking ""I got an unbelievble deal"". They have all kinds of other mattresses not just Simmons Beautyrest. I will be referring them to everyone! more

\r ""Bed Bugs""\r \r I can't adequately describe my nightmare dealing with these scammers in the limited space allotted for a review. Besides, you'd never believe the games they played. Suffice it to say that I did not receive the mattress I paid for. I did not receive a NEW mattress, but rather someone else's reject, despite the fact that I was 100% assured all of their mattresses were new.\r \r I can't count the number of times I called during the past 6 months to inquire about replacing my mattress, only to hear them say (so very sweetly and so sincerely) ""Oh gee - I thought that was taken care of. I'm really sorry. I'll look into it and call you back."" or ""We're expecting a truck on Thursday, we'll call you back"" or ""I called the factory, your mattress will be here next week. We'll call you back.""\r \r They never EVER called back. \r \r Finally after 6 months of lies, they admitted they were not going to replace my mattress. Fortunately the only ""bed bugs"" I had to contend with were the owner and his well-seasoned sales staff. I suppose it could have been a lot worse, given all the concern about bed bugs these days. \r \r If you absolutely and unconditionally want a new mattress and ONLY a new mattress - and won't settle for someone else's reject - you'd best shop somewhere else. If you do choose to deal with them, remember this: everyone I dealt with at this store came across as sweet and sincere, and seemingly so concerned about satisfying my needs, but it's just BS. You'll get whatever used or new mattress they have available (be it firm, extra firm, plush or whatever, regardless of what you paid for) and let you deal with it later.\r \r Read some of the other negative reviews before you decide to shop here - it's actually more like playing the lottery than shopping. I'm sure none of the other negative reviews were written by anyone with a vested interest. I'm not sure the same can be said of the positive reviews. more

Funny how all the authors to these reviews opened their account the same day they reviewed half price mattress. And they only reviewed one business? hmmm.....Could a store that sells returns and reconditioned mattresses really be that good? I think not. more

I retired from the Air Force last year, and upon moving to Hollywood, I wound up buying a Simmons Beautyrest Queen Pillow Top. Although I only weigh about 120lbs, the mattress started to sink in the middle, so I called up Half Price Mattress, where I purchased it from for just under $500, and they explained to me there was no manufacturers warranty because they were an Outlet for Simmons, but that they stood by their products. Make a long story short, they arrived at my house less than two days later with a new mattress, a slightly firmer Simmons Euro Top, and only charged me $50 for the swap out, which I considered fair. The best part is I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MY NEW MATTRESS and am very appreciative that there was no fight and no shenanigans regarding my customer service issue. What a relief!!! The only thing worse than my old mattress was the search to find a new one. Everywhere I went, it was $1200 to $1500 for a comfortable Queen set, and half the time they werent even top-of-the-line namebrands. I found 1/2 Price Mattress through a Google search and was impressed with the many reviews. What impressed me more was the selection when I got to their store. They were to the ceiling with Simmons Beautyrest mattresses and I found one that was just right for $500...a Simmons Elite Firm SuperPillowTop. My mother was recently bedridden and I always believed part of her discomfort was the mattress she stubbornly refused to part with. I convinced her to try a memoryfoam after watching those endless Tempurpedic commercials, but I was shocked at the prices. After doing a Google search, I learned about HALF PRICE MATTRESS and was very impressed with their reviews. I went and they were very helpful and I found a Simmons ComfortPedic Loft Queen Mattress and Box for under Six hundred Bucks and after two months, my mom couldnt be happier. I really appreciate the deal and service from HALFPRICE MATTRESS. more

I can't begin to tell you how happy I am with the Simmons World Class SuperPillowTop I bought from Half Price Mattress of Hollywood... I must have been ripped off a half dozen times by fancy retailers since the late seventies, always paying too much for what wound up being a crappy mattress (I won't even go into the nightmare my Tempur PEDIC was..)... This time I listened to a student of mine who told me about Half Price Mattress down on Johnson Street across from Gino's Meat Market and I went down there and fell in love with this Monster SuperPillowTop that's incredible to sleep on.... I don't feel my wife toss or turn and I don't need Ambien anymore to fall asleep... And I only spent $700 for the King set!!!! The delivery was SAMEDAY and only $40, I gave a $20 tip and they took away that nightmare MEMORYFOAM mattress I had and I haven't looked back since.... it's been a good four months now and I am so happy I have decided to invest twenty minutes and to go tell it on a mountain online....Thank you Carlo, Alexandra and Mitch, I love my mattress! more

I was robbed by Mattress Giant about five years ago. I bought a Sealy King PillowTop for Fifteen Hunfred bucks and it started to sag like a water balloon after six months and neither Sealy or Mattress Giant would do anything about it. I have kept it almost out of spite and regret for spending all that cash, but recently my back wouldn't take it anymore and no girlfriend would tolerate it, to say the least. I found this store by accident cause there was this Simmons Beautyrest tractor trailer blocking traffic on Johnson Street and when I looked over I saw a mountain of gorgeous mattresses piled up and being carried into this little store. Something told me to check it out so I pulled into Gino's Meat Market across the street and when I walked over I met Carlo who stopped what he was doing and gave me his complete attention. I tried three or four Kings right there in the parking lot and decided on this Simmons Beautyrest Shakespeare edition that retailed for over $2500, but Carlo said I could have it delivered for $850, and I decided, what the hell lets do it. I made sure to pay by credit card in case there were any problems, but I am proud to report the past three months have given me the best sleep ever and my lady friends couldn't agree more! To top it off, when I left the store that day, I had forgotten my credit card on the desk and Carlo actually brought to me on my delivery before I even knew it was missing. I couldn't recommend a retail establishment any higher, don't be discouraged by the small shopping plaza they are in, 1/2 Price Mattress is for real, they kill Mattress Giant..... more

I LIVE UNDER A FORCLOSED CONDO THAT HAD A WATER LEAK AND RUINED EVERYTHING IN MY BEDROOM AND LIVING ROOM... THE BANK THAT OWNS THE UNIT ABOVE ME HAS BEEN GIVING ME THE RUN AROUND SO I HAD TO REPLACE MY MATTRESS WITHOUT A LOT OF MONEY... I FOUND HALF PRICE MATTRESS ON GOOGLE AND GAVE THEM A TRY AND WOUND UP WITH A WAY BETTER MATTRESS THAN WHAT I HAD FOR UNDR THREE HUNDRED BUCKS... SIMMONS BEAUTYREST CLASSIC PLUSH FIRM FOR ONLY $ 299... DELIVERY WAS ONLY $25 AND THE STAFF WAS VERY HELPFUL, THEY REMOVED MY OLD MATTRESS FOR ONLY ANOTHER $20... VERY HAPPY!!! more

A friend told me about his experiences with 1/2 Price Mattress of Hollywood so I contacted Mitch, the owner, and he assured me to make it worth my time and money to drive down from Jupiter. I am very appreciative of the fact that he actually possessed what he represented over the phone and did not waste my time and I purchased a queen sized Simmons Black Label for $900 where the same model was triple online and quadruple down the street from me in Palm Beach County. Mitch was good enough to safely secure the mattress to the top of my vehicle and did not require me to buy the box spring, which was also a bonus, as I did not need one. To top it off, he turned me on to this great Sports Bat, Shenanigans on Sheridan, where I enjoyed the greatest chicken wings I have ever eaten on my way home. All in all a very rewarding experience and th mattress sleeps as good as advertised, and I didn't have to spend thousands. more
