Unfortunately we just had the worst experience at this store. I have always felt comfortable recommending this store to my friends because I felt like I had always gotten wonderful service every time we've gone in there over the last 10+ years. That is no longer the truth. We were treated so rudely and the other employees were trying to laugh it off, but bottom line is they wanted to make their sale and they didn't care how they did it or who they hurt in the process. Very disappointing to realize that they did not want to show us the best products nor did they want to make sure we got what we wanted. Be very careful when buying jewelry here! I now have to recommend to my friends to shop around and buy elsewhere. more

Hal's did a great job fixing a custom ring and resized another. I'm so glad to have reviews online for opinions b/c I never would have known about this great little shop. They knew exactly what needed to be done to fix a couple of expensive rings and did it for less than I expected. They are first class and I will use them again for any jewelry needs. more

My fiance and I looked for her wedding band at lots of places in the Galleria area and they all had either bad service or exorbitant prices. Tarang at Hal Martin's dealt straight with us and gave us great advice on wedding bands that no one else had bothered to tell us. He was very helpful and we felt like he gave us a beautiful ring at a fair price. I was very satisfied with my experience at HM and I would definitely buy from there again. more

I came in to authenticate my Rolex Submariner. As a multiple Rolex owner, I buy pre-owned from time to time and this one I needed verified as genuine / authentic. Not only did they verify it was all authentic quickly and expertly, but they offered to re-brush the bracelet to make the finish nicer. They were gracious and very nice with a level of knowledge you don't see. Even though I didn't go in today to buy a Rolex, while waiting for the verification and re-finishing, I looked at some of their Rolexes for sale. The sales staff was extremely nice and accommodating and didn't hesitate to ask me if I needed help and pull out watches when I wanted to see them. Because they were so nice and knowledgeable, I will certainly make this my first stop for pre-owned Rolex and other watches in the future. Thank you, Hal Martins. Cheers, Ross more

I have a pocket watch that needed a part so after reading up on reviews of various companys I choose Hals to see if they could help. I found the people at Hals to be professional and friendly and talk about service ...when the watchmaker failed to find the correct part for my watch, he made one! I went in looking for a very specific watch and they were able to help me find exactly what I was looking for. They even had to order a part from New York. I was able to get my watch in under a week. Everybody there is extremely nice and helpful. There is no question that I will go back for my next purchase and I recommend that anybody looking for watches or jewelry go visit them. more

Worse and rudest customer service I have EVER experienced. I'd give zero stars if available. I wanted the strap repaired on my Omega Seamaster automatic and was told my watch was ""falling apart"" and needed a $430 service despite it working fine and being in excellent condition for a 10 year old watch. When asked what the sevice entailed I was told it would include ""gaskets and oiling."" When I questioned the extent of the service and the priced I was told to 'just take my watch"" as the assistant held it between thumb and first finger like a piece of dirt. I promptly walked out of the store and went to Duetsch & Duetsch who confirmed my watch was in excellent order and needed a simple strap repair. Steer clear of this place. more

I was in a bind and needed to sell some gold, i shopped around most places i went wanted to give me 70 bucks for a gold watch, (penny weight) most pawn shops i went to such as Wright, were kinda rude, and seemed like they were doing me a favor. when i went to Hal Martins, staff was very professional and polite and offered me 280 for the watch plus owner took out the diamonds for me to have to make a ring. Love love love Hal Martins!! Pros: they give you better prices for your luxuy items than most Cons: i wish i had more stuff to sell more

Over the last 12 months I have had occasion to use Hal Martin's for everything from watch batteries [3] to repair of an old Rolex, to resizing my wedding band [I think it shrunk] and the folks at Hal Martin's have taken care of me just as though I was an old friend. My fiance bought me a unique engagement ring from one of the big chains and it didn't come with a matching wedding band. I took it into Hal Martin's and they made a match that looks aboslutely perfect! I was so pleased with the outcome that my fiance got his groom's band custom made at Hal's for about 25% of what we would have paid in a big chain store. We were referred to Hal Martinls by good friends of ours and the exxperience we had lived up to what we had been told! We were looking to purchase a new wedding ring and band and Tarang showed us several rings until my wife found the one she wanted. Tarang was very patient and went out of his way to give us exceptional customer service. I needed the ring that night for our special occasion and although it would normally have taken a day or two, Tarang was able to get the ring sized and to our specifications within just a few hours. I have been a customer for 10 years, mostly for gold bullion and slightly used Rolex watches. Traded in a Submariner for Yachtmaster....my Yachtmaster, like all their items, looks brand new. Box, papers, certifications, everything. Also, very honest and easy to deal with when buying or selling gold in any form. I am not sure why anyone would go anywhere else. I woudl absolutely purchase a watch and any other jewelry from Hal Martin. Staff will work with you to ensure you are 100% satisfied. I accidental let some moisture into my Rolex DateJust that was given to me by my parent after passing the Royal College examination may years ago. When calls were made to some local ""authorised dealer"" the charges were quite expensive and routinely they say will take a few weeks for servicing.\r \r Hal Martin took only 2 weeks and the watch is like new when I picked it up today. The staff were exceptional pleasant and the lady (Barbara) alos give me very nice carrying case for my other digital watch.\r \r The price for servicing was very fair. A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE\r My wife and I (Margaret and Dick Golden) lived in Ct. and retired to Houston TX. I have diabetes that caused kidney disease. I was told that I might have to go into a dialysis program within the next few years. Upon researching further, my health was good except the kidney problem and the Doctors said that I should consider a kidney transplant. My wife (Margaret) said she was willing to give me one of hers. Testing our compatibility, she was approved to be my donor. We went through the operation and I am now living a normal life with the hope that the transplant has given me twenty more years, I decided that a gold charm of a kidney would show my appreciation to my donor, my wife. I did not find a commercial gold kidney charm. My wife had used the Hal Martin’s Watch Jewelry Co. several times with very positive results and had received wonderful service. I stopped in to talk to them about the kidney charm project. They also checked for a commercial charm and found that there was none available. They then proceeded to make a mold of a kidney and fabricated the THE PERFECT KIDNEY CHARM. Margaret has not taken the charm off. We were able to easily identify the watches we wanted, the watches were found and brought into the store within a few days.
